I need to touch on this. Please do not give your old, stained, ripped and ragged clothes to goodwill or and other kind of charity. Charity people want good clothes as much as you do. My mother used to work at a goodwill and has told me many stories of how people bring in gross, old clothes and think they're doing good because they're giving a piece of fabric to charity. NO. If you give clothes to charity, please make sure that they are presentable. Ask yourself if you were the one receiving that item in charity, would YOU want to wear it? LESS FORTUNATE PEOPLE DON'T WANT THEIR CLOTHES TO SCREAM LESS FORTUNATE.
bultaoreune.
Absolutely agree! Having helped run a donation distribution recently, I can't believe some of what I saw.
But on that note, some Goodwill locations and some other thrift stores work with textile recycling, so giving that well-worn stuff to them gives those items a chance at a 2nd life, and less ends up in landfills. Just check first that where you donate has that program.
That's very true. I love thrift stores, so I try to avoid donating heavily damaged goods.
On a similar note, I don't like throwing away clothes that are heavily worn, but can be re-worked by DIY friendly people. Do you know any places that recycle fabrics/clothes/textiles despite damage?
I agree! I love using the fabrics from damaged clothes, you can make some cute stuff!
The place I volunteer with has people like me come in and throw those away. We rip them up and make actual rags.
The motto is: Donate with dignity for dignity.
The other day I found a pair of pants with a GIGANTIC PERIOD STAIN in the crotch. It had to have been the size of my hand. Who thinks that’s appropriate to donate to charity?
I sold a VS sweatshirt with a stain on it and the buyer gave me 5 stars. I pointed out the stain in the picture, but I guess people go crazy for VS so they don't care
Chloe Rinell sweet!! Honestly I am not even surprised bc those VS sweatshirts are hella soft 😍
But you were honest from upfront, that counts for a lot
I got 2 stars over the length when it was specifically measured and pictures were taken.
Chloe Rinell same here. As long as I disclose I get 5 stars.
Don't give your "gross, stained clothes" to charity. They don't want it either.
Thank you so much, Holly! This is just the information I needed. After selling on eBay for many years, I took time away for a career and family. Now that the nest is empty and I am ready to clean out the closets, there are so many options out there making it difficult to decide which way to proceed with this task. I wasn't sure I could do Poshmark, but your video explains the process very well and I feel encouraged to give it a try. What a great idea, to work together as a community to sell your stuff!
You are just the cutest thing with such a sweet voice. You've touched on so many things. Thank you so much. 🤗
I just organized my closet and i am considering selling on poshmark. I will watch your video and take notes tomorrow when i have more time . You are so sweet, I look forward to your hearing your tips.
Thank You- Right on with all your tips! Thanks for sharing! Sent your video to a few friends who did not know what Posh was yet!
I wish I knew to have my prices higher. I had Nike air max shoes that were worth 120 dollars and I sold them for 15 dollars. And someone bought them so now I sent them and I wish I at least made them 30 dollars.
This video is so informative and concise, and you are relaxing and delightful to watch. Thank you!!!!! I just decided to start selling on Poshmark and will use all of the great tips you shared here! :)
Awww you are so sweet. Thank you so much for watching and I wish you the best of luck!
I'm on poshmark for about 3 weeks and I've sold ONE item, however I have tons of likes and shares 🤔. When someone likes a listing I dint even know where to chat with them to say thanks. I'm thinking of ending poshmark and only doing ebay were it's simpler, no one has to follow you, or give you likes or shares. See it, like it buy it it.
Nikki C Hi! I'm on Poshmark too and if I want to say thank you to a fellow posher I go to their profile and click on their listing that says "Meet Your Posher" and scroll down to the "comment" section :)
On Mercari I get view but no likes and offers. All items are reasonably priced though.
Exactly. I feel like I have spent way too much time on this app and nothing.
On which app @myluxuary1sthair? The Posh or Mercari. If you are referring to Posh I feel the same. A lot of following and likes but no offers. Super frustrating. And I have good quality merchandise.
Liz Marchand yes posh. I just feel like it’s an app that wants people to spend time on there to make it look popular.
Eek! This shouldn't be your only video. You were VERY helpful with your tips. Thank you so much. 127,000 views is nothing to shrug off. You've got something here! More videos!
Omg this video is so amazing and your literally so prettt
Thank you for sharing and so glad your speech it not on the roller coaster like so many others on UA-cam. Pleasant and real.
Definitely agree with sharing! It helps increase my sales for sure! Great tips.
Holly you are the cutest! Your makeup is perfect too. I'm loving the videos :) xox a potato
Emma Killion EMMA 💛💛💛 Thank you my dear!!
