oops...@28:32 you discarded your Electric arrow in the Encounter pile. No worries. You are by far my favorite channel for MC playthroughs (Mage Knight as well). Keep up the great work!
Call me crazy but I watch your videos at the same time I play the game :D I tried watching other people playing the game but your style of explaining, set-up and overall style is just the best. Can't wait for more cards to be released and obviously, watch you play them!
@26:40 it should have been a tough status card AND heal 1 damage from him. Wouldn't have made any difference in your game but in mine he was left with 1hp at the end of a round leading to an extra delay token. Had a very poor 10 in the end, mainly due to a poor draw order so I didn't manage play a single vibranium arrow or venom blast.
@forbode You are correct! Thanks. Fortunately, like you said it, I could have done at least 3 more damage at the end to make up for the difference. When playing with Hawkeye, I do try to keep his deck at 40 (if possible) to help with the quiver searches ... but bad card draws still can happen. Thanks for watching!
@Ragnot Greymane That same thought crossed my mind too. I'm really pleased with this set. We are long over due on villains, so five new one is great ... and I really enjoy both Hawkeye and Spider-Woman. :)
Great Game! Working on my first play through I got nervous and used my Laser Cannon verses Taskmaster when I had a guard minion and I hit shadows of the past. So hopefully I won’t need it against Zola or Red Skull.
Using your vids to check if I got everything right from the rules : ) .. Just got Rise of the Red Skull a few days ago. We were Gamora and Spider-Woman and got the Absorbing Man down in 5 rounds. Which made me wonder whether I played him right. ((guess we got lucky .. or I forgot a Delay Counter inbetween)). In comparison, Crossbones has been a very tough game before (with Spider-Woman, Captain Marvel and Gamora).
@Tamyndris Thanks for watching! Some games just go better than others depending on the encounter cards and how quick you get the heroes set-up. Good luck with the rest of your campaign! :)
@Air Dragon Instead of one a week for Marvel Champions, for this expansion, I'm too excited ... I'll get 3 in this week and the final 2 next week, and then back to my normal schedule. So Taskmaster on Friday! Hope you enjoy! :)
My video game mentality also makes me keep those “one time use” cards. Finished the campaign twice, never using the tech upgrades because I always think I’m gonna need it later.
What I meant was once per scenario. And besides, Dale was almost at the end of the encounter. If he had used it then, it would have been used just one time
@Angel Paredes Ideally you wouldn't cycle through your deck several times or use the card early in the game, so most will only get one use out of it ... but there's a chance of more, although, I wouldn't count on it. :)
Really enjoying this expansion, playing each stage of the campaign then checking I've not made any fundamental mistakes. Just playing solo with Spider Woman and didn't realise I could peep at the Encounter Deck in alter Ego .. for some reason I just assumed it was her deck and so thought it was a bit rubbish and too situational. Both Crossbones and Absorbing Man were great fun.. if the rest are as good then fun times ahead. IMO the Tech upgrade should be a fair bit weaker and reusable .. give me a really good a one time use item and it just doesn't get used...
@RocketMagnetUK I enjoyed the expansion, and for the tech upgrade, I always tried to save it for the final battle. It did come in handy for the card that has you lose an upgrade/support. Hope you enjoy the rest, and thanks for stopping by! :)
@@DaletheCasualGamer So you only lose it from your "inventory" if you actually use it's effect ? It does say remove it from the campaign logs when you use it.. I;d just considered if you lost it via a remove support or upgrade card you lost it totally so my priority was to get support/upgrade cards and keep something in play to buffer it from losing the card this way..... it did change how i played absorbing man as right away i played a non ideal support card to protect it... the risk was fun actually now i think about it :)
Leadership definitely the most powerful aspect in multiplayer. Not sure about solo since I only play 2 handed but I bet it’s really good true solo too.
@Jason Sesta I'm really liking a deck with plenty of heroes to jump in and help with attacking and thwarting and then being around to take a hit when needed. Really helps keep you in hero mode longer. :)
@Daniel Flare "Actions" can be requested from the active player so other heroes can play during another persons turn. The card being used must have the "Action" text. Very helpful in multiplayer games! :)
@David Ko. But when his side scheme comes out that gives him all the traits, that other treachery card is TERRIBLE! I think FFG did a great job with all the villains. I only have Red Skull left to play. :)
Absorbing Man is beatable but man, the RNG on his encounter deck can be downright hateful. Lol. I had one bad turn where every possible side-scheme was out and I just laughed at how overwhelming it was. I beat him twice today with Hawkeye(Leadership) and Hulk(Aggression) on standard difficulty. It was like 2 wins to 4 losses. I continue to enjoy how differently each villain plays.
Traits will be on the Environment card (and that card will change along with traits throughout the game), and other cards will trigger differently depending on the trait. Hope that helps, and happy gaming!
Wait, I’m a bit confused… couldn’t you have just beaten him with the upgrade instead of drawing out the deck and getting the encounter card? It said deal 5 to villain, wasn’t that all he had left in his health? Or were you playing the full campaign I’m assuming then..?
@Thomas Whaley Thanks! Takes me a while to get all the finer points, but that is a great ability!! Hawkeye is going to turn out better than I originally thought! :)
Dale the Casual Gamer Hawkeye is a different hero to play. I’m really liking him. I had to switch him to aggression. He feels better to me in it. Just with Spider-Woman I have to play Contaminant Immunity so I can be ready for the next turn also it heals me.
@Matias Fuentealba Thanks! I was SO ready for a new batch of villains, and my assessment is the same as yours ... but if the campaign ended with Zola and not Red Skull, I would have been confused. :) I like the special mechanics for each villain, and am just thrilled to have more options to go up against. The Goblin/Osborn flipping mechanic is still my favorite. Thanks for watching! :)
You’ve gotten pretty unlucky there, what with hitting Shadows of the Past and at least one obligation in each game. Still pulled it out, though. Nice game.
@Scot Phelps It's almost like the Red Skull is doing some scheming to ensure the Shadows of the Past comes out to haunt the heroes! :) Thanks for watching!
Correct! Overlooked the ability to deal with toughness! Some great new keywords in this set. Just not thrilled with the villain and his minions having access to them too! ;)

