Lootboxes. No, I think a nice feature would be reinforce the power behind trade. Trade routes currently are small increases, and don't quite capture the impact of sharing ideas between civilizations. Balance it against increased glory of conquest.

Why do you think it's dutch resistance? From what I can tell, the people behind the door (most probably Gestapo or SS) scream: "Machen Sie sofort diese Tür auf!". I love how they are right after each other. The French resistance one shows that good continues to thrive even in the darkest times. Right after it is the Berlin Wall falling, showing triumph and celebration for good conquering evil. I could have worded this better, but I have no clue how I could put my feelings into words here.
Played Civ a Civ 5 match as mongolia. managed to take Gandhi's capital just a few turns before he would have nuked be. Now the great mongol empire have nukes:D
ENHANCING YOUR ALLIANCES Alliances within Civilization VI already offered a lot, but this expansion adds more nuance. Alliances in the base game often boiled down to a sort of guarantee that the other player would not interfere with your strategy by attacking you, but only rarely did it offer tangible benefits. So for Civilization: Rise and Fall we added more tangible incentives to Alliances. We’re encouraging players to band together for mutual benefit rather than merely non-interference. We’re also giving players more active and flavorful choices to make. Alliances now have a type - Research, Military, Economic, Cultural, or Religious - that determines their benefits. Moreover, as the Alliance continues, the Alliance itself levels up and unlocks more powerful bonuses. This encourages players to think in the long term and to invest in diplomacy. Oh so you're telling me I'll have to call up all my friends who own Civ 6 and make a gigantic and awesome multiplayer campaign?
Nice, I can already see how it'll play out now... 1. Play as England normally until modern era. 2. Set up long-term economic alliances with (most) European civilizations. 3. After around 50 turns, break them all on one turn shouting "take back control!".
Not at all. Their style of these two humans reappearing does a great job of showing the rise and fall theme. And the buildup in this one? Leading to that ceiling with great civilisations from history, telling you that no matter how many times we fall, we can always rise again? That'll get ya in the back of the throat...
@@theregalproletariat What gets me is that it’s humanizing. The father and daughter represent a shared experience across all cultures, all races, all lands. We are all the same people, toiling the same earth, and although we may grow apart on the basis of ideology- in the end we are one people. Once race. One earth. The ending reflected this.
I really love the style of the Civ6 trailers, echoing a bit of the concept of, not just reincarnation, but also the idea of a single individual experiencing multiple ages through different eyes, although from the same soul.
OK, I've figured it out. Sean Bean and his co-star are playing good versions of Ra's and Talia al Ghul. Explains how he could have died of the plague AND in WWII. He's got a Lazarus Pit resurrecting him every now and then.
When I wanted a vacation where I could go meet the world, I didn't have enough money to cross any ocean, so I bought a ticket to Toronto (from Winnipeg), at a hostel I stayed and lo and behold I met the world. I might an Irish couple, drank with a frenchman named Francois, got drunk with German brothers, played poker with a old Japanese couple and a couple of South Koreans, checked out the city scape with a British student of Indian descent, walked into a run down dive playing local punk music with some Scots I got shit faced with, had a Australian save my life, spoke politics with a old Romanian, darts with an Afghan businessman (traveling with an American defense contractor) and to top it all off chilled with a South African who could play the blues. That's all passers by, When I returned home I became more aware of the cultures here in this rusted "Gate to the Prairies" Winnipeg, living here, HERE in WINNIPEG. Working beside Indians, Croatians, Nigerians, Syrians, Sudanese, Filipino ect. there may come a time where my children (if not my grandchildren) may "have the world in their community" or know that "Our community is the world" - Insane gathers of cultures and foods maybe just the door down from where you live!
The map seen on 2:28 is written in Dutch, I think this is confirming The Netherlands as a civilization. As you can see the word polder is written on the right and there is also bits about the river the Amstel in Amsterdam. Really hope the leader is Michiel De Ruyter :D
I hope there are going to be two leaders. Michiel de Ruyter would be more likely a Great Admiral. I am thinking as Leaders someone like William of Orange (of course) or maybe William III, because he modernized the Netherlands by installing railroads and building factories.
New features speculations : * Plagues and epidemics , alongside population health. * U.N and diplomatic victory * Reworking or expanding governments * ideological drift like in civ 5 alongside revolutions, rebels and partisans * New DLC . Pre order now and get Hitler for free!
