The job is working towards a common goal of not just survival but successful growth for generations to come. This takes teamwork on a level boomers can't comprehend because all they understand is manipulation and power with gaslighting or money.

mad respect for the fact that dax took the time to become incredibly aware of his motivations. the raw honesty he’s willing to look at himself, his childhood, and his actions with is insanely hard to achieve. congratulations, most people stay stuck for their entire life because they’re unwilling to ask why they’re doing what they’re doing.

@@jessyelane11111 Do you mind clarifying or specifying which two episodes you’re talking about?
I’m a bit confused as the results I see when searching for these two were uploaded 4 months ago, but your comment was written 9 months ago!
Honestly unsure, I might be trippin’ this late at night but I remember loving this episode between Theo and Dax when it first released, and well, the TLDR is that I’m currently not in a good place (no pun intended), and revisiting this episode with more heavy experiences under my belt was certainly…something. It really resonated with me, so I think that regardless of whether you get a chance to respond or not (though I’d certainly appreciate it!), I’ll definitely give the Anna Kendrick and Day 7 Dax episodes from 4 mo. ago a watch either way.
I only knew Dax from the first few seasons of Parenthood, and I had no idea how many skeletons he had in his closet. Guess I’m just trying to say I’m simply grateful for this particularly special interview, and likely will be thankful for your suggestions after giving those two pod episodes a watch.
      Cheers.

If you want to dive headfirst into how open, honest, and vulnerable he is on his podcast, then start with Day 7, and then go back and work your way through from the beginning*. That’s the episode where he admits to us, his audience, 7 days after he told the Kristen & his co-host and friend Monica, that, after 16 years of sobriety, he had relapsed. And that he had been using for a few months, I believe. Really raw, really vulnerable, really emotional episode. We were so proud of hard. It’s a fantastic episode, but it’s definitely hard to listen to. Worth it, though.
*The first official episode is INTENSE, because it’s with Kristen (Bell, his wife), and it was NOT how he wanted that episode to go, and it’s pretty brave they both decided to release it, regardless. That says a lot about his level of honesty and transparency, because they were FIGHTING, for real; it’s a raw premiere episode)

Can we please get a permanent Theo and Dax once a month podcast show together!? Y’all have perfect chemistry for a duo podcast. Maybe specialized in only getting guest celebrities with past drug problems or something like that. I think it could be a hilarious monthly reminder of why we are staying sober and healing while hearing how much better their lives have gotten since getting sober, all while laughing together about all the dumb stuff we all used to do intoxicated. Think it would be such a great niche to fill being a monthly thing and you two are the perfect host for this to be done in the perfect way. It could be AA meetings for people who can’t or don’t attend meetings. Thanks for this incredible episode!

Being around other sober people, when you've been there yourself, is a level of understanding and openness, without judgement, that is very comfortable and its hard to find that with people who aren't recovered yet, or have never experienced it. So I'm currently struggling to kick alcohol. I've been successful kicking the meth (near 2 years now), and I did it on my own. I thought I was trying hard, trying to get my drinking down to 1, maybe 2 times a month. That went well for about 7 weeks, and I've been back to drinking 3 or 4 times a week again (used to be 7 days a week). Anyway, I always try to do it on my own. Hearing these two talk about being in recovery amongst others, and they speak so positively of the experience....has encouraged me to decide to reach out & find a local group that might help me with this battle.

Well, 80% of divorces are initiated by the woman, and women typically use children as pawns in a vindictive game after divorce, so they absolutely need to realize the harm they cause. 800k men around the world unalive themselves each year and no one cares, if the genders were reversed, it would be a world crisis.

I've never really kept up with Dax, but I definitely have a newfound respect for the man. He seems like the kind of people you'd wanna surround yourself with.

Such an amazing show. Sent it to my partner. If only every man had this awareness and humbleness. No words to fully explain how it makes a woman feel to see men this real and raw. Serious props to these men.