13:20 the star for Crossfire's attack is supposed to be to remind you of his piercing. They messed up and forgot to add the star next to that text.
@wildinferno Makes sense that the star should have been under his basic text and not the boost text. Thanks! :)
Great Game! Working on my first play through I got nervous and used my Laser Cannon verses Taskmaster when I had a guard minion and I hit shadows of the past. So hopefully I won’t need it against Zola or Red Skull.
@Dan Lar To use your campaign tech now, or wait ... that is the question. ;)
Good luck in the final two scenarios!!

@Angel Paredes I'm hoping to keep them for Red Skull in the final battle. We'll see if that works or not. :)
Just a quick note, they're not precisely "one-time" use. You get to shuffle them into your deck for the rest of the scenario.
@Evan Chauvette Good point! And with the way I play Doctor Strange, he might get 3 to 4 uses out of it. ;)
What I meant was once per scenario. And besides, Dale was almost at the end of the encounter. If he had used it then, it would have been used just one time

So it helps ... a little.
Leadership definitely the most powerful aspect in multiplayer. Not sure about solo since I only play 2 handed but I bet it’s really good true solo too.
Leadership is arguably the best aspect in true Solo. Multiplayer it depends on the hero honestly.
@Jason Sesta I'm really liking a deck with plenty of heroes to jump in and help with attacking and thwarting and then being around to take a hit when needed. Really helps keep you in hero mode longer. :)
@Akmal I really need to play around more with Leadership solo, as I generally lead towards Aggression or Justice. Thanks for watching! :)
@@DaletheCasualGamer theres alot of busted combos with the leadership card rapid response its so good!
Rapid response is indeed amazing. Hope to see more leadership in the future!
32:03 can another hero play before the first player?
@Daniel Flare "Actions" can be requested from the active player so other heroes can play during another persons turn. The card being used must have the "Action" text. Very helpful in multiplayer games! :)
@@DaletheCasualGamer thank you. I've been playing true solo most of the time and didn't realise this flexibility in the game. Perfect!
That kind of coordination with players really brings out the cooperative nature of this game. :)
Absorbing Man's environments are sort of like Crossbones' weapons, but just different enough.
@David Ko. But when his side scheme comes out that gives him all the traits, that other treachery card is TERRIBLE! I think FFG did a great job with all the villains. I only have Red Skull left to play. :)

@lightninlad Sometimes laughter is all we can do when the encounter deck goes crazy! Glad you got some wins! Happy gaming! :)
Around @30:00 you should have used Mockingbird's ability to cancel dmg and bring her back to your hand instead of defending with her ;)
@Ionut Sandu That is definitely the better play! Thanks for watching!
I have to admit I keep forgetting to draw an encounter card when I kill a Hydra guard.
We are not alone! :D
I'm new to this game so my question is what is a trait and how does it affect Absorbing Man?
Traits will be on the Environment card (and that card will change along with traits throughout the game), and other cards will trigger differently depending on the trait. Hope that helps, and happy gaming!
@@DaletheCasualGamer I think it helps and thank you. I'm having trouble with all the keywords and when they trigger.

@vulkangamingTFU Yep, this was the 2nd of 5 scenarios, so wanted to keep that card for a more desperate situation. :)