There's a webpage detailing what we've got. Emergency Situations (you can band together if a player gets too far ahead) Loyalty Golden Ages and Dark Ages Governors to name a few.
We need an animated movie or series about these two, people would love it! Imagine: two immortals going on adventures throughout history, from being slaves to emperors, soldiers to merchants and so. Who's with me?
On the topic of the SJW thing, I never saw these two characters as representations of accurate historical policies of the specified era. I always saw the characters as a more self-insertion for the player/them self-inserting themselves into history to show the theme of civilization (which is playing through all the different eras and periods). I do agree that sometimes companies can go overboard with feminism and SJWness, but I don't think this trailer is related to the issue at all. Besides, in the opening trailer the Dad got the spotlight, now it's time for the daughter to star in the next trailer (this one), a natural pattern.
I am anti-sjw myself, and the thought never even crossed my mind when I first watched this. These trailers are true love letters to humanity. People will always find something to bitch about.
As always, the trailer is in and of itself a beautiful, touching biopic of human history unto itself. It replaces the determined optimism of the original civ6 trailer with something much more nuanced, yet still beautiful. Hopeful, even perhaps. I do wish there was a reaffirmation that even with the hardship and the mishaps, the collapses and plagues, mankind still somehow, unsteadily, but undeniably moves forward, and something indeed does last even amid the ashes of empires. Not just new possibilities, but progress.
@@granville7 it might. Climate change is a massive threat. But we still might pull through. I remember my dad telling me about a friend of his who never made any long term plans because he was convinced the Cold War would go nuclear. It was a well-founded fear- nuclear war probably seemed inevitable at the time (Cuban Missile Crisis etc.), and it may yet happen. But here we all still are, muddling our way through. Any time I struggle with the lack of meaningful progress on addressing climate change, I try and remember that.
@@huwguyver4208 Very well put, Huw. There is still so much we can do! In my recent experiments on what I can do I found that just informing people on what causes climate change is really effective. I was also very surprised about how little people know about this, but this also means you can make steps quickly.
Sondre Bol Although to be fair Civ V before BNW was mostly just boring. The expansions added much needed depth (Civ IV was similar with BTS). VI actually has a lot of depth in the base game, it's just nearly unplayable because balance is way off. AI are trash at war (and victory conditions), entirely unpleasable, and all kind of samey with cheating (like in IV you could expect AI who were doing worse and who were doing better, but my experience with VI has been either all worse or all better, pending diffuculty level - and either way you're safe because deity AI can't out-tactics you).
Me too, but we need a scenario for that. This idea of fictional civs for the Civilization games reminds me of the custom scenarios at Civ II, where one can even play a fantasy-themed scenario without needing a mod.
@許偉漢 calm down. see that 'brown' woman as a placeholder for all of us.^^ or maybe it was a way to cut costs in producing this trailer and reusing this one model for all occasions
I don't get teary-eyed when it comes to game trailers. But my god, this is just absolutely amazing and wonderfully done. There are so many messages engraved in it. Bravo!
Iam from germany and i love how they used our country as example that there can be great things done even after the horrible happened. Brings me tears to my eyes...
We'll have more info to share in the coming weeks. In the meantime, be sure to check out our blog to see what features we have planned! civilization.com/news/entries/announcing-civilization-vi-rise-and-fall
Every time I watch the intro, I have tears in my eyes. This video triggers me in the same way. I am just fascinated by the struggles to which the mankind have encountered and overcome, and I also wonder, what I will do when the next one comes?
Oh spare us lol. You know for a fact that's not the point or argument. If that's the road you want to take OP then fine > drop the civ name > drop the idea of it being anything related to historical > make a basic fantasy/sci fi RTS game. Done. Now you wont look as stupid when you try to pull these kinds of circus acts. Because people arn't buying them. PS - i love women.
Maybe that queen is Sunduk, who ruled ancient kingdom of korea, Silla...I guess. If that, really appreciate to them as a korean. Because She was the person who built Silla's paving stone to firstly unify the korean peninsula. She was the great warrior and the geat ruler at a sametime. It might be fun if we see her race with great leaders of the history! She is so badass woman, so I dont mind about Feminism or something.
What you're saying is not true. Koreans don't consider Queen Seondeok of the Silla Kingdom to be great. Rather, we consider King Gwanggaeto the Great of the Goguryeo Kingdom and King Geunchogo of the Baekje Kingdom to be great among the ancient Three Kingdoms.
