Introduced your music to my 14 yr old daughter with this video just the other day. I remember your Ellen appearance, which was the first time I'd seen it. Amazing, painstaking work this must have been.
I've only known the song and video since last year, and it immediately catapulted itself into my personal charts. I've probably watched it 100 times since then and it doesn't get any worse. A truly great masterpiece, both acoustically and visually, and something special in this form.
Who else is Watching this in 2020 during the quarantine. 22 months to complete this music video is beyond my imagination. Lots of time and dedication. I love this video!
I remember being a kid and my mom showing me this video, fell in love with both the song and the visuals and its been stuck in my mind ever since. Touches my heart AND brings me back to a good place, Truly a masterpiece.
The fact that so many people have come back to this after nearly a decade just shows how memorable and timeless it is. I love Kina's voice, and the fact that she put so much effort into a music video is amazing.
My sister past away from covid last year. I remember she use to sing/hum this song all time when I was younger and never asked her the name of it, until now I finally found it. Thank you Kinna 💕
This song means sooooo much to me.. I just remember my art teacher in kindergarten showing this song to the class and she also showed us the behind the scenes video. I also remember begging my mom to show me the video over, and over, and over again until i remembered the whole entire song. I was just humming the tune today when i thought... "Wow... how many tears will i shed when i watch this video again." ANSWER: a lot! thank you Mrs.Hilton for showing me this video.. And thanks to ALL of the people who created this wonderful music video...
I have emotional attachment to this song because my aunt sung this to me and her voice is like a warm blanket and makes me forget about everything so I love hearing this song ❤❤
I ❤️this song and it means so much to me. My 4th grade teacher showed this to us as an example of hard work and dedication. We then made our own stop motions videos after. She’s retiring this year though. Man, she was the sweetest, she was always giving out candies and hugs. Thank you Ms. Mueller!
just wanted you to know , my daughter goes to sleep to your album. Everynight since she was 2 months. Now she is almost 3. Thanks for such a great album
I remember when this music video first came out I was in awe and watched it over and over again. This is the first time I watched it in years and I'm still in awe. This is is an extraordinary piece of art - both the song and the stop animation
My mama got sick with cancer in September of 2011 and passed away April 4, 2012 when I was 12 years old. I remember listening to this song with my cousin who would come to visit with my aunt and uncle. They would come to take care of my mama. There was something so magical about the colors, how the jellybeans move from frame to frame. The song made my heart feel okay for a little while as I watched the video. I’m 22 years old now. I still remember every part of this song. It will always have a special place in my heart.
Sending my love from here to you. Although our family members may not be around physically, they still live in us, in our hearts, in our memories, so that we can continue living in their name. ❤️🙏
My uncle showed me this when I was a kid, he has a picture with you back in 2011, he passed away December 23 from Covid 19. I come back here to remember him. He was the nicest man you’d ever meet, didn’t do drugs or alcohol. He took care of my grandmother all his life really. One day I’ll Meet him again, maybe he’s up there watching this song as he did before and he’ll see this. Thank you.
I remember watching this 2 days after it's initial release with my (at the time) 7 year old sister and getting so excited and wowed by this video. It was just so heart warming and calming and it just put us in this trance that I never thought I'd have. Since then, I've been a devoted Kina Grannis fan and it's hard to believe that it's been 2 years since then. Love you Kina, never stop following your dreams. You're an excellent artist who deserves way more recognition than more than half of today's pop stars.
