Thank you so much! I like to make them so the colors coordinate with the cake. I never bought macarons, but I'm sure matching the colors exactly would be challenging!
Karolyn you are brilliant AND amazing! I thought those were real macarons! Does this talent come natural to you or do you learn as you go? This is so beautiful. God bless you sweetie. Always love watching your videos. 🙏🏻❤️
Thank you for the tutorial of this beautiful cake. I love how realistic the macarons look. Initially I thought they were real macarons. I also love the way cut them using a cling wrap on the fondant. I don’t usually work with fondant as it intimidates me. Especially covering a cake with fondant. I have never done it. You make it seem so simple and easy. I love watching your videos. Thank you so much again. Always stay blessed. ❤
Thats just amazing you keep doing it..jaw dropping cakes, everything about this cake is amazing love the colours you achieved ❤ then the bows 😮 and as for the macaroons unbelievable, i love the way you make bows, its just mind blowing.....
Very Pretty!! Reminds me of a Tiffany box. I've tried making macarons and as you say: Not my jam but I have confidence in doing in your way & love that idea. Happy Sunday!
This is freakin adorable!! The macarons are so lifelike.. Wow your marshmallow fondant is so smooth, it seems like adding a bit of cmc powder makes the fondant easier to work with compared to just kneading it and covering the cake and it starts to tear causing you to reply it to the cake..
Absolutely gorgeous and some great learnings too. Didn't know about that plastic wrap technique on the buttercream and that macarons could be made out of fondant that easily
You can't take the cake out of the fridge and bring it into a warm room. The air conditioning must be on to keep the house cold or else condensation will form. I talk about it in this video: ua-cam.com/video/bBPjGzEMZaw/v-deo.html
You always have such smooth edges and beautiful bows but the macarons are so realistic. Just wondering wondering why the client didn't want real ones . Is there a difference in price? Thank you for sharing and keep on caking 💜
Just curious, how long does your piping gel stay fresh? I cant get it where I live so I made my own and it went moldy within a few days even though it was in the fridge
Hi Karolyn ! When you dowel the whole cake, there is no hole in the cake board of the top tier, so how does the dowel go through the board without crushing the bottom tier ? I hope you can understand my question !
Okay, so I clearly know nothing about cake pricing. I was thinking it would be 5 or close to $600 for such intricate work. I guess I don't need to be in this business because I would be overcharging lol. Amazing job as usual!!
This design was simple for me! To decorate the whole thing probably took less than 3 hours. When I price my cakes, I mainly charge for the complexity of the design!
You may be taking too long to put the fondant on. I usually cover my cake within 5 minutes. The icing is still hard the entire time I'm working on it. If it takes too long, the icing will start to soften and then can squish out. Unfortunately this is something where you get faster with practice! How long do you think it takes you to cover a cake?
This is actually the first time I made macarons for a cake! I know they are challenging to get right and thought this way was much easier. Plus I can make them an exact match to the colors of the cake!
Karolyn, you're RIDICULOUS! Those macarons lookSO REAL! OMG, I can't even stand it right now.
💜🙏
I love that big bow. The sweet design paired with the soft colors makes for a beautiful cake
I cannot get over how beautiful this cake is. I love how soft the colors are and those macarons… girl I mean come on….genius ❤️❤️❤️
Awwww thanks boo!! 💜
That is a beautiful piece of art !!! Regards from Puerto Rico 🇵🇷
Thank you!!
The macarons looks so real! Love how easy you made it look to make them--so much better than trying to bake some! Beautiful cake.
I'm scared to even attempt to make real ones! LOL
Love how you made the bows and cookies, but I love the whole cake
Thank you Sarah! 😊
Every time I’ve seem macarons on cakes the decorator bought macarons to put on the cake. These were amazing I wouldn’t have known the difference.
Thank you so much! I like to make them so the colors coordinate with the cake. I never bought macarons, but I'm sure matching the colors exactly would be challenging!
Those macarons look fabulous and the box was so pretty.
Thank you love!
Love the way unexplained things. Beautiful cake

Yes! I NEVER use marshmallow fondant without adding the powder to it. Once it works its magic, it makes it so smooth and stretchy!
I just love your videos. You're so helpful xxx
I love you work or works Marvel very neat work
Excellent work

OMG so nice.
Thanks Trac!💜
Awesome
Amazing as always❤. Question I see you freeze your cakes how do prevent condensation for your while working with the fondant details
You can't take the cake out of the fridge and bring it into a warm room. The air conditioning must be on to keep the house cold or else condensation will form.
I talk about it in this video:

Absolutely stunning! Such pretty colours, where did you get your little ruler please I've been looking everywhere! 💕
Here ya go! amzn.to/3P3z0hL

I don’t know how to make the real ones so I told her I’d make fondant ones! 🤣🤣
Hey I just wanted to know when doing a 2 tiers cake what size pan to use
It depends on how many servings you'll need.
Here's a video where I talk about that: ua-cam.com/video/KiX9tQP9im8/v-deo.html
Just curious, how long does your piping gel stay fresh? I cant get it where I live so I made my own and it went moldy within a few days even though it was in the fridge
I use a lot of it, one container lasts me about a month. I never had issues with it getting mold though. 😢
Beautiful, how tall is each tier?
Top tier is 6.5" - 7", bottom tier is 5" - 5.5"
Hi Karolyn ! When you dowel the whole cake, there is no hole in the cake board of the top tier, so how does the dowel go through the board without crushing the bottom tier ? I hope you can understand my question !
Hi! I sharpen the dowel in a pencil sharpener that I only use for dowels (never for pencils). The point pierces through the cardboard!
@@KarolynsKakes Thanks Karolyn !
Yes I am enjoying your tutorial can you do a Spider-Man video
I'll film one the next time I make it!
Okay, so I clearly know nothing about cake pricing. I was thinking it would be 5 or close to $600 for such intricate work. I guess I don't need to be in this business because I would be overcharging lol. Amazing job as usual!!
Lol. That's better than undercharging
@@victoriasmith2965 Very true👍
I thought it would be 1000 dollars so you’d be in business more than me 🤣🤣🤣
@@GrammaPatriot 😂😂

Whenever I smooth my fondant and press down to the board, my buttercream squished out. I do put it in the fridge before putting on the fondant,

@@KarolynsKakes no too log. Probably 5 min. Probably too warm in my house
Wow
So you didn’t buy or make real macarons!! How clever!!!
Do you do that every time?
I saw the prices for those things!!
This is actually the first time I made macarons for a cake! I know they are challenging to get right and thought this way was much easier. Plus I can make them an exact match to the colors of the cake!
