hi how about adding a Ultrasonic Mist Maker to it that might look cool.
You might want to put a little sponge on the intake so the sand won't ruin your impeller. So cute, I love the Maidenhair fern.

This has just given me the idea of making a couple of these and giving them as Christmas presents!

LOVE it! I made a table top one this summer for a gift( no livestock), a waterfall in a 8 in dish that is flush in the soil of a 14 inch glaze shallow pot, that I planted around it with a bonsai tree, fern and a couple of other small plants then under planted with moss. (I so wanted to keep it for myself.) lol
Beautiful work, I can't wait to make one. Now I have a use for a small filter/pump I bought but didn't need before. Thank you! Peace and Blessings from Texas USA ♡♡♡

next time think of adding one of those mini prinkler heds so it spread the water a biter more creating a wider water fall

I will have to try this build. I copied one of your build ideas and made a bowl aquarium. It has 2 guppies and some snails. So far, no water quality issues at all. I did add an airstone. I like the sound of bubbles.
Looks good...the only "problem" is you'll never be able to do any pump maintenance without tearing it all down...

I would recommend you add a filter sponge on the intake filter. I happened to me and the impeller just crank up with some sand.

Oooooh! 😱😱😱😍 this is so lovely! I miss the river (Teno in the Finnish and Norwegian border) I grew by, and this is nothing compared to it, but with a little effort I could have the sound of running water at home.
Edit: and the moss. I love moss. Maybe a little bonsai tree to go with too. So many ideas. You sir are inspirational!

Curious for an update on this. Is the moss still going strong? For the moss where the water is directly flowing, is it too saturated all the time? For the moss that's not getting any flow, is the lava rock adequately bringing moisture upwards to it?

Are the ferns in the direct flow or just getting moisture through the moss? Ever have any problem with root rot?