Just wanted to say my 10 yo daughter grew up loving this song when she was a year or so old and now my 1 yo son is in the same boat! Much appreciation to the dedication of this video, both of my childrens' lives will forever be impacted. Great job Kina Grannis👍
Lyrics : Hush now, let's go quiet to the park where it first started Cool night, us lying in the dark I felt my heart was trying to find a place for you to stay A place where I feel safe Anything we have known, anything we've forgoten In the rain, in the dark we'll lay In your arms, in your arms I'll stay Anything we have known, anything we've forgotten, in the rain, in the dark we'll lay In your arms, in your arms i'll stay Take my hand, let's go into the trees behind the branches, falling on our knees I remember feeling like this part of us will never change Anything we have known, anything we've forgotten, in the rain, in the dark we'll lay In your arms, in your arms I'll stay Anything we have known, anything we've forgotten, in the rain, in the dark we'll lay In your arms, in your arms I'll stay Follow me, we both know the way It's always been the same Anything we have known, anything we've forgotten In the rain, in the dark we'll lay In your arms, in your arms I'll stay Anything we have known, anything we've forgotten In the rain, in the dark we'll lay In your arms, in your arms I'll stay In your arms I'll stay In your arms I'll stay In your arms I'll stay In your arms I'll stay
I'm a Taiwanese, I heard this song in a night when it first came out during the time I was a freshman in college, at first I thought to myself, "hmmm, good song..." then I went to take a shower, found myself humming this song, then I realized that... "omg, it's a GREAT song!" Ever since then, I became a fan of Kina Grannis, but I was in Taiwan, and back then there are really little ppl know about her in Taiwan. Needless to say how hard it would be to listen to her live concert, I couldn't even find her album in stores. 5 or 6 years later, I came to Canada to study, thrilling to hear that she's going to have a concert in Canada so I finally got a chance to meet this Super talented Artist. I went with my gf, and of course, I got Kina a new fan after that concert. Might be a boring story but...hey, that's almost a dream come true to me.
This song makes me feel better when I’m not feeling well, I come back every now and then to appreciate this video being the one thing that stays in my arms (or heart)
OMG!!!! It has taken me about 6 years to try find this song and I finally found it😭😭 I could not remember the title of the song, the artist’s name, etc lol but I finally found🥺🥺😌
It's fascinating to watch girls like Kina singing so delicate and girly like this, "Being in your arms again..." It's infinitely more attractive than all the hyper confident, horribly aggressive, overly sexualised Miley Cyrus, Pink, etc singers out there. This girl is what I 'personally' believe to be "Feminine", and it's unbelievably natural and beautiful. :)
2018 and until i die LOL -- i consider this song as my anchor..whenever i feel lost or just need something that reminds me of the "happy days" i always find my way back to this song. its a lovesong, but i interpret it as a restart or refresh button type of song. the feeling it delivers just changes my state of mind, whatever mess it is in. this song just...heals me. thank you, miss Kina 💙
I just watched "It's What's Inside", and the movie was so weird and wonderful that I looked up the Writer/Director. It was Greg Jardin, and when I looked him up on IMDB, I realized I had already witnessed his unique talent years before, because I've always been a fan of Kina Grannis, and I've always thought this music video in particular was great. I've watched it many times. Turns out this video was directed by him.
I've had this stuck in my head all day but couldn't remember enough of the words to look it up. And then I remembered it was the song with the jelly beans
I have been looking for this song for YEARS! This song would always be on MV in the morning when they used to play music! This makes me so happy to finally find it!
This came up to my news feed just now and it triggers alot of memory when i was still in HS. The memories is kinda sad but i'm glad that i got the chance to remember it :)
besides the interesting video, the rhythm of the music also gives a nostalgic impression. when listening to it, it's like my mind becomes chaotic because it reminds me of the atmosphere of life 10 years ago which was so memorable and made me happy.
Wow what a throwback! When we were growing up, my sisters and I absolutely loved this song and couldn't stop watching this video! This song still holds a special place in my heart💓
oh damn, for some reason i just assumed this was a cover of some great song i hadn't heard before...but nope. damn. she wrote this....she's even more awesome than i knew.
I was waiting in a long line for an Amazon return this afternoon at a Kohl's store and getting impatient. The King does not like to be kept waiting. Then this song began playing over the store speakers and all impatience finished. I remembered the memories of first listening to the song and watching the making of the video. The rest of the time spent in line no longer mattered. Thanks Kina.
"...using 288,000 Jelly Bellies and 1 Kina Grannis." _"1 Kina Grannis."_ *_"1 Kina Grannis"_* Singer and song writer that has a sense of humor. I love people like that.
Hi this may sound lame or cheesy but your songs kinda got me ready to brace myself to any circumstances I'm going thru right now. I have this girl i really love I've been with her for 5 years now and i cherish her in a daily basis but sometime tragedies comes our way like normal people. This song reminds me of the day i saw that sparks, the butterflies in my stomach, and first laugh i saw the first time I dated her back in year 2010. Right now I'm in the middle of situation where i don't know if we will ever see again cause her parents might start to forbid me to see her and this heavy feeling I'm having in my chest and the tears that drops in my eyes doesn't feel right. You guys made me felt good in a way by just listening to your tracks and still gives me hope that someday i get to see her smile again, feel that warm hugs, and that voice when she sings to me when i feel down. Thank you. Keep it up, I meant it.