I definitely wouldn't sell flawed clothes even with disclosure. My wife had a return with full written disclosure and directed to look at photos before purchasing. Poshmark said she needed to disclose and show pics of the flaw. Of course they told her to do what she had already done. They sided with the buyer anyway. I just wouldn't do it.
Another tip that I always appreciate when shopping: take clear pics that show TEXTURE of clothing and measure top of pants/jeans laying flat with a measuring tape. This way people can measure their own pants at home that fit best and have a better idea of how the item will fit them. So many manufacturers use "vanity sizing" so it's difficult to know how something will fit based off a number unless you are very familiar with that particular brand
I HAVE A QUESTION.
WHY SO MANY PEOPLE STARTED FOLLOWING ME? like i just got the app and so many people keep following and i get notifications none stop- u guys know why?
Eli 22nov It's because PoshMark automatically gives you followers non stop.
When someone downloads Poshmark and then signs in through Facebook, it automatically connects those people to your account if you are FB friends and if you both have Poshmark
Thank you so much for your tips! I’m just starting on Poshmark let’s see how it goes!
Good quality video! What kind of camera are you using? And thank you for the tips 💕
Every time I take the picture off the app; the picture never uploads the whole pic; it's always having something cut off at the top and bottom, so that tip does not work for me unfortunately...
MyLuxury1st Hair, Pigments, and Apparel Take the photos in square mode on your camera or edit the picture to be square. Poshmark requires square pictures otherwise it will crop it in ways like you are talking about.
I wanted to learn to sell on posh mark so this was my first video . Very nice thank
How does the process work of someone buying your stuff and you sending it.
it was really nice - I'm new to Poshmark and appreciate your help.
Aww you're so sweet. You remind me of a young Alicia Silverstone. ☺️
Thank you for the tips. I'm a Postmark newbie and I know this information will be very helpful.
I don't know how to add a Paypal button to receive payments and I'm not sure if it appears on my page in general. Could you please help me with that? How do I set it up so it will appear? Where do I link my Paypal account?
Great video!!! Very informational, keep up the good work :]
Hey ya'll if there is a stain, tear or similar reason you don't want it, someone else likely won't want it. How about throw it away? I know we are trying to be green but if it's over, it's over...get rid of it and stop circulating damaged clothing through the system. That keeps it's great for the great clothes going through . . eh?
I buy damaged clothes. Sometimes I am ok with it. Sometimes I buy them in order to make something new. Don't throw it away. It can be recycled if not dyed fixed or patched. Better than new.
Lots of consignment stores recycle them. Fabric can be recycled. Often they get money for it too
Thanks for sharing the information about poshmark, you should make more videos about this cause new poshmark seller and buyers would like to know. Thanks for sharing these tips.
forrealgirl 42 I'd love to make more videos dedicated to selling on poshmark in the future! What more would you like to know? :)
I appreciate all your tips, blessings💕
So what if the color isn't necessarily faded but does look like you've washed it . You know what I mean? Like it's not that crisp color anymore? But in good condition
I think you could definitely still sell it! Especially if it's a well-known brand.
ALSO, read whats not allowed to be sold on PoshMark. I had to comment on someones photo frame bundle and she has more items.
Hi do you recommend buying a background like a faux fur rug to take pictures of clothing or a mannequin?
Hi! I've been selling on Posh for more than six months and have sold close to 100 items, and I've never bought or used a rug or mannequin. I don't think you need one to make sales, and as long as you have a nice background to take photos on (marble counter, white table or dresser or desk, etc.) you don't need to spend all that money. I also think that going out to the craft store or staples and buying a nice poster (either with a cute print or just a plain white one) to use as a background could work wonders. Hope this helps!!
Honestly you don't have to but anything could be fine
I do recommend buying a mannequin though
If u do buy a rug u can get one on posh
Did I miss you saying what your posh store was? Thx for explaining.
Your video was great......learned a lot......... appreciate you sharing....... wishing you much success.
How do you share on PM?
Omg I could listen to you talk all day your voice is so soft lol sounds weird but ijs
thank you so much, Holly!
I'm new to Poshmark and I got a message asking the person to email them about a dress I had. They told me they'd send me a check and that a shipping agent would come for the dress at my location. Should I be worried?
Alexis Ahumada Don't do it!! It's a scam!! This has been happening a lot recently with poshmark so please be careful!
Thank you for this video! 😍😍 I want to start using poshmark 🙈
Vanessa Esparza you're welcs!! Good luck girl! 😄
Awesome video! What camera did you use?
Hey Holly! So when you list your price for an item, do you first look for the retail price and then list the price you want for it?
