Disney is famous for creating some of the most classic films in history, and "Alice in Wonderland" is one of them. The film was first released in the early '50s. However, it is based off a 17th-century novel written by English author Lewis Carroll. What started out as a fun story for children evolved into something that many of us have trouble understanding, which is why we're putting the body of work under the scope. When a young girl named Alice stumbles across a rabbit hole, she doesn't hesitate to follow it into oblivion. What starts off as a means to appease Alice's curiosity turns into something else altogether.
It's no secret that "Alice in Wonderland" is riddled with dark themes and nonsensical scenarios, which is why we're trying to make sense of it all. There are many dubious moments in Disney's visual representation of the novel, and we're about to bring them to light.

The queen wasn't angry because she wanted white roses. She ordered red roses to be planted but white ones were planted by mistake. The gardeners were painting them red to cover up their goof.
Well it's understandable why the cards tried to cover up their goof. The Queen of Hearts is a scary woman and they were afraid she would behead them if she found out. Of course that is exactly what happened to them anyway.
Yes right Btw I don't recall the tweedle di and tweedle dum in lewis Carroll's version 😕
Thank you, that's the point I understood from that chapter!!!🙏👍😎
But what is she did it meaningfully what if she just wanted to lose her temper just so she could cut off their heads
@@angelofdarkness9547 I think those two characters were in the book Through the Looking-Glass, if I'm remembering correctly.
My school is doing Alice In Wonderland for the play.... I'm in it!
19 likes! Wow!
That’s amazing, congrats! Who are you playing?
My school is doing the musical but Im not in it because I am not in lower school
Wait which character are you playing as Alice the Cheshire Cat the White Rabbit the Queen of Heart The Mad Hatter the king of hearts Tweedledee Tweedledum Who are you playing as
@@The_Casino_Thrill I'm in the ensemble.
@Christy Byrne Good Job!
"Those who grow up in Wonderland tend to lose their heads." I'll say.
If Disney didn’t want you to notice them they wouldn’t have included them
Luna Lovegood XoX
By “did not want to notice” they mean easter-eggs :D
@@skellythehappyskelliton223 but easter eggs are meant to be noticed
That's the whole point of adding easter eggs
When I was turning 9 years old I had an Alice in Wonderland party and my cousin was dressed like the Mad Hatter and my other cousin was dressed like the Queen of Hearts and they were fighting and I got mad that they were fighting so I ran to a tree and sat under it and just kind of stared at the branches now I realize I was trying to fall asleep to be like Alice and go to Wonderland I didn't go to sleep though
In my opinion I think that Alice really did go to wonderland(like she really felt and heard) but in her dreams.
So like a lucid wonderland dream
I would love to do that!!!
Alice in wonderland is referencing drugs peer pressure and also about how fast ur childhood is and how that innocence can easily be taken away
Smooth Ink how true can this get
If u read the original alice in wonderland, u would know that her trip in wonderland was just a dream.
I read the original book and there are some characters that were omitted from the movie. And some characters like Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum and the talking flowers were really in the second book Through the Looking Glass and What Alice Found There.
Yeah I read Alice in wonderland and threw the looking glass and what Alice found there, some of the characters were never in the movie like the Griffin and the mouse. Also I this because of another video but the bird Dodo that helped Alice dry off was based on Lewis Carrol.
Thank you for letting folks know that reading is fun and mental!!!👌😷
Also in the 1st movie
@@melissacooper4282 the twins and flowers were on the movies
It makes me whant to watch alice in wonderland now
That’s what I’m doing right now lol
My friend told me this answer to the riddle: "why is a raven like a writing desk?"
Poe wrote on both
Thats brilliant, I always thought it was because both had quills/feathers. Your freind is smart.
😱
My answer is they are both dark and full of mischief.
Ooooooooo!
I'M TELLING!!! lol!😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
Who’s poe
In the original book Alice is seven years old. Of course it makes sense to make her a few years older in the Disney film.
a lot of lines to know, she s in every scene !
I think kathryn beaumont was 11 when she voiced her
@@ginauccelatore3002 I just looked up the actress on Wikipedia and she was thirteen years old when she did the voice of Alice in Alice in Wonderland.
that explains that she sounds so mature
thank you Melissa
A raven is like a writing desk because it can produce few notes, though they are very flat - Lewis Carroll
"Because Poe wrote on both."
Alice took the red pill and left the matrix.
I agree. Like Neo follow the white rabbit in the movie.
We’re all in this dream. Every single one of us. Our egos are blinding us!
I feel like she fell asleep on the branch of the tree and she's dreaming of her own world
Alice in wonderland is a good movie!
Why is a raven like a writing desk? Because it can produce a few notes.
Lesson learned:
Alice can never be trusted
Aria Addison i
SHE CAN BE TRUSTED LOL
@@eclipseandevil2424 i know it was a joke 😂😂
What's glossed over is the fact that the twins like parents are proven right the entire rest of the journey.
Oh wow. I'll never watch this animated feature the same way again. Really insightful analysis!
What do you mean wait to see if it was all in her head it was and that’s what makes it so interesting
It is in her head, but it is real.
It's real to Alice.
Roses are Red Violets are Blue this channel is awesome and so are you
I have no idea what the mad hatter said when he answered the Riddle next time please put subtitles and this is not a hate comment just some constructive criticism do not take it the wrong way
yea me either..
I always thought he said " I have no idea what that is "
But now I am not so sure
the mad hatter basically said that he didn't know the answer to the riddle. the audio was recorded in the 50s so the quality is not very good
So I just put it as Alice fell asleep and had a dream where she never grew up or didn't have to grow up and she found out that you just can't be a child forever, as you'd just be seen as Mad, hence why everyone is crazy. They are all adults who act as if they are children, so she wakes up and is like Nah.. and puts aside childish things and decides to grow up.
Exactly your 100% correct not because of drugs
By the way guys the laughing gas that was at the Mad Hatter's tea party, the gas is weed
NOS
Alice in wonderland is just like the movie the matrix
But she was on drugs and getting guidance from higher coinsurance
Finally out of all the comments someone said it. Proves how asleep we all are.
,There was a mistake in this video as the playing cards were painting the roses red because the queen did NOT want white roses, she insisted on red roses only.
she wanted everything red because she sees red all the time, always angry
White Rabbit = Magic
I never thought that were some mistakes in some movies. But that doesn't matter anyway.
i feel like it may b a outer body experience
Do a 'Stand By Me' (1986) video please
Everything does not need to be dissected. Just enjoy the journey.
The Queen of Hearts wanted to cut Alice's head off......attempted decapitaion in a Disney movie!!!!
Joshua Lowe she also cut off the cards heads but in the book nobody lost their heads they are put in a room to wait to be beheaded but then the king comes in and tells the gaurds to let them go and the queen never notices
And in another adaptation of the story, the Griffin, which I didn't know was in the book, says it's all a fantasy and no one ever gets there heads cut. It's just a world of madness and nonsense.
What is a dream but a hearts wish....
I honestly don’t believe that wonderland is an acid trip and (call me stupid) but I think wonderland is real
This video did a much better job pointing out all the facts and behind the scenes stuff: ua-cam.com/video/NoldiIHRs1M/v-deo.html
The king wasn't a baby as a metaphor to children. It was because the Queens character in the movie was merged with a character from the book who was a woman with a baby. In fact many characters where merged with others to save time.
Lewis carrol was born in the 19th century
He wasn’t even called Lewis carrol lol
There is an answer to that Riddle and it's pretty Dang obvious once you think about it. /
Why is a Raven like a writing desk / Answer-> they're both full of Quills / Before the invention of the pin people would write with bird Feathers by dipping the tip of the bird feather in ink one of the most popular birds to be turned into a pen or quill if you will was the Raven So basically a long time ago it was common to see a Writers desk with many Quills on it.
The answer to the question why is a raven like a writing desk is because they both produce very few notes which are very flat
I heard someone say that Poe wrote on both
Why didn’t they add the mock turtle and the gryphon :(
TheMockTurtle not enough time
Too sad...they already had Alice's frustration (in those days, they could have had Ned Sparks, famed for this same kind of pessimistic character..he's the kind often imitated in a lot of old cartoons, and shows like Tennesse Tuxedo (Baldy Eagle) and GUmby (Prickle Dino)..as either Mock Turtle or Gryphon...one of the books on Disney, MOUSE UNDERGLASS, David Koenig, mentions many of the stars Disney had in mind for this movie(!!) David is an author on many DIsney related books..!)
The king was my favorite always tryna get some spotlight and recognition haha
I haven't seen this in. years
Love your channel
Every time see the queen of hearts, I cringe in disgust.

What do u suppose they mean by down the Rabbit Hole? Many ppl are using that phrase..i see symbols left and right.
The roses were SUPPOSED to be red cuz shes the red queen.. they planted the wrong kind and painted them to cover up their mistake and save their heads. Onlyy they werent dry and were dripping paint,so the jig was up. You totally misread that, or over bent it to try and fit ur narrative.
i thought Alice was a prinssec?
Alice was never a princess. She was just a little girl in Victorian England.
In Kingdom Hearts they say she is a "Princess of Heart".
Thank you

Kid of heart ? Just cause he is short? Isn't that messed up??? Sound like you have issues with people who are small.
You’re really reaching here, just making up and forcing symbolism. What a waste of time.
