Trinidad was almost the "Hawaii" of Canada? Alphabet shirts? CBD soap? 10 year old brandy? What is going on? Find out in this new episode of FLAG/ FAN DAY!
After three years of watching Geography Now, I finally get to see my country. thank you geography now gang for putting your amazing talent and love for this show into the T&T episode . I would say any one thing you missed is talking about the leatherback turtles (which are the largest and oldest of the sea turtles) are most known for coming to Trinidad for nesting and that we have the one of the largest nesting population leatherback sea turtles in the world. If any of the geography now gang gets a chance to come back to Trinidad & Tobago, totally recommend going to see them, it is an amazing experience.
In term of wild life, it's probably worth noting that Trinidad has the Green Anaconda, worlds largest snake, and is the only Caribbean island to do so. We are also only one of two Caribbean countries,(along with Margarita) to have the Ocelot.
Saw someone say our flag is a "Tanzania Junior" in the comments. Tanzania may be larger both geographically and poplulation wise than we are but I must point out our Flag was designed and commissioned FIRST. Please do look it up. BOTH flag are beautiful anyways. Thank you. 🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹
Trinidad's Queen’s Park Savannah is Port of Spain’s largest open recreational space. Covered with low grass, the 3. 5 km (2 miles) perimeter of the Savannah, as it is called by locals, is lined with large beautiful samaan and poui trees.
@@Wabeeninc right now the largest depends on the definition of a roundabout. Malaysia and Trinidad are both claiming the largest. S.Korea is no where as big as these 2.
Although I've personally always been annoyed with the concept of a country with two names with the word "and", it's the first time for me to see their coat of arms, and I was just amazed, it's beautiful (just like pretty much any other British-style coat of arms). I mean, dang! The symbolism, the philosophy, colours, the motto; it's just perfect.
If you really look at the Trini flag, it really look like a bone passing through red flesh, wherr the black is the Marrow. I used to believe that's where they get the phrase, "Trini to de bone."
Lol you’re almost correct. The red represents the fiery spirt and passion of our people, the white represents the white sands and purity of a new nation, the black represents the oil and fertile soil of the lands.
Hey Barbs, maybe you could even do a special episode - or maybe even several episodes - on the natives tribes of North America. It is something people outside the US and Canada have probably very little knowledge of.
hi, im theo (i sent the yorkshire stuff) thank you so much for reading my letter and looking at the book i sent i really appreciate it all. i know i wrote quite a lot in the letters but where im from is something that i am very proud of. thank you again.
Nice! You must try a dash of Trinidad's Angostura bitters when mixing drinks. There's even cocoa and orange flavoured bitters too. Also Trinidad snacks are the best. Just make sure to come back for a 2nd and proper visit, either Carnival or Christmas time. Is vibes! 🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹
Glad to finally see a T & T video as a national and resident of this country. Maybe someone already correct you but combined demonym for people from each island of “Trinidadian + Tobagonian” is Not “Trini-Bagonian” but rather “Trin-Bagonian”. Just a lil fun fact about our carnival, it is The Most Replicated style of carnival in the world/inspired and birthed other carnivals in the world. A lot of other Caribbean islands draw a lot from what is produced in T&T for the festival, but major global cities where a large Trinbagonian /West Indian diaspora resides have some of the largest carnivals there. Toronto’s Caribbean Carnival, formerly called Caribana is the largest street festival in North America. New York’s Labour Day parade is also one of the other largest festivals. London’s Notting Hill Carnival is the largest street festival in Europe. All these carnivals were predominantly started by Trinidadians. The UK alone has over 40 of these carnivals in different cities, as well as other major US cities like Miami, Boston, Atlanta, and very recently Hollywood, have started these Trini-styled carnivals
I was hoping that someone would have corrected a slip of the tongue that Hannah made in the leading episode: Not all Nobel prizes are "Nobel Peace" prizes. V. S. Naipaul won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 2001.