I hope you chased her and showed your worth and won over her parents in the end. Ironically, my interest in Kina is not entirely just because of Kina. I'm a little biased because I know a girl who is her doppleganger. When my younger sister was in the womb, my mother had 2 friends pregnant at the same time. The women gave birth to 3 girls, very similar in age and remained loose friends for 3 decades. My mother always fancied the idea of me ending up with one of them. The other two girls actually lived in the next city over though and my sister and I were a bit "outsider" to their circle of friends. In particular, one of them... She is a dead ringer for Kina. Gorgeous head of dark curls, a smile that can light up a room, 7000 miles away. We actually had many of the same interests and we were both very nice people who spent most of our youth putting a large amount of time volunteering and helping elderly and disadvantaged people. We ended up getting almost the exact same guitar many years later, totally independently and she learned to play and sing like a songbird... pretty similar sound to Kina too, about 10 years before YT. I actually liked her quite a bit as we both grew up and occasionally met in various circumstances, from family barbecues at her house as a child, family outings at the local lagoon in her area, at various parties once we were old enough to drive and one magical evening on the lawn in front of the house I was living at a going away house party shortly before I left Canada when I discovered her breathtaking voice... but I lacked the tools to express my feelings - and probably didn't really understand them very well anyways. Unfortunately, we were both kinda quiet "nice kids" and as you know in life, nice guys finish last. Both of us went largely ignored by our peers romantically and we were both still single in our late 20's. However, I was in Asia at the time and she was in Canada. When I was here for a couple of years, my sister was with me as we did a small hike and we sat for a rest on a stone and talked. Our conversation somehow moved over to this girl and how, of all the girls my sister knew, she thought she would be the best match for me and she knew she was starting to look to settle down too. My sister didn't know, but we had started talking for a couple of months by email and started to kindle something, which brought me tremendous joy... however, it petered out because of the physical distance between us was just too much for her to overcome. When I went back to Canada a little while later, I ran into her in a chance encounter and found out that she had married a nice young man in her area after just 4 months of dating. I still remember when we spoke and she told me and that tiny wince of pain as a lifetime of dreams were suddenly shattered into a million pieces... barely flickered through as I did my best to cover it up in my facial expressions. But I saw her see it in my eyes. She knew. We carried on the illusion for a few more minutes and then she was gone. I've not heard from her since and having lived in Asia now for nearly 2 decades, I've lost contact with all my friends in Canada. Even my sister, who is now a married mom, has lost contact. To my knowledge, she remains happily married with him. I hope she's happy. More than a decade later, I've gone through my own ups and downs. I've seen much, lost much and gained much. The man I wasn't as a teenager and in my early twenties, I have now become as a powerful and assertive man who has now encouraged literally hundreds of people at low points in their lives that young men and older men alike look up to. I have no idea what life would have held for me if I had ended up with her, but a strange feeling tells me that it wouldn't have gone as well as I wished. The man I have become is partly due to the depths I fell to as I failed in life as a youth, struggling with undiagnosed depression and a decision I made about 6 years ago to either live or die. I actually chose to die, but another chance encounter led me to end up going another way, thus the story of my life, making decisions and then eventually doing the exact opposite because life just has other ideas. But there will forever be a place in my heart for her. Closed of course, but always there. And always empty.
The amount of time and effort put into this video really paid off here. The animation was beautiful, I just can't get enough of the music, and it's just over all AMAZING! I do not use that term lightly. I was truly amazed throughout the entire video. Great job, Kina! I look forward to future projects! :3
OMG. This is the very first time I have seen this video. It has blown my mind. Gosh, it can't be true. So beautiful, and the song! is magical. It's perfect. It made me so happy just seeing it. Thanks!
