By implementing the ModelGauge™ m5 EZ algorithm, this fuel gauge eliminates battery characterization for most popular Li+ cells, greatly improving time-to-market. The algorithm leads to an accurate prediction of SOC that improves the user experience as well as enhanced safety across a wide range of benign and harsh operating conditions. Furthermore, the low quiescent current of the IC allows for longer shelf life and longer run-time. Integration of fuel gauge, protection control, and authentication enhances safety and minimizes the bill-of-materials (BOM) and PCB area.
