I just want to commend Laura’s ability to film in the midst of a wind storm and make us feel like we are all there!
I loved the footage of the storm! From cape town, the cape if storms!
The cape of storms!
I agree, I felt the wind 😂😂
But not mind the wind at all!
I meant before the big windstorm! Wow!
I’m so glad that you didn’t stop filming and showed us what weather you occasionally have to deal with.
I agree. We get wind but we don't have the desert soil. Watching it fly by sideways was impressive in the worst way!
I remember 4/5 years ago Laura got a huge windstorm and it really did a number on what she had JUST planted ! So upsetting ! Glenda
We have hurricanes here on the SC coast, but no winds that just pop up midday (and almost just as strong as a TS!) and then die away. Crazy that you have to deal with that all the time! Thank you for showing us. You had little warning....at least with hurricanes we have days to prepare.
WOW, Laura! You are one AMAZING camerawoman!! Talk about reality TV at its finest!! Didn’t expect this morning’s video to be so THRILLING, EXCITING and ACTION- PACKED!! So happy that y’all made out okay 💚💚💚
Why is everything big and new called by a candy name?? They are stunning 😍 WOW..blustery day!
That pink radiance is beautiful. Can you imagine the creativity it took God to create each and every little flower and bug that grows in your garden? It is amazing to me ❤❤
Isn’t evolution amazing!
" Praise to the Lord, the Almighty, the King of Creation ! "
It really is amazing 🙌🏼
That wind storm was crazy! No wonder you worry about your plants and trees! All I could think about was Dorothy, Toto, and the wizard of Oz!!😮
I live in Dorothy and Toto land and the wind blows daily.
Daily?! Oh gosh! @tammybailey4330
😊@@tammybailey4330
That us what I was thinking too. 😀
I was saying “auntie ‘Em! auntie em!😂
Laura, I don't know about anyone else, but I can rarely hear ANY background noise (unless someone is mowing very close to you). I don't think you need to worry about it.
You all correct me if that is not (or is also) your experience.
I vote for no boxwoods down that lane. I think it looks clean and fresh!
Cheryl I was thinking the same thing !! There's never any background noise that is bothersome, hardly ever notice it !!
I agree. No boxwoods.
Laura don’t ever worry about neighbourhood sounds, hammers, saws, dogs barking whatever when you’re filming that’s real life and it’s normal life. We love and support you and what you’re doing no worries.
What a scary wind storm. Thankful everyone and everything was ok. Don't worry about the background noise. We don't pay any attention to it. Love all your videos.
May sound strange, but there is so much excitement, beauty and awe in watching a garden in rain, winds and storms.
I'm impressed with how Laura knew exactly what needed to be buttoned up during this wind storm and kept filming on the run.
I can’t imagine, trying to garden in an area that gets wind like that, whew! What a testament to Laura and Aaron’s perseverance and resilience. ♥️
I live in the same area. We live on hope and prayer for all the trees lol I had a neighbors trampoline roll across our backyard last year and thank God it didn’t take out any of my young trees or David Austin roses!
Yes bring the box wood down it doesn't look complete
Girl I was freaking out when that wind blew in. Like an Oklahoma tornado without the twister. Thankful everything survived. Love seeing the beautiful plants in the lovely spaces. Be still my heart!❤
When I saw Aaron and your helper fighting the wind, you running from building to building, it seemed you were experiencing the storm from the Wizard of Oz in Kansas!!! Thank God everything was ok! The flowers and plants looked great too. Thanks!
His name is Paul.
@@titosrevenger Thanks! My mind just went blank when I was writing the comment.
You have talked about the wind storms before, but seeing it is an experience in itself. Glad your plants stayed standing.
I have SO much to say, but I'll just sum it up: I learn soooo much from you & you inspire me every single day! Thank you!!💚
Seeing the wind storm that you had, shows us viewers just how strong the winds are that you talk about.
