  • The Chesapeake 1000 fitted with the Mighty Salvage Claw working to remove debris from the Baltimore Bridge Collapse Site.
This is a modified video from today's livestream sped up 20X to condense 4 hours of video into just over 12 minutes.
We over laid VHF radio transmissions from the livestream today to enhance the experience.
The Dali remains trapped by the steel that crashed down following the collision with the Francis Scott Key Bridge.

I’m still amazed at how massive the span is. Those aerial basket lifts are big but look so tiny compared to the Dali and truss section. Thank you for showing us how complex and dangerous this salvage and cleanup effort is and highlighting those workers who are helping.

At 5:24 shows the removal of the large piece of the bridge that was hanging on the starboard bow of the Dali. You can now see the extent of damage to the ship.

I saw that too. The Weeks crane had been strapped to it for a couple of days. I presume they stabilised it while it was cut free from other material. Then while we were watching the claw in foreground, they sped off with it at the back.

Came here on a rec from JeffoStroff's channel, and I am glad I did. This video REALLY shows the coordination of the various ships, crew, engineers and all of the other personnel required to clear out the debris and restore a safe passage for shipping in the channel.
So relieved that they were able to recover another lost soul from the channel and return him to his family and loved ones so they can start their recovery and closure process...❤😢

YES ! This time-lapse, even delayed a day, is most effective. In the real time I could not discern the dance of the scow back and forth like a sewing machine shuttle, backing away to allow the claw with its relatively limited mobility to operate, pull up a load, then the scow moved forward allowing the claw to deposit the load. That was beautifully evident in this video. Well done !

great coverage as ever Captain Andy, having the footage speeded up works just as well and still shows the importance of the work to be taken with so much care - as i have said before, its one thing to build a bridge, maneuvering such huge pieces into place, its a totally different ball game to disassemble some thing so huge in a safe manner when every part sits at such crazy angles than it was designed for - there is a certain irony in some ways that it was a pretty strongly constructed bridge, its just a shame the two central piers weren't of heavier construction and with more adequate precautions and guards at the base - perhaps other bridges that might be at similar risk will be addressed in the light of larger ships on the seas today

I set resolution to the highest number, and was zooming to see the cherry picker crew, their inspection of the large trusses. There was some kind of video edge effect happening. My guess is video processing added the effect, and no amount of high resolution would enhance the image. So I dropped back down to low resolution, as the experience was identically same. I'm not sure the high res is doing anything, if the video is processed, but I'm not sure if that's a correct assumption.