Hush now, let's go quiet to the park where it first started Cold night, us lying in the dark I felt my heart was trying to find a place for you to stay A place where I'd feel safe Anything we have known Anything we've forgotten In the rain, in the dark we'll lay In your arms, in your arms I'll stay Take my hand, let's go into the trees Behind the branches, falling on our knees I remember feeling like this part of us would never change Anything we have known Anything we've forgotten In the rain, in the dark we'll lay In your arms, in your arms I'll stay Follow me We both know the way It's always been the same Anything we have known Anything we've forgotten In the rain, in the dark we'll lay In your arms, in your arms I'll stay
This song takes me back all the way to 6th grade in middle school, now I’m a senior in high school about to graduate 😭I can’t believe how much time has passed so fast, I wish I could just go back, even for a moment it would be nice
I just saw you live last night, you are sooo awesome. Its was my 1st show. Been following you for years. Told my friend alex I've always want to go to your show and to remind me when you do have one. I soooo happy you did this song live! Cant wait for the next show!
This is still a classic! I would play this song 10-11 yrs ago and son wouldn’t cry. Just watch the video! My daughter too. Such a great video! Wishing you the best that life can offer
THAT WAS AMAZING!!!! I could never do that if I tried!!!!!(I'd end up eating the jellybeans in the first 5 scenes) anyway u r soooo talented😆😆😆😆😆😆❗️❗️❗️❗️❗️❗️❗️❗️❗️❗️ I swear I watched this in awe with my mouth open! Omg I hope u make more I will even sit on my iPad and wait!!
This may sound weird, but this video is my secrete weapon while taking care of kids. Show this to a child rolling around and screaming and it instantly pacifies and intrigues them. Ideal to use before nap or bedtime. So in other words, Kina you wrote and filmed a masterpiece that reaches humans of all ages :)
I'll always remember my middle school computer graphics teacher showed our class this video, and it was the coolest thing ever. I'm gonna be a senior this year and this is still one of my favorite songs and music videos. Love you Kina
Oh hey, I remember this, I was kinda young when this first came out and I was in love with the fact that it was made with just jelly beans. That still astonishes me to this day and I just LOVE the visuals! Not to mention that this song won't leave my head. I used to watch this over and over when it's show up on the music video thing MTV used to do in the morning. It was on Nick before victorious as well, I think? Anyways, your work is awesome, Kina. It's great :D
1,357 hours, 288,000 jelly beans, and a lot of love. happy anniversary to the little video that changed my life.

Literally played the song and started crying I count figure out why but that era of life period was great and I nearly forgot it all
You won't see masterpieces like this often anymore. Decades later this song will always touch my heart.
I've only known the song and video since last year, and it immediately catapulted itself into my personal charts. I've probably watched it 100 times since then and it doesn't get any worse. A truly great masterpiece, both acoustically and visually, and something special in this form.

Lyrics :
Hush now, let's go quiet to the park where it first started
Cool night, us lying in the dark
I felt my heart was trying to find a place for you to stay
A place where I feel safe
Anything we have known, anything we've forgoten
In the rain, in the dark we'll lay
In your arms, in your arms I'll stay
Anything we have known, anything we've forgotten, in the rain, in the dark we'll lay
In your arms, in your arms i'll stay
Take my hand, let's go into the trees
behind the branches, falling on our knees
I remember feeling like this part of us will never change
Anything we have known, anything we've forgotten, in the rain, in the dark we'll lay
In your arms, in your arms I'll stay
Anything we have known, anything we've forgotten, in the rain, in the dark we'll lay
In your arms, in your arms I'll stay
Follow me, we both know the way
It's always been the same
Anything we have known, anything we've forgotten
In the rain, in the dark we'll lay
In your arms, in your arms I'll stay
Anything we have known, anything we've forgotten
In the rain, in the dark we'll lay
In your arms, in your arms I'll stay
In your arms I'll stay
In your arms I'll stay
In your arms I'll stay

Still one of the best music videos out there. I remember when this came out. Just wow
To see Kina come from this to a big budget movie 7 years ago...
I have been looking for this song for YEARS! This song would always be on MV in the morning when they used to play music! This makes me so happy to finally find it!
NOVEMBER 2017, Still listening to this, this song is a straight up masterpiece.
ME TOO
Hi there fellow November 2017 person!
If this had come out 25 years ago, it might have won video of the year.
This came up to my news feed just now and it triggers alot of memory when i was still in HS. The memories is kinda sad but i'm glad that i got the chance to remember it :)
I remember when this first came out, anyone else?