And Silla did not properly unify Korea. The Goguryeo Kingdom, which was in the Manchurian territory, became the Balhae Kingdom. So Koreans learn the history of the North-South States Period where Silla and Balhae coexisted.
I mean, I definitely agree that some feminists take things way too far, but if you’re gonna start complaining about a female lead in a 3 minute long trailer for a video game, you should probably just stay off the internet.
To be frank the trailer is nothing wrong. It isn't SJW really and more about a loving tale about a father (Sean Bean?) wishing prosperity to her daughter's future and beyond.
Only when he finally died, I was 100% she was his daughter, and not a young wife. On other topics: Will religion be less a pain in the ass? Will there will be an actual late game? Will they fix all the bugs and crashes? Will AI seize to be retarded af? I guess not. But hey, Amazing trailer guys!
As always with your trailers, I am tearing up very quickly! I love it that your vision of history is not only one of violence and war, but also one of chances, hope, redemption and unlimited possibilities. From the looks of it, the expansion will encapsulate this vision even better than the games you've published before. Can't wait to get my hands ot it! :)
Hers is like the most race neutral face ever created in my opinion. And I meant that in a good way. I vote her as the face of the human civilization when earth reaches its space faring age.
I'm not sure what people's problem is with a woman appearing in the trailer. She is the exact same person from the very first launch trailer and the concept was pretty much identical (Sean Bean's character and her going through the ages until he dies, of course). An equally retarded crowd of people also seems to have a bone to pick with how historically inaccurate this is. So in a video game series where you drop nukes as Gandhi, go to space as Babylon or declare colonial war on Australia as the Aztecs, you needed a trailer with a woman to clue you in for the game's lack of historicity?
But Byzantine guy, the trailer aside, even you have to admit that some of their previous choices for leaders have been questionable! like Theodora in Civ V instead of Justinian, if they wanted a female ruler, why not Irene of Athens or the sister empresses Zoe and Theodora Makedon! why Theodora!? she wasn't even a reigning empress!
Hobo_Ouster Zoe and Theodora Porphyrogennita are not terribly good choices for leaders. Their rule was riddled with strife for one another. It's arguable whether they even wanted to administer the empire at all. Irene of Athens is "meh". Other than ending iconoclasm she was unexceptional. And her zeal in favour of the veneration of icons was a point of contention that perpetuated animosities. Now, don't even get me started on Justinian. He was quite inept on his own and is responsible for the following hardships of the empire. Because of his purely sentimental campaigns of reconquest, the manpower and treasury of the empire were severly hampered, leaving the door open for Sassanian and Avar expansion. He wanted to flee the City during the Nika riots and he had a spectacularly bad response towards the plague that stroke the empire during his reign. Did i also mention his effective *genocide* against the Samaritans? One of the reasons the Samaritan populations are so low today aside from conversions during Muslim rule, was Justinian's ethnic cleansing following the Samaritan revolt. And you know who prevented Justinian from fleeing the City during the Nika riots? Theodora. She was everything good about Justinian's rule: Cunning, intelligent, brave etc. She had immense influence on Justinian and basically guided him when things got grim. Justinian was devastated by her death and basically showed his ineptitude alone after that. Theodora might not be the best and a bajillion miles behind Basil II or Alexios Komnenos, but she was anything but a bad leader.
Don't forget John I and John II, the former put the pieces in place for Basil's reign, and John II expanded upon Alexios's great reign, i know Justinian "the Great" was kinda an idiot, keep in mind that wasn't the argument i was making, I was questioning the decision to use someone who wasn't a head of state or head of government as a nation's leader, also most if not all of the achievements made by the rulership of Justinian/Theodora's "great" reign were military victories by Belisarius. didn't he command the troops that put down the Nika riots? also remember that the brutality in putting down the Nika riots resulted in the death of 30,000 of their own citizens, her pragmatism there is admirable, but massacring your own people isn't proof of good leadership.
