My grandma use to say, that whole concept of not recording our songs and language came from the bilagaana boarding school system. In a day of people being holier than others, as a Navajo, I’m grateful you’re able to show the world our beautiful way of prayer. And for you non Navajos, the greatest gift you can give a Navajo is food and water. The greatest honor you can give a Navajo is asking him or her to attend you in your moment of prayer.
K’e- it’s how we understand each other. How we respect each other. How we love each other. How we take care of each other. As long as there’s someone there to let the whole world know we are still here, I know the fire is going to be tended to in dark times.

I have some Diné in my bloodline and I just found these songs by accident the other day when I was getting ready to commit suicide and if it wasn't for these songs I would have done it. So thank you to the Holy Ones and the Singers, Medicine Men and whoever uploaded these songs. NATIVE PRIDE UNTIL MY LOVED ONES MISS ME!

Not learning these songs in a ceremony could have an affect on you. My grandparents were both healers and I respected them enough to not record them. Even if it meant not learning from them. It is up to us, the individual wanting to learn and carry on these songs by attending ceremonies. The songs are only meant for ceremonial purpose and should not be shared with Biligaanas. They are the reason(s) for some of our songs to protect ourselves against what they have done to our ancestors since contact.

Hello, My name is Audry Brady. I am an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation. I am not sure how it is you acquired these recordings of our scared songs, but I would appreciate and urge you to take them down immediately. These songs are not meant to be recorded for other to hear outside of scared events and only to be used during scared ceremonies. I will be reporting this to the Navajo Nation Medicine Men Association and to the Native American Right fund for further legal action if they are not taken down.

If I may ask, who's too say the person being recorded did not already up their rights to have these songs shared?
There are numerous songs recorded on wax cylinders that the medicine men recorded so that the next generation would always have them.
Much like books written of the culture these songs are free for the public to use for studies.
I may be wrong, but I have read this in autobiography works. Thank you for your time.
