I ordered and received two and short of firmware glitches I had no problems. I have to learn to do the firmware updates that I havent had time to do no problems. My first ham handy talkie cost close to 900 dollars many years ago and was an ICOM Z1A awesome little radio but the plastic body just was not strong enough. These batteries for these radios are 2500 mah. And for suppling over 1.5 amps during key down they work pretty well.
This is a great little radio it is solid construction, great battery, very bright functional display great features with built in programming chip and Bluetooth, good clean output and good clean it would be nice to have GPS but thats not a problem, if anyone is in two minds I would say go for it you wont be disappointed a step up from the H8
Regarding "unlocking:" If you choose #3 "Normal" to unlock the bands...is the radio then "unlocked" each and every time you turn it on ?...If I was to enter frequencies on the channel numbers I wanted...used the radio...then turned it off...and then tomorrow turned it back on (without going through the unlock procedure...would I get the same channel results I had installed previously ?????????? Would the radio be "unlocked" until I did the button hold down process again ?????
That's what I was wondering if you could keep all unlocked.. does this go up to 500 for tx/rx does any1 know? Also does this work for both versions ham and gmrs models?
Nice video! did you know How can i save frequency 119,400 as a channel? I have tried with chirp and with the manufacturer's software, but I have not been able to, because an error appears: it is not a supported frequency. However, I can hear that frequency. thanks again!
Hi, I scan some frequencies that I use at work, but when I try to send my voice it won't go out, any idea why ? I can ear them clearly but they can´t ear me. please help
@@joebishop7909 if in normal mode you can receive VHF airband This is a killer little radio. Pair it with a smiley 5/8 duck 462 MHz antenna. Works awesome Best bang for your buck
As a customer I have some suggestions, all radios should come with the manual in Portuguese, I know it can be translated, but it would be better to come in Portuguese, the Odmaster application would have to have the language in Portuguese, the radio should have the language in Portuguese and not just in English and Japanese, they had to make a video explaining all the radio menus, exemplifying each one of them to know how to use and configure...
These batteries die fast ... something real wrong with their batteries .. beware. Ordered two .. one arrives DOA .. got Tidradio to send an entire radio with battery to me .. and now I have three radios with two dead batteries.. flashes red and green when trying to charge, their book says means battery dead dead dead.
@@DeepDishPizza welp like I said I still have doa batteries..but Tidradio did reach out to me and send me two more batteries..just took two months. Just putting it out there to know it happens.

Can we assume "Normal" is a complete unlock which allows the H3 to receive and broadcast on both ham and GMRS frequencies?
yes

Yes. You don't have to 'unlock' it every time.
Nice and easy. All radios should have this feature... but does it do VK CB?
I'll have to try it now.👍
So if I open that menu and select normal I’ll make my radio able to broadcast?

Can this be programmed to transmit on 477Mhz?
I locked and then unlock all by selecting Normal and now when I press the Pttp button it just says Cancel?

Yes Rx air band
Get a nice 771g antenna

You have to do it manually on the phone.

They may use a ctcss or dcs tone.
Part 2 for a how to?
What option is English
Does the ham and grms use the same antenna or do you have to purchase a different antenna for each band?
Same antenna. The TID has a common wideband whip which covers 400-480 MHz which is both HAM and GMRS bands.
@@HamRadioDX thank you
on the youtube channel pu4bla I saw this radio on 27 Mhz how did he do that?
The latest firmware unlocks receive down 18 MHz narrow FM only.
There are several TD-H3's, some say ham only, others say GMRS, How to know which one to get ?
Which band of frequencies do you want? GMRS or Ham? I believe either can be unlocked for the other band
@@HamRadioDX I want one that can do both. Will the one you have a link to do both bands ?
On their site, you choose ham or gmrs.
It's unlocked by this selection and shipped. Either one can be unlocked for (normal) both gmrs & ham
@@MindKontrolleProject Thanks, can both do air band ?