John I was an okay emperor, but not necessarily the reason for Basil's success. John I only became an emperor after plotting against Nikephoros Phokas with the latter's wife (Basil's mother). Much like Phokas, John was previously a (very successful) general, but both he and Phokas were diplomatically lacking and quite unpopular with the public. They also strained the state's finances, whereas Basil was responsible for an estimated 300% increase of the imperial treasury. Too bad his brother was a complete moron :^) Not to mention how Basil effectively won his right to the throne at least against 2 wannabe usurpers, so he paved his own way to his success in many ways, especially in terms of his Bulgarian campaign which John and Phokas had done little about. The Roman/Byzantine monarchy has always been somewhat dual in that the empress-regent or the appointed Caesar was ruling as (junior) co-emperor. Both the emperor and co-emperor bore the title "Basileus" and it was later mostly used to prepare young heirs, but often the emperor's wife would effectively occupy that place. If no one was co-emperor, then the emperor was called "Basileus and Autokrator" (emperor and sole-ruler). So Theodora was essentially Justinian's "junior" empress. I believe she was also called "Augusta" which was the Latin title used by emperors before Heraclius changed it to the Greek "Basileus". The leader of the anti-rebel imperial army was actually Narses, but yes, Belisarius was also involved. However, the 30.000 figure includes deaths caused by the rebels themselves as well as casualties of property damages, also started by the rebels. The army slaughtered mostly rebels who may I remind you were attempting to crown their own emperor. Brutal or not, it was a justifiable response in most ways, more so than massacring innocent civilians in Samaria or pillaging Italy in order to "save it" from the "barbarians".
@Hyungjin Kong Yeah, I would have bet any amount that Sejong would have been the first choice. Hopefully they add him later! Seonduk is a badass too though.
Me: I hope the new features make this game better than BNW, now they just need to fix the AI and I might like 6 better than 5. Everybody else: REEEEEEEEEEEE FEMALE LEADERS CIV 6 SUCKS
well to be fair. there is quite alot of female leaders. and i also don't like how Only damn greece is the only nation with multiple leaders. I wanted it like civ 4 with Each nation having multiple choices all different perks and such.
"well to be fair, there is quite alot of female leaders" 11 out of 33 if I count correct on the wiki page, that's not just a few but also not quite a lot. Maybe if you set that in a historic context but it's a game from today.
The moment it shifts to the girl with the hammer at the Berlin Wall, I always get choked up. Maybe because I remember watching the wall come down on the news.
Both this trailer and the trailer for the original game have been among the best game trailers ever made. Incredibly strong narrative and craft. The original trailer made me pre-order Civ 6, and this trailer will make me purchase Rise and Fall. Very well done!
1:00 Korea (Due to the fact that she is literally wearing Seondeok's outfit) 1:10 Mongols (Because archers on horses and fighting against what I assume are on the Steppes?) 1:55 Netherlands (Farfetched, only a presumption.) and the rest we've probably seen are already on the base game.
Politically motivated scripting or not, I saw this trailer as an ad on another video. Didn't skip because of the music, saw it to the end because of the powerful narration. Ideology aside, seriously, what an awesome trailer. I don't play Civ games, but damn, what a trailer.
Lord Haari They're meant to represent the player, not actually historical figures. Plus their story is always the same, daughter watches father untill he dies, daughter takes fathers place.
Obvciously they're not actual historic figures, my guy. It's a fantasy game inspired by history, not dictated by it. Still doesn't detract from the trailer, IMO.
〈3Rush oh my god people are right, they’re adding freaking hitler, notice at how in that scene the map she is looking at says polder. Nazi invasion of the Netherlands¿
It would be fucking amazing, because tyrants and generally evil leaders aren't anything new to the series, but modern villains are a no go because some people can't handle it
alexg4711 because they where? Not saying others where better, but committing an awful crime is still committing an awful crime, doesn't matter if others are borderline the same
I don't know why but I always cry while watching Civ trailers. It reminds me of all the sacrifices humanity has made and how lucky we are to live in the world today.
aw .. i was really excited when i saw the plague doctor. i thought maybe you would add some sort of catastrophe / sickness that just wrecks havoc in the map. i hope you do one day it would add such a cool new dimention to the game... oh well when you do let me know!! id love to help if you need some ideas haha :)
BatarianBob I've played 5 and 6, and I liked 6 more, I just found it more complex and challenging which is fine I just have to take more time to learn the mechanics.
Herrior I don't think I said anything about realism. I said something about neckbeards and their incessant whining. Leif Ashryver I don't hate 6, it has its good qualities, but it's still a work in progress. I think it needs some more progress before I'd rank it on par with 5.
BatarianBob: "I said something about neckbeards and their incessant whining." I'm 99% sure that you are a fat neckbeard yourself. SJWs aren't exactly known for their stunning good looks.
