Wow..LOL Yeah, this is, most definitely, not for you. You weren’t even able to hear the first five seconds before you allowed yourself to be distracted.
You need to do a tool album review, Maynard has said they make albums in hopes people listen front to back, the tracks are meant to play off one another, but I do have my favorites and this is one of them. Nice review!
in the song he talked about the devil and getting everything he ever wanted “tempted the devil with my song and got what I wanted all along” so when he says “ I would wish it all away, if I thought tomorrow would take you away” he is referring to the riches him and his band (Tool) have made on their previous albums. It is an intimate song about someone close to the author
If you going to try to break down lyrics you need to have the lyrics in front of you. I don't care if you like the band or not, but at least try to sound intelligent. That was a painful reaction. So you basically disrespect four of the greatest musicians that have ever walked the face of this earth. Your perfectly entitled to your opinion, but at least have something intelligent to say.
What you're hearing that sounds Harmonica/Batman theme-ish is called a Talk Box. It allows the guitarist to apply speech sounds onto the guitar. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk_box Tool does not go on in the background. Ever. But I'm real curious... this beat/song isn't anything that you haven't heard before? But what other tracks Tool or non-Tool sound like this one? BTW, the most common interpretation of this song is that it's about Maynard trading in his rock star life to be closer to his son. At least that's what I get from the first few bars. After watching a few of these and checking out your other content, Tool will def continue to baffle and bore you. A steady (and repetitive) 4/4 beat and strong and straightforward lyrics is something Tool does not do. That would be AC|DC or Green Day kind of rock stuff. No apologies nec. I'm here if you want to continue torturing yourself with Tool.😆 Ænima? "Hooker with a Penis? Those lyrics are easy to get, IMO. At least you'll get a laugh and lighten the mood. Drop some Little Simz on the channel. Homegirl brings that Brit flava. "Venom" was her breakout. Public Enemy?
