It was simply amazing to watch you work on that cake and see it come together. So kind and thoughtful of you to make the cake extra special for Kayleigh - it'll be a birthday to remember. Love your videos.
HAPPY 10th BIRTHDAY, KAYLEIGH!!!!!😄💕🌺🎂🎉 Have a blessed year! Karolyn, you're sooo sweet! I knew that you were before this, but this just proves how wonderful you are!! You're a blessing to many!❤
Whew!!! Wow!!! That's a lot of work but rewarding 😀. I learned so much with the tracing and cutting method. God Bless you for the gift you gave her to make her day special. ❤❤❤
What a lovely touch from you karolyn to do that for Kayleigh, as always your cakes are amazing so professionally decorated always learning from you, love your energy and giving us all your tips and tricks and not afraid to share your talent. Thank you. From Ireland 🇮🇪.
Brilliant cake! Love watching your videos your always so happy and how caring by giving such a beautiful cake, my grandsons birthday party 1 person turned up, he was so happy with the spongebob cake I made him he really didn't mind as he had cake and all his family..just makes you feel better when you can see their face light up. 💕
Fabulous as always☺ I'm always mesmerized by your fondant pieces because you make them look sooo realistic. Thank you for sharing your gifts with all of us♥
You truly are a kind soul for making this cake special for Kayleigh. Thank you for sharing your beautiful talent with us. This is such a detailed cake decoration. Thank you for showing us how you decorated this cake step by step. I love watching your videos. Always stay blessed.
Fantastic cake as always! So nice of your to upgrade her cake, you have a kind heart.! I love watching you do the trace, cut, and smooth method because it is still confusing to me if the picture has several small pieces. Thanks for sharing! Happy caking 😊
It's tedious, but basically the same process for everything. I understand the detailed pieces are more challenging because sometimes you have to look beyond the picture to figure out what you need to do. It gets easier with practice!
I absolutely love this cake design! Wow the way you added texture to the frosted cake layers is so easy. I definitely need to try that. Thank you for all the tips and tricks in this video.
New subscriber and have binged so many of your videos in the last few days. I love the method of adding texture - it's such a cool texture and I'd have never thought of it!
OMG love this cake! 🔥🔥🔥, I learned that technique you used with the plastic wrap to texture the cake. I’m definitely going to try that on a cake soon. Thank you for sharing ❤🎉🎂🔥🫶🏻
I finally got the nerve to make my first cake a month or so ago, and then the same lady called and wanted another for her little girl. I was extremely excited to make another one for her. I wanted to thank you for all the information and tips you give in all your videos. You not only give information but confidence as well and let everyone know it's okay to make mistakes and you learn from fixing them. Lots of love and respect!!!!
Would it be okay to send you a picture of them to your email, I know you are super busy and have so much to do in a day, I don't want to bother you@@KarolynsKakes
I can't believe how amazing every video is. You have chapters and link everything!!! It's Amazing!!! Thank you so much for sharing all you do!! How did you learn all the video/you tube stuff??!!❤❤❤❤
Thanks girl! It was a process, in the beginning I had to Google EVERYTHING. Even adding the chapters, I had no idea how to do it! Then I bought a course teaching how to optimize and upload correctly. It talks about how to title your videos and thumbnails, etc. But she stopped selling that course since. I believe there are many other courses out there, it's totally worth the investment if you want to do it! I'm now trying to learn the ins and outs of TT and it's overwhelming LOL!
I just love watching you create a detailed cake like this. And how did you ever come up with the plastic wrap idea for texture? Thank you for sharing and keep on caking 💜
Love, love the cake! I always learn something in all your videos. I never thought to dip the dry tip into edible food color. Great tip! (get it...tip.._🙂 I know I'm a corn ball 🤣
Feel like that happens alot nowadays. My step daughter s birthday this year, 2 people said they could make it others were going on vacation etc. And then the 2 canceled the day of. One claimed their thumb was in pain. Like really?! It was a pool party lol. You don't need your thumb. Luckily my stepdaughter didn't mind because a neighbor ended up going to the party so she had a friend.
Happy Belated Birthday Kayleigh!!! This cake is super adorable !! The colors are super cute!! Question? How often do you change your blade on your exacto knife?
Thank you! I only freeze the cake layers after I bake them. Once I thaw, fill, and frost the cakes, they go in the refrigerator, not the freezer. You MUST control the environment that you bring the cake in to from the fridge. Meaning, it has to be cold in your house. (My air is always on blast, I need a sweatshirt when I'm working!) If it's too hot in the room you bring it to, then condensation will form. Here's a video where I talk about it: ua-cam.com/video/bBPjGzEMZaw/v-deo.html
I love to watch your work it's easy to follow. But I have a question I'm from the Caribbean I follow your butter cream recipe but I'm getting a lot of bubbles can you give me some tips
Try not to mix the icing too much, you'll beat a lot of air into it. You can also add a TINY bit more liquid and take a spatula and stir the icing by hand after you make it. Here's a video where I talk about it: ua-cam.com/video/RLZ49rMUxQM/v-deo.html
@karolinekakes that was so kind of you. I'm curious about how many cakes you manage to make in one week. However I will ask how many tiers instead since all cakes are different sizes.
I have 2 cake fridges and can fit 16 tiers total in them. But it all depends on the size and height of the cakes. I can't have 3 cakes each with a 14" cake drum on the bottom because all 3 won't fit in my fridges once they are assembled. So that's something I have to figure out in advance when I'm taking orders for the week!
Do you just let your thicker fondant decorations air dry? I’ve used the oven light trick and it seemed to help. And Also have seen a tip that you can pop them in the oven at 175 degrees for 15 minutes but would definitely first try it on something that didn’t take too long just in case!
Yes you definitely can! The Tylose / Gum Tex powder helps the pieces dry hard, so I just leave them at room temp and they set up usually within 24 hours.

I do that texture a lot, it's super simple and looks really cool!
Another great tip about the edible marker ink. Thank you!
Yes! And you can use airbrush coloring as well if you need to do it with other colors.
Super cool and cute cake 💜💙
Thank you 🤗
Love it! ❤❤

I see what you did there! 😂
I'm sure airbrush coloring would work as well for other colors. 🙌
Awe that so sad people didn't show up for her party. You have a kind heart to upgrade her cake.
I felt so bad for her so at least this made her smile!

Happy Belated Birthday Kayleigh!!! This cake is super adorable !! The colors are super cute!!
Question? How often do you change your blade on your exacto knife?
Thank you love! Usually 2-3 times per month. If I have a slow week and don't cut a lot of fondant, then it lasts longer (obviously LOL)
Beautiful and Amazing as always❤. Question I see you freeze your cakes how do prevent condensation for your while working with the fondant details
Thank you! I only freeze the cake layers after I bake them. Once I thaw, fill, and frost the cakes, they go in the refrigerator, not the freezer. Could you please do a video on how to watermark your pictures/videos. Thanks in advance any tips are greatly appreciated
I got a projector for decorating cookies , so now, for cakes I no longer have to trace lol. Now I do , project cut and smooth 😂
That works too!! 🎉🙌
How long does it usually take you to make tbese fondanf accessories
It depends on how detailed they are. A simple one could be 5-10 minutes, while a detailed one can take 60-90 minutes!
Can you make a mistakes video. Like how do you fix a cake when the fondant rips or it bakes unlevel, or when you mess up an icing color,
This is a great request! I make mistakes all the time so I have to film them as they happen and then I will put it together. I have it in my notes!