The civs I am hoping to see at some point are Italy (Yes the different city-states and duchies made up the region for most of it's history, but it would be so fun to play a united Italy. If not give us Florence, Venice, and the Papal State. The victory types write themselves.) More Native Americans as well, the Americas are extremely sparse, Mexico would also be a fun inclusion. While we are at it, why is Brazil the only non tribal nation in South America represented? Give us Simon Bolivar for Venezuela. The Ottomans should return and be MUCH stronger than they were in the last game. The Timurids and the Mongols should show up in addition to the Byzantines. Scotland would be fun as an independent nation alongside Ireland. Mali empire and Canada could be neato. Just some more returning civs who are more finely tuned alongside some new, fresher ones.
Oldish comment, but I think Italy could be cool if they give it an ability similar to Austria's in V. Find some way to peacefully merge with city states, maybe even keeping the bonus. But it would need a strong nerf. Like maybe only if your borders are touching, and maybe only on the same continent.

ENHANCING YOUR ALLIANCES
Alliances within Civilization VI already offered a lot, but this expansion adds more nuance.
The only time I ever bothered with an alliance, Gilgamesh put all his units on top of my unimproved resources so I couldn't use them
Alliances=/=giving up self-governance to unelected institutions nobody wants
Would you be interested in a trade agreement with england?
sign me up add me!
That woman ... she's been at like every important event in history... is she the illuminati?
She's supposed to represent the Player.
Illuminati civ confirmed
jewminati :)
Plot Twist - that woman is Clara Oswald
Plot twist - She is actually a different person in each of those... So I guess someone started with future technology at day 1...

Denim on denim? Well, it WAS the 80s.
Well, i suppose that was the berlin wall falling, so yes, it was the 80's
Except when you play and it happens in 1450.
Teddy Julock Science rush, nukes at 1700
"Did my Winged Hussars just get vaporized??
the ass end of the 80's tho. November 89. Two more months and she'd be rockin 90's clothes.
Am I the only one always crying to Civ trailers? They are sooo good!
For real they're always so emotional to me for some reason I can't describe
>berlin wall
>you can't even divide cities in half in civ
Karsten dont give away the next expan- (*dies*)
I really love the style of the Civ6 trailers, echoing a bit of the concept of, not just reincarnation, but also the idea of a single individual experiencing multiple ages through different eyes, although from the same soul.
OK, I've figured it out. Sean Bean and his co-star are playing good versions of Ra's and Talia al Ghul. Explains how he could have died of the plague AND in WWII. He's got a Lazarus Pit resurrecting him every now and then.
I like this one
Or they are the children of Vandal Savage
The trailer ends with a diplomatic victory?
Canadian civ confirmed!
Stephen Jackman sorry my friend, Canada won't win a diplomatic victory. It's already dead
diplomatic failure* cultural death* etc etc
That's all passers by,
When I returned home I became more aware of the cultures here in this rusted "Gate to the Prairies" Winnipeg, living here, HERE in WINNIPEG.
It's clearly France, look at the white flags.
I mean Poundmaker was from “Canada” so... I guess kinda?
Sean Bean dies once again.
Honestly, I'm not surprised anymore
lest give him the respect he deserves. he was winning all the wars so they kill him with the plague.
Sean Meme dies once again
The map seen on 2:28 is written in Dutch, I think this is confirming The Netherlands as a civilization. As you can see the word polder is written on the right and there is also bits about the river the Amstel in Amsterdam. Really hope the leader is Michiel De Ruyter :D
You’re going to be a city state forever.
D: Pls no, ghandi nuke clive
+Clive Please no!
I hope there are going to be two leaders. Michiel de Ruyter would be more likely a Great Admiral.
I am thinking as Leaders someone like William of Orange (of course)
or maybe William III, because he modernized the Netherlands by installing railroads and building factories.
But still I would like michiel as a leader, he would have a cool screen.
New features speculations :
* Plagues and epidemics , alongside population health.
* U.N and diplomatic victory
* Reworking or expanding governments
* ideological drift like in civ 5 alongside revolutions, rebels and partisans
* New DLC . Pre order now and get Hitler for free!
There's a webpage detailing what we've got.
Emergency Situations (you can band together if a player gets too far ahead)
Loyalty
Golden Ages and Dark Ages
Governors
to name a few.
Broken wizzard im from poland and got one hitler free already.. i had some complaints..
VolumeHunter - that's...actually pretty true to life. But either way, you evidently weren't putting out enough culture to compete with your rivals.
Broken wizzard Hitler is male, devs cant have that..
Is it going to fix the AI even a little? I wanted to buy the game but from what I hear the AI is so bad it just kills the game.