YESSSS
I am oooooooold hahahah this song is always on my playlist ^^
Still one of my favorite music videos of all time. I aspire to be like the animators that worked on this video.
I was in 6th grade......................damn
It makes me yearn for early MTV.
A piece of art made up of 2400+ pieces of art! Gorgeous!
Who else watched this every day for the past ten years with you mom and ever time you cried because its one of you favorite moments with your mom?
This is the first song I ever heard by you and it's currently 4:28 am and I'm rediscovering your music all over again!
I haven't watched this video in a few years, thought I'd come back...😄
This music vid is perfect, it deserves a hundred of million of views and likes
This song is amazing......video too! Cheered me up!
Lydia T XD

Gavin Meng =/ uh :P
Billy the Bobster XD *wink*
hahahaha
Her single best song ever, and music video. I remember watching this as a kid, and as an aspiring animator.
I remember being one of the first people to watch this back in 2011. Im so glad to see it come so far. ily Kina. Keep doing what you're doing :D :3
😭 Missing this song! Finally I got to hear this again!!!❤️❤️❤️ I missed the old days and the memories! 😭
It’s 2019, this came out 8 yrs ago and I remember when it was first uploaded
besides the interesting video, the rhythm of the music also gives a nostalgic impression. when listening to it, it's like my mind becomes chaotic because it reminds me of the atmosphere of life 10 years ago which was so memorable and made me happy.
Still one of the best music videos ever, by far! I'll never get tired of watching this :]
One of the few songs I have to listen to again, again and again.
And again.
This is a pretty amazing video Kina Grannis - incredible how this was done!
My dad showed me this when I was really little, every time I see this I think of him, I love you dad.
You deserve 5 billion views, this was way better than gangman style
that's a little bit too much (I know that this was 4 years ago0
"...using 288,000 Jelly Bellies and 1 Kina Grannis."
_"1 Kina Grannis."_
*_"1 Kina Grannis"_*
Singer and song writer that has a sense of humor. I love people like that.
Years later and I am still as impressed by this video. So much work and thought was put into this beauty. Amazing
This has got to be the most creative and best vid on UA-cam! I love the song just as much as I love the vid- and that's a lot!
Thank you. Keep it up, I meant it.

sir i need to know more 4 years later!
And always empty.
hope it all worked out!! -- Dylan R. XOXO
Thanks!
Hush now, let's go quiet to the park where it first started
Cold night, us lying in the dark
I felt my heart was trying to find a place for you to stay
A place where I'd feel safe
Anything we have known
Anything we've forgotten
In the rain, in the dark we'll lay
In your arms, in your arms I'll stay
Take my hand, let's go into the trees
Behind the branches, falling on our knees
I remember feeling like this part of us would never change
Anything we have known
Anything we've forgotten
In the rain, in the dark we'll lay
In your arms, in your arms I'll stay
Follow me
We both know the way
It's always been the same
Anything we have known
Anything we've forgotten
In the rain, in the dark we'll lay
In your arms, in your arms I'll stay
This song takes me back all the way to 6th grade in middle school, now I’m a senior in high school about to graduate 😭I can’t believe how much time has passed so fast, I wish I could just go back, even for a moment it would be nice
I just saw you live last night, you are sooo awesome. Its was my 1st show. Been following you for years. Told my friend alex I've always want to go to your show and to remind me when you do have one. I soooo happy you did this song live! Cant wait for the next show!
I dont usually have crushes on celebrity.. but when I do.. Kina Grannis..
three minutes and twenty eight seconds of pure genius
She's so creative and attractive. I wish this will ge recognize
+Cat David It was recognized back when it came out. She was on Ellen.
This is still a classic! I would play this song 10-11 yrs ago and son wouldn’t cry. Just watch the video! My daughter too. Such a great video! Wishing you the best that life can offer
This video deserves more views and likes
This is the most creative, original music video I've ever seen. Great song, too; it's really fun to sing. :D

So beautiful " Anything we have known, Anything we forgotten, in the rain, in the dark we'll lay, in your arms, in your arms I'll stay"
I was 10 years old when I first heard this song and I come back once in a while to remember the good times ❤️
This was my childhood sleepytime song.. ❤️❤️❤️
