  • In this video, we board the Spirit of Tasmania and give you a full Spirit of Tasmania tour. This ferry will take us all the way from Geelong, across the Bass straight, and into Devonport, Tasmania.
    We are incredibly excited for this Spirit of Tasmania crossing and to get into Tasmania. Where we'll use our limited time (and Kilometers) to explore as much of the state as we can!

    Howdyyawl from the land down under. My wife &I lived in Tassy for 3 years. The air is clean & crisp. There's a lot of roads, lots of driving. Keep your eyes on the road, the scenery is hard to resist when driving. We travelled on the Spirit 14 times when it used to go out of Pt Melbourne. You can't see Tassy in a short time, it takes a life time. Enjoy your stay😊

    Spirit has only been leaving from Geelong a couple of months. Prior to that it left from Port Melbourne. I've been twice and yes its rare to get a completely smooth crossing, Bass Strait can be a shocker.
    Great video..as always of course!! Hope you had a great Xmas!

    The double rooms are at the front of the ship and are not nice if it’s rough. I have crossed many times and haven’t had many seas above 2m - enjoy Tasmania it’s gorgeous

      Oooo that's good to know! We'll have to try a double room at some point, no doubt we'll be back in Tasmania eventually!

    Thanks guys for the vid. Did Jordan take any sea sickness meds before getting going on the ship? I'm going the end of this week with a friend, separate cabins, but same level being inside cabins and being almost winter suspect it's going to be far far rougher than you experienced. I"m not good with motion sickness particularly ships.

    • @JordanandEmily
      @JordanandEmily  3 місяці тому +1

      no motion sickness tablets, probably should have - howd you go!?

      @@JordanandEmily In the end as I knew I wasn't great took sea sickness meds I got from pharmacy which could make you feel drowsy which was perfect for me as it made me go to bed early and about 5-6hrs in when it was definitely rocking somewhat woke took some more as well as comfort break since I was temporarily awake anyway. Made the trip good overall, mind you the next night we were told there was forecast 6m swell...glad we were on the sailing we were then.

    That room. look at filthy dirty celling corning with mould, and the walls have mould Yuk. That USB port pure filth. I not use to that standard of grubbiness. I been on heaps of ferry while living in Japan for 10 years you can not compare the standard. Disgusting.

      It’s biosecurity to protect their agricultural industries. Some of the crops are free of diseases that are on the Australian mainland.

    I went on the spirit of tassie many, many years ago but they didn’t have all those amenities they have now, so much to do on there. It would be a rare trip if the sea was calm, I think everyone knows it’s going to be a rough ride but worth it when you get there. Miss you both, love you, mum.xx🥰

    Did the trip, return, for the 5th time last week :) It was actually calm during the winter solstice, but we had tiny 4-5m swells crossing back last weekend. We prefer it a little rougher, good for getting to sleep, but it was ok still. Looking forward to seeing the larger Spirit IV later this year.