The cinematic was very clean and well made! Gave me the chills. Good to see them expand on this game, I am sure it can become the best in the series!
Haha, good joke.
Civ V was a pretty bad game on launch.
Imperial Inquisition Ordo Hereticus your a good joke. I suppose your fangoggles make you forget how shit Civ 5 was at launch?
Thanks! We hope this expansion will be our best one yet!
ive damke
We need an animated movie or series about these two, people would love it! Imagine: two immortals going on adventures throughout history, from being slaves to emperors, soldiers to merchants and so. Who's with me?
I would do so!
It would make a better vampire series than twilight, ill give you that.
Just mod these two into Total War games.haha
watch Cloud Atlas
My dad is dead but I'd watch it.
Needs more nukes
Gandhi the Terrible oh no...
Needs more likes.
Jesus Christ Gandhi, calm down
+brokennoah I have just received a report that large numbers of my troops have crossed your borders
+Ryan Vo Yes, it is nuke time.
But MAH OUTRAGE!
Agreed. It makes total narrative sense.
Alt-right dipshits whining about "SJW things" will never get old.
I am anti-sjw myself, and the thought never even crossed my mind when I first watched this. These trailers are true love letters to humanity. People will always find something to bitch about.
What's the meaning of SJW
Annoying
As always, the trailer is in and of itself a beautiful, touching biopic of human history unto itself. It replaces the determined optimism of the original civ6 trailer with something much more nuanced, yet still beautiful. Hopeful, even perhaps.
I do wish there was a reaffirmation that even with the hardship and the mishaps, the collapses and plagues, mankind still somehow, unsteadily, but undeniably moves forward, and something indeed does last even amid the ashes of empires. Not just new possibilities, but progress.
but this climate change thing might do us all in
@@granville7 it might.
Will this expansion improve the AI?
Adam Torriani +
yes
It's been a year since I picked up Civ VI - is the AI still shit? Have they really not fixed that yet?
JacksonEbert did you expect them to fix it? It took Civ 5 two expansions to make it decent.
Sondre Bol
Although to be fair Civ V before BNW was mostly just boring.
DAUGHTER?! I thought they were husband and wife! Well, I'll never watch the opening the same way again that's for sure.
Anthony Clay you mean the opening scene where he says “daughter...”
Jordan H He is talking about the other intro obviously.
She just looked alot like her mother... So, now you can view it in the same way again :')
Could be Pakistan or Alabama, where daughter and wife are synonymous.
Well, I mean . . . Sean Bean got into Civ after Game of Thrones. Maybe he picked up a bad habit from that series?
Those two characters survived a couple hundred years of human history and didn’t age a bit, vampire civ confirmed?
Then they need some shade from the sun, because it keep shining for years within a few turns before evening and night fall in the next age.
I'd buy a mod with monster civilizations like frankenstein, mummies, zombies, vampires, republicans, etc.
Me too, but we need a scenario for that.
This idea of fictional civs for the Civilization games reminds me of the custom scenarios at Civ II, where one can even play a fantasy-themed scenario without needing a mod.
Cody they probably were related to one of the leaders
I assume it's not the same person but family line
Amazing announcement trailer, shed a tear or two mates.
CiV 6 trailers are so hopeful I can't help but
you do know they are talking about the trailer itself right?
btw do you watch rick and morty? you sound so smart
Whenever I get hyped for a trailer, I just remember Total War: Rome II.
Well then, you're fukin emotionally weak.
It's okay to express your feeling. Mr. Rogers taught us that, and he's apparently the only friendly kids tv show host who didn't rape little boys.
Such an amazing and nice trailer!
It was so emotional that I had tears in my eyes when the wall of Berlin part came... so beautiful.
I WAS NOT EXPECTING THIS, HOLY SHIT
second expansion will come in 2019
I don’t know how these trailers always have such a dramatic impact on me
FINALLY, dammit doesnt tell me anything aside from cool cinimatic xD
look up this page it had a good deal of info on the new expansion: civilization.com/news/entries#announcing-civilization-vi-rise-and-fall
Read the video description.
well i see mongols troop so that a good thing right ?
grizzledcroc read ze description
We'll have more info to share in the coming weeks. In the meantime, be sure to check out our blog to see what features we have planned! civilization.com/news/entries/announcing-civilization-vi-rise-and-fall
This girl is 21 centuries old and still looking fine!! xD
More like 51.