Auntie Em, Auntie Em….WHOA! 😳 Glad everything calmed down. My cup of coffee, you and your sweet family, gardening are one of my most favorite ways to start my day! And let’s not forget Cheddar, Russell and Douglas 🤗 🌸 🪴 ☕️ 🐈 ☀️ 💨
Did you see Cheddar in this video? I have trouble distinguishing between Cheddar and Russell. I have only been seeing two cats as of late. Concerned animal lover! 🙏🙏
I've been asking to see Cheddar also. I'm concerned ever since Aaron mentioned he didn't like his spraying on a previous video and may have to be removed.
Russell is darker color than Cheddar. Today you saw Russell only . In the tour video someone commented that they knew the family and that they killed him.
Today you only saw Russell hei is darker color. In the tour video someone commented that they knew the family and that they killed him. I don’t know if it’s true or not. And I just posted my comment and it got deleted.
I was concerned about you folks when the wind storm started to come through. Glad there was no awful damage done. I like your roses in the beautiful containers! Have a great afternoon!
Those roses look so charming in their pots flanking the path to the Hartley! Overall, I can’t believe how much you’ve gotten done in such a short time and I LOVE how everything looks!❤😊
I agree! The view in the background, including the house, was absolutely beautiful!
Oh, Laura, I am so sorry, I lived in West Texas many years, and the wind, sand and late cold fronts were just a given! I am so glad there was no damage to trees and plants, every thing in all the areas is just lovely this spring!
My garden experiences many days of strong winds. Our mature trees grow on a lean, did yours do that? It's tough on plants. Over the years we've learned what grows and have taken lots of tips from GA's.
A BLESSED EVENING EVERYONE!!!!!
I’m glad that young trees didn’t knock down from wind storm.
I love bleeding hearts. It reminds me of my grandfather, he would separate them and show me the hidden treasures. Have you showed that to the kids yet? For people unaware you can look up bleeding heart folklore. The flower opens to show bunny slippers and a Champagne bottle and other things. I love the little story. Enjoy the day.
Now that was truly some high winds. Even with days like that, I truly enjoy starting my day with a good cup of Folgers coffee and GA working in the garden, just absolutely keeps me motivated to get in my medium size garden. Thank you GA for always sharing and posting your garden and other gardens around the globe. It has truly helped me to shape my garden into a place where my friends and family enjoy stopping by for a visit to sit outside.Happy Gardening everyone!

So glad you Aaron and Paul didn't get blown away!! Paul looked like he was going to with that umbrella!! Those rose trees look awesome in those beautiful planters.... everything looks great.❤❤❤
Seriously. I thought we were going to see some Mary Poppins action. 😂
A testament to Laura’s personality, a storm is coming and she is concerned for the people down the way who had a fire going. I love watching your videos. Thank you.
You would think they would have known there was wind coming and not allowed burning. This is how these huge fires start in Oregon, besides lightning. I hope their fire was out before the wind hit.
That wind was intense... 😳 glad there were no tree casualties! Well done to paul dragging that huge umbrella through that craziness!! 👏
The heucheras look lovely in that spot. As do the roses 🌹 ✨️ ☺️ x
I start my days watching your latest videos. As an avid gardener I say THANK YOU to all of you who help create this beautiful garden for all of us to enjoy, with so many helpful ideas. I have family members and friends who are ranchers and understand the importance of hard work and getting the job done. Your team and videos are reflective of those work ethics.
Holy! Now I finally get when you say you get bad wind storms
Live action footage with Laura 🌬️ you’re a rockstar in that wind with camera! Mother Nature is sure something! Yes Yes Yes to boxwoods down the path!
I appreciate you showing your weather. We forget you are in high desert. ❤ glad “almost” everything survived the snap and blow!
Good morning all have a safe and blessed day ❤️
About the calming green: The longer I garden, the more I realize that a solid canvas of green structure and texture is what truly makes a garden beautiful. I adore flowers. Adore!! And yet a riot of color is sometimes just that: riotous.
Hey Laura! The delicate lacing of the Heuchera blooms is a lovely lead over to the red Japanese Maples. The new roses are such beauties. Thank you, as always. What a charming start to my day. PS, my heart goes out to you all for the wind storm coming through. We often get gales blowing through and I always cringe when watching the garden out the window.