Hannah Kanewske. Hey Hannah! Yes, I would definitely do that! That way it's shows the buyer the percentage that they're saving ☺
I been hear that Poshmark charge u for government in a certain amount of money u make. Is that true??
Great Advice, Thank you!
Love it!
Great video. I'm trying to learn as much as I can just in case I decide to start selling. You are a cutie.... and very relaxed. thanks Holly
I am new to Poshmark and just put three things up today someone asked me to send them an email asking me if the dress was still for sale they emailed me to take the dress down they would arrange for their carrier to send me a certified check is this legal or is this something I should be looking out for
joannamccloud that is definitely a scam. Just the other day I had someone send me that exact same question and another posher was kind enough to notice and inform me that those kind of messages are totally scam. Don't do it!!
Holly Easters thank you so very much.
Total scam 100%. Block them, report them etc.
Thank you for the tips !!!!
Hi
I'm new to Poshmark how do I get involved in a party?
Thank you! Great job :)
This is awesome! Thank you
Great video and advice!
You are flipping adorable! I really need that lip color. Please tell me what it is?
Thanks for sharing your tips & tricks! Awesome video! Love how you said nobody is going to buy your gross clothe. 😂 lol
Great tips, very helpful. I'm just starting to sell.
What is your Poshmark name
Please read up on all of the scammers from the purchasers. I just got scammed. Please google and beware of them. After 18 months I m done! Good luck
lady miss so there's nothing to do about scammers on poshmark? I guess I just won't sell anything then
Nice video. So you say to "share your listing more" For example I have x amount of followers. Wouldn't that be annoying if I'll share with them the same stuff I've shared with them a week ago or several days ago? Ty
zolu shka I don't think that it would be annoying for your followers at all! I know I follow a lot of people who share their listings every day! Doesn't bother me a bit :) also sometimes if you go and share a listing from someone else's page, often times they will go on you page and share some of yours!
Good information! Thanks.
Hi Holly, Great video, thanks for the helpful tips! Your video also looks great, what kind of camera did you use?!

Thank you for sharing
She is so cute 😊😊
Great tips
Thanks for this
Is it free to list ur items ?
Malexah Mor Yes... Poshmark takes a 20% fee
$5-$6 off? People offer 50%, 75% off!
It says I have like $10.00. But I don't know how to get that money
Kaylee Dory if you go to your profile and look in the top right corner, there's a little green button with a dollar sign on it. If you click that, it takes you to your redeemable balance. You just need to make sure you already put in all your checking account info. If that's all set up, then you should be able to redeem the money you made!
Is it true that you don't get the money until after they receive the item? What if somebody lies about receiving the item?
If USPS says its delivered your good
Legally Bronze The problem is, I have ordered things in the past off of Poshmark, where USPS said it was delivered but it actually wasn’t! I was hassled for days to accept an order I never received, until Poshmark finally gave me my $ back. I do think Poshmark still paid the seller anyways, since they mailed out the item, and it was lost. I have also had instances where the item I purchased was sent to someone else, and I never got it. I’ve even received someone else’s items, and had to return them to Poshmark. Poshmark can be great & I still buy off of there, but it’s not without it’s flaws. I use to sell on it too, but I felt it was no longer worth the bother, when I wasn’t making that much anyways.
I'm just curious if it was the wrong address printed or if it was just delivered to the wrong address? The Post Office here is horrible at delivering mail. We get neighbor items all the time. It's their name & address. One year we never received our property tax bill. There was one month we didn't receive any of our monthly bills. I forgot about one of them & it didn't get paid & then there was a charge for it not being paid on time. Luckily when I called the company they understood & took the extra charge off.
How do you drop shipping...
just google drop shipping,im learning also
@kayla blackburn

Gross Clothes should be donated to Pockmarked.
my closet: ynnaweenah
Thank you my closet @kizgunn
No one including goodwill wants stained clothing. Don't promote this disgusting behaviour.
My Poshmark is @divacutieoregon
I appreciate the message of this video, and the content as a whole... but girl... you're so close to the camera I feel like you're invading my personal space lol
Thank you, Holly!!!! Also, my Poshmark is @kaylaraaae
That’s called “mark-up” when you’re pricing something higher than what you expect to sell it for, or have a “sale” for. Hint: Department stores do that to you all the time.
You are beautiful 🥰🌹
Throw that raggedy, stained and gross in the trash. Don't donate or give that item to anyone. If you don't want it , what makes you think someone else wants it.
Giving anything to charity...people that do not have anything are grateful for everything.. so givevwhatever you want to give
Follow me on Poshmark @itsfashionistaj :)