Dermatologists hate her! 🤣🤣
2:24 God damn, the pained expression in her face is so well executed. You can see the pain and grief in her face without anyone saying a word.
Every time I watch the intro, I have tears in my eyes. This video triggers me in the same way. I am just fascinated by the struggles to which the mankind have encountered and overcome, and I also wonder, what I will do when the next one comes?
Adam Xie The next one? WW3/Global warming...
Pretty sure our struggle is now the struggle to unify the world, we've beaten back tyranny, torn down the wall; now its time to start uniting.
We will prevail. Or die trying.
Took the words right outta my heart ♥️
I always LOVE to watch these cinematic especially when they give speeches like these throughout the time periods. Very well done!
So historical inaccuracies are a problem with female captains but it's historical fantasy and fun when Ghandi is fighting Napoleon with nukes.
Yes.
Myess.. The usage of non-arguments to "prove" a point. ;)
That's just bad AI, that became a meme
Oh spare us lol. You know for a fact that's not the point or argument. If that's the road you want to take OP then fine
> drop the civ name
> drop the idea of it being anything related to historical
> make a basic fantasy/sci fi RTS game.
Done. Now you wont look as stupid when you try to pull these kinds of circus acts. Because people arn't buying them.
PS - i love women.
crazybongo5 If you take all that away then there is no point in arguing. I don't know what you're trying to get at.
Everytime I watch this trailer, I've always ask to myself: How far our civilization will last.
This trailer has better story than 80% of the new movies!
give it a rest Jesus Christ.
this will always be my favorite civ trailer
Arya and Ned travelling through time kicking the world's ass.
How many lights do you see?
I suspect you are a Chinese or Japanese person pretending to be Korean.
This comment section makes me sick. People getting angry because of a woman that was shown in the video... Just wow.
I fail to see why a female lead upset so many.
They think "SJW"s are everywhere... No idea why though.
@@MartinRenner Because they are triggered by everything and seeing a single woman sends them into a spastic fit.
Because feminist agenda is everywhere and it's sad to see others implement it in order to gain favor with those who value it.
The mongols are comming
I hope that they'll also add the Huns
Loup Bleu do you want a repeat of the civ 5 hun death row? Are you mad!!???
Immortal leaders that rule a civilization for millennia - ok.
Some of these are women - Wtf, so unrealistic!
Stop killing off Sean Bean FFS!
I think he dies in the Gathering Storm video too
I want that ending circle as a wallpaper.
I want it as a ceiling.
If nothing else, the civilization series has always managed to be inspiring, more people need to play these games.
Only when he finally died, I was 100% she was his daughter, and not a young wife. On other topics:
Will religion be less a pain in the ass? Will there will be an actual late game? Will they fix all the bugs and crashes? Will AI seize to be retarded af? I guess not. But hey, Amazing trailer guys!
cease*
0:43 nice reference to Gladiator by Ridley Scott.
They didn't, you goddamn moron. You can just look up the fucking launch trailer for the base game, it has zero historical characters in it.
Dipshit.
Too bad his brother was a complete moron :^)
Not to mention how Basil effectively won his right to the throne at least against 2 wannabe usurpers, so he paved his own way to his success in many ways, especially in terms of his Bulgarian campaign which John and Phokas had done little about.
Came back after all these years just to watch the opening theme for Rise and Fall...
Lovely
I really hope this means we will have a World Congress..?
It better. There's a severe lack of diplomacy in Civ VI.
Guys, a little more specific, please?
Just Google for it, you can read about EVERYTHING the New Expansion will offer.
More Information will come in the Future.
More details on this expansion are up on our blog. civilization.com/news/entries/announcing-civilization-vi-rise-and-fall
Jesus, Thank you
The demolition of the Berlin Wall part always gets me.
Is that Korean peninsula's Shila Kingdom's crown I'm seeing?
Exactly !
Korean Civ confirmed!
Lol, again korea's pride.
NO PRIDE NOW. FUCKING SEONDUK? FUCK SHIT. I want KING SEJONG.
Good one
Female in this trailer suck ;)
"well to be fair, there is quite alot of female leaders"
11 out of 33 if I count correct on the wiki page, that's not just a few but also not quite a lot. Maybe if you set that in a historic context but it's a game from today.
@ItsTheEndOfTheWorldAsWeKnowIt Z lol ok history states otherwise but ok.
The moment it shifts to the girl with the hammer at the Berlin Wall, I always get choked up. Maybe because I remember watching the wall come down on the news.