Wow! That wind storm! How amazing to be along vicariously! Thanks, Laura. ❤❤
Laura thank you! I needed to watch someone get through adversity to remind me that I can as well. I have a shock therapy treatment today. Unfortunately I am in a low place. But watching you reminded me that I have done before and I can do it again!
💞🙏
Well that was terrifying! It is amazing how your garden withstands your weather! So happy everything did well.
Wanted to tell you that I received my Garden Answer planting pad! I just love it! Used it for the first time yesterday planting! Wowza that was a nasty wind storm. You have such a beautiful and strong garden! Amazing that you do not sustain damage to your trees and plants! And that you captured that much of the storm! Love watching and learning from all your videos!🌺🌷🌸💕
"I don't want to crowd it to much" hahaha good one Laura!
Im so sorry about the frost damage. But the filming was awesome! I believe yall really had a tough one there. But thank you for letting us see it. God protect yall!!❤❤
OMG the wind storm was scary!!! I was speechless to see your garden and the trees during the storm. I can’t imagine having a garden like yours in this kind of weather. You kept saying about wind storms in your previous videos but I never imagined how scary it can get. Thanks for sharing. After the storm it was indeed a new day.
Love the real- time video , esp on dealing with sudden weather! Way to stay chill!
Thank you Laura for also filming the storm because I thought as perfect as everything always looks that you have perfect weather too and now I know you are like all of us who have to deal with all this weather. Thank you for all your video's I love your channel and look forward to each new day so I get to watch you all!!! Sending Love and Prayers from Oklahoma!!🥰🥰🙏🙏
I love your job, representing flowers bushes and showing us how gorgeous nature is.
I think it would look great to continue the boxwood hedge near the Hartley. That walkway is so much a part of that space I think it will tie in nicely. Cheers!
No more boxwoods around the Hartley...needs to be little bit more relaxed..but that just me...
love the tree roses, I think I might get a couple!! Thank you
Watching Paul rescue the umbrella from the wind brought back memories of growing up in Boulder, CO with crazy winds coming crashing down over the mountains. Glad all your trees are ok!
I think it would be beautiful if you planted lavender along that walkway to the Hartley instead of boxwoods. 💕😊
Laura, you are the epitome of what you go through to produce such awesome gardens. I just wish I had one-tenth the energy you have. But at 86, I can only admire everything you do. Thank you for all you do.
Wow, that was an exciting video! I had no idea how fierce your wind storms are. I'm so happy for you that you didn't lose trees or plants. Hope the kiddos weren't freaked out.
WOW! That wind is intense.Have a wonderful weekend all.
Laura, watching you just randomly plant your beauties in the ground has given me more courage to do the same! Yesterday I went to a couple of nurseries and found some shade/sun plants that are supposed to be deer resistant. I’ve placed them where I plan to plant them as soon as the rain subsides here in western Oregon!
Your lace needs to be a National landmark! It's so beautiful and y'all work so hard! So amazing! I would pay an entrance fee just to come and stroll your property.❤❤❤❤
Laura what an amazing job, filming and sharing with us that wind storm....OMG. Glad all is good!
Thanks for showing us how it is when you garden not just sunny all the time this was a great video on how the weather comes and goes and sometimes hurts or garden but it's life and this is the most realistic video so far,I learn so much from you Laura.Hugs from NC
I have been in awe of your talent for years!
Wow! That was one wild windstorm. Glad that you’re all safe!
I enjoyed you letting us enjoy your wind storm so very much, Thank you. You guys are the BEST.
I would love to see more wind storm footage.. you talk about it so much it was cool to see it! Maybe a camera set up looking out from one of your many windows!
I am sure all of us want to see a garden tour in a windstorm. ❤
Good thing everything is fine! That wind storm is very strong.
I like the “no boxwoods” idea leading from the Hartley. Looks clean and fresh as is, those roses in containers are all you need. I also have silver gumdrop heucheras, but I think I may have them in too much sun, as they seem to be struggling every year. Can heucheras be moved easily?
