PERFECTLY TIMED AGH I totally needed this. I'm expanding my editing skills from FCPX to Premiere Pro and the learning curve is majorrrr. That pancake timeline trick was genius and so simple!

This would help me keep my workflow more tidy and efficient. Never knew there was a possibility of having a 2nd timeline. Thanks!

Interesting video. You'd store the HQ media on your computer HD, not a separate drive?

A lot of this makes so much sense and I was actually unaware of the proxy files thing. I have never dove deep enough into the full capabilities of Premiere pro but with that being said, I feel like there's scenarios where you want to edit video to a specific song file like a highlight reel or montage so you need to make sure transitions and impactful moments are happening in time and on beat. I do this a lot for @GardenStateEsports but everyone's workflow is a little different and all the basic ideas you mention here are awesome.

Useful stuff! I always catch myself trying to produce a finished product shot for shot and it makes way more sense to go the rough cut / fine cut / etc way! Cheers!

Thank you for making this Video. The Folder Structure is the one thing I will put into play for now as I am a one-man show and just really learning to wrap my head around all of this Editing World. If you have a Video that is let's say beginner stages as you could point me to that would be great. Ciao, for Now, ~~ Michael

Hell yeah! TY. Is it bad that I'm doing all my editing process in AE only? I feel pretty comfortable with precompose and shy thing, heh. We're talking about not so massive projects, tho.

Thank you very much, great video and straight to the point. As always! 😀 If possible, when, how and with what program do you batch rename? Nativ file names are not always that easy to understand ... And one more: is there a way to sort files in a project bin when it was recorded? Much to often I find them kind of randomly sorted...

I'm new to this and have a questions.... I paid for the yearly subscription and I'm unable to open any of the files on Motion Array. I can download on iphone, ipad and HP computer but, I can't open any of the ZIP files. Not sure what to do - Also, is Motion Array only compatible with some editing software?

I was literally ready to lay down $250 for a year subscription but the instruction process is horrible. I downloaded the software and want to try out some of the free plugins to see how it works before I pay. But for the life of me I can't figure out how to download these plugin's or however it works. Very confusing and frustrating. A step by step tutorial on how to bring it all into Premiere Pro would be amazing. And if you already have a tutorial on how to do that, you need to put that tutorial on your website or at least make it so it's easy to find on your UA-cam page among the other 50-100 video you already have. I was pretty excited to try all this and now I'm just flustered at the process of figuring out how to bring it into Premiere. I give up.

Seems like a good process if you have a sound engineer who's going to match the music to the cut.
I think most of us are cutting the footage to the music though. So the cut still changes when we add the music.
    Or am I wrong?

But if you're doing all that by yourself, I guess during the fine cut, you'll need to color correct, mix the audio and so on.