You all will bow your knees before the Huey Tlatoani of the mighty Aztec Republic!
Blood For Huitzilopochtli !!
how the fuck do you bow your knees?
Tlazocamati :)
Both this trailer and the trailer for the original game have been among the best game trailers ever made. Incredibly strong narrative and craft. The original trailer made me pre-order Civ 6, and this trailer will make me purchase Rise and Fall. Very well done!
1:00 Korea (Due to the fact that she is literally wearing Seondeok's outfit)
1:10 Mongols (Because archers on horses and fighting against what I assume are on the Steppes?)
1:55 Netherlands (Farfetched, only a presumption.)
and the rest we've probably seen are already on the base game.
Still doesn't detract from the trailer, IMO.
u should watch Civ V Brave New World trailer, better than this
Indeed, this feels a bit too much of a hierachy glorification. BNW trailer is about humanity, this here is about the protagonist.
"MACHEN SIE DIE TÜR AUF!"
〈3Rush oh my god people are right, they’re adding freaking hitler, notice at how in that scene the map she is looking at says polder. Nazi invasion of the Netherlands¿
Rudy Steiner I honestly don't think they would ever add Hitler to the game.
It would be fucking amazing, because tyrants and generally evil leaders aren't anything new to the series, but modern villains are a no go because some people can't handle it
〈3Rush and of course they have to show the nazis as badies again. Doesnt matter that all nations have their secret police and work camps
alexg4711 because they where? Not saying others where better, but committing an awful crime is still committing an awful crime, doesn't matter if others are borderline the same
I don't know why but I always cry while watching Civ trailers. It reminds me of all the sacrifices humanity has made and how lucky we are to live in the world today.
aw .. i was really excited when i saw the plague doctor. i thought maybe you would add some sort of catastrophe / sickness that just wrecks havoc in the map. i hope you do one day it would add such a cool new dimention to the game... oh well when you do let me know!! id love to help if you need some ideas haha :)
Well that was kinda good but I have no idea what the features are...
These trailers are always so jaw-droppingly beautiful. The Berlin wall part really got me!
Well! I’ve never been more hyped by a trailer that told me absolutely nothing! Well done!
KOREA!!! Maybe that would be Silla
Yeah, Mongols and Korea. China has been so lonely on the earth map:)
I love how you guys continued the character from the original intro, so good. feels man the feels..
so is sean beans daughter inmortal then?
This surprises you?
Nice, one or two expansions like this, and we well finally get the full game.
I just shouted at the screen "GODDAMIT SEAN! JUST STAY ALIVE FOR MORE THAN TWO MINUTES!"
2:56 is that some sort of United Nation Organization or what?
No is simply the game after ghandi has been abolished
The transitions are flawless!
0:46 That Roman helmet is unhistorical, but it looks pretty badass.
Berlin Wall wonder please! Keep Freedom out of my Order play through!
Wasn't terribly impressed with VI, but all the virgin neckbeards and their crying about "SJW's" almost makes me want to buy it just out of spite.
So you're going to spend your money on something you don't like if only I complain about SJWs?
SJWs are scum. Don't buy this game!
BatarianBob: "I said something about neckbeards and their incessant whining."
I'm 99% sure that you are a fat neckbeard yourself. SJWs aren't exactly known for their stunning good looks.
Funny I saw a lot of people say the same about Wolfenstein, yet the game sold like shit. You won't actually buy it.
0:46
Why does his shutting of his helmet just sound so good?
충성충성! 문명6을 부흥시켜줄 첫번째 대형 확팩이군요! 정말 기대합니다!
I can't wait for this!! (^ ^)7
Yes, YES, VENEZUELA
Oldish comment, but I think Italy could be cool if they give it an ability similar to Austria's in V. Find some way to peacefully merge with city states, maybe even keeping the bonus. But it would need a strong nerf. Like maybe only if your borders are touching, and maybe only on the same continent.
Watching Civilization trailers always restores my faith in humanity.
The woman in this trailer did so many amazing things.. but she never did find a good AI programmer in the end..
40% i don't think so ma dude
huh? zzodr wasnt even talking about any women related issue.
@Rick Stuifzand shut up you braindead dude, you're irrelevant
@Metal 1974 well....
yo the Berlin wall should be a wonder
0:24 Possible Egypt, Greece or Babylon
0:36 Rome
0:56 Korea
1:09 Mongolia
1:33 Black Plague (Possible Black Plague Scenario Civs) GS