Oh my lanta! The wind looks horrible, if we had wind like that in Michigan it probably turn into a tornado. I'm so grateful everyone was safe.
I am so thankful you are safe. That was so scary. God bless and keep you and your family safe. Love you all.
Thankyou for this encouraging podcast! I love how you and Aaron overcome through the trials of gardening and help us grow in our knowledge to persist also.If we learn through our set backs then nothing is wasted!!!!!!
A vote for bringing the boxwoods down the path
Nice to all the areas you showed.
My vote... no to the boxwoods.
It's nice to have open areas. When boxwoods are present, it seems like that's all you notice even if other things are planted near. The boxwoods just steal the show.
What a wind storm!
Wow what a quick approaching storm and Laura continued filming while taking care of everything. Beautiful plants
Glad you had no damage
I think this is the first time I heard of ice-plants on this channel. I've been eyeing them this season but went back to wondering has Laura ever planted these? :). My picks for plants come from this channel 100%!
Laura, I was so worried for you.
And then you run into the glass house 😂
I'm happy everything is okay. ❤
Loved the video
That is encouraging that the heucheras made it through 27 degrees! Guess maybe I can get some for zone four!
I live on the eastern plains of Colorado, we get wind and storms like that as well. I didn’t realize your area did also!
I just love the silver gumdrops in that area. Thank you for sharing
No boxwood keep it clean
Hello, that windstorm was cool/ dangerous happy all the trees and plants survived and no one was hurt. I think where the boxwoods stops is fine but I do think you need something along the pathway area. Something low growth with blooms no more boxwoods.Shame no water to that koko bush 😜luckily it has you! Now all is well .nice seeing you momma Laura take care
I also live in the treasure valley, I love the interesting weather we have, with the exception of the havoc it does to our trees especially! the mad dashes to bring things in or under shelter. It keeps things interesting!
Wow what an amazing storm capture ! So glad all is well ! 🙏🏼
I got my kneeling pad!!! Yeaaaa! So soft! Thank you. Glad you changed your mind on where you put the heuchera. I was thinking exactly what you said. Plus it gives that baby one a chance to grow 😊
I think it would be beautiful and so fragrant to line both sides with lavender.
Goodness what a wind ❤️
Omg this Oregon weather has been crazy this spring! I’ve got seedlings in the ground that are getting soooo much rain!
Wow! The wind storm looks like something out of a movie.
Wow that wind! I hope the people building that house behind y’all are ok. I also love the look of shades of green with a small pop of red. 😊
And just like that the wind shows up! Holy Moly!
Love the color of the rose❤❤❤
Good Morning
Nice sharing flower planting & garden sharing
Beautiful place environment.
Another great one, Laura! Love the heucheras and the roses!
Those are gorgeous heukera. Wow
Oh wow, a dessert wind storm! Laura, I’m sorry, but so had to chuckle seeing Aaron heading inside while you saved the green house plants. 😅
Wow that was a windstorm. Glad everything and everyone made it through without damage. Love the new plants. I just love seeing you filling in areas and making everything look so beautiful. Have blessed day.
Always enjoy your videos! Such beautiful inspiration for my own little garden. I’ve learned so much! Thank you again and again for your expertise and love of gardening. 💕
Go Paul! You saved the umbrella 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Wow! That was some wind 😳 definitely keep going with the boxwoods. ❤ looks. Beautiful 😊
I planted a smaller pot of ice plant, last year, on my little back porch. It did so well...loved the succulent leaves and pretty purplish pink blooms.
The colors of the different shades of green are so beautiful. I love it.
's amazing how your garden over there's a looks ❤ now.❤❤❤
YES YES YES IT WILL LOOK LOVELY.
Oh the west coast. I sure do miss your winds. ❤ 🍃💨 Here in the east coast we dont get them like that at all. But i do miss my Santa Ana winds.
That dirt storm. Big huggicates 😊!
Extending the boxwood would look great! Go for it!
Wow, you really got a wind storm. We had a huge wind a few years ago. Trees were coming down by the hundreds , it was crazy.
