  • Come along for a little garden tour. It's only mid April in my zone 6b Mid Missouri garden...which means my shrubs, roses and perennials are just waking up. Today I hired our a very labor intensive project...cutting in a sharp edge around my garden beds and laying down a fresh layer of mulch. Thank goodness my son has his own landscpaping business and brought his crew over to get the job done.

It’s going to look great! I’m far away from you but have a lot of the same plants 😊. How lucky to have all that help from your family.

Thank you so much. Yes…I am grateful that this year I was able to get help with this big task. While I’ve done it myself over the years…it takes me FOREVER! Haha. Work smarter, not harder when I can. Happy Gardening.

Looks nice, but your evergreen trees are going to get brown needles in the middle and fall on your mulch. I know this from experience. Gets messy.

Are you thinking I shouldn't have planted the arbs or shouldn't have mulched? We mulch most of our planted areas, including under trees. Falling leaves, needs, branches are part of our regular garden maintenance. What might you recommend?
