Daniel Smith and crew .. This is INSANE! Seriously looks great! Youre gonna make movies for a living ! Could not believe this, it looked so professional! Might see you in a month when im in TN again.. Niels Brogger
I enjoyed this, A LOT. The filming is great, and the suspenseful/empty atmosphere is kept throughout the film. Would love to see what happens next, or even a longer film produced! Nice work (:
Aw thats a sad ending :-( Amazing short film though I really enjoyed it alot :)....great job to everyone involved. You see what 28 days later is like in England, so this could definitely be what 28 days later is like in America..but obviously 8 days after the infection lol. A TRULY GREAT SHORT FILM THOUGH! :D
Trevor, Daniel...great job, proud of you guys. This is how you do it, this is how you get your stuff seen. i'm just hoping that people at some of the studios, whatever, see this, have you in, you get meetings, you have scripts, etc...and then you get that first picture. Coz everything here was way solid, the look, a signature style, all your values were right on...i liked the you excised some frames, that jumpy cut. Trevor, you were absolutely believable, dont EVER give up...thats the KEY.
He runs a mile in 61/2 minutes and zombies run in 8 minutes. The only problem with this scenario. The Zombies are relentless and you will get tired and die. If there fast zombies. No one has a chance.
All you have to do is not be a phat fuck and be lucky enough to have done a lot of cardio before the apocalypse started and u will surely survive if u ain't dumb enough !
wow. good work on the filming and editing plus choice of music. really creates a mood. maybe check more on the screenplay and writing. if you match that, you could easily do a pro-duction. great work. more of this.
I thought that this was overall well done and I applaud this short film. I do like the harsh crushed colors and camera shots. Gunshot sound and muzzle flash was the only shortfall, and the out of ammo/faulty cartridge was quite cliché, but still well done. I look forward to seeing more.
Very nicely done! And highly inspiring!! As others have said, not all the music did it for me (in the mood of the story that is), but I particularly love th first bit of music with our hero running through the forrest being chased. Overall, I'm pretty jealous of such a great result!!
Nice Flick!!!!! Love this with the BTBAM track in it. That's like a million cool points alone. I was like "WOAH SHIT!" (I should patent that phrase, right? LOL!) at the scene @6:35. Nice dude, Niiiiihhhhhaaaaiiiiiceeee!
I fell in love with the cinematography, you show great build in the edit..the story, could be a little more involved, but I appreciate how difficult this art can be...great overall job!!
I liked this short very much indeed. Sure, i could find faults with it, but why bother. This is UA-cam and someone has made a fucking good effort too entertain us. Nice one Wild.
Dude I love this! I made a short film semi similar to a post apocalyptic film and your piece inspires me to make a prequel form to it in the point of view of a soldier squad or something like that. VERY BEAUTIFUL cinematography well done!
The nature of the infection is that it dulls the mind into some routine while triggering the paranoid nightmare of thinking every other human a monster. This makes the National Guard soldiers with military weapons called out at the start of the epidemic the most dangerous of the infected. They methodically stalked the countryside shooting people, some of them infected, others trying to escape or help the other infected.. The most obvious giveaway is that the paranoia focuses on the threats the infected are culturally trained to expect. Consequently, an armed soldiers hallucinates all moving humans as young adult male monsters. One infected was driven out of a house by an elderly woman he believed was a black male "zombie" trying to bite his throat out. He was too befuddled to realize he had fired the last shot from the clip on his rifle. She saw him as some other kind of threat, knocked him down, and then escaped. Ironically, a neighbor, also infected, then killed the hallucinating soldier with his own military-style assault weapon.
just a tip to find music, all you need to do is look up a few lyrics on google and you can find songs easy, for songs with no words, theres an app that tells you what song it playing.
I liked it. The production values were high,.. the acting was good and I liked the ironic/tragic ending as in the Night of the living dead where the last survivor dies at the end.
What camera did you use and do you have a website that showcases your work other than your UA-cam page? This was absolutely fantastic! The quality is surprisingly good for a low key short. Are you a student, pro, or a hobby filmmaker?
I think a bullet jam would have been better. It's not like you wouldn't feel the weight difference being a soldier. Not too mention he wasn't in a fire fight. Plenty of time to check ammo. Entertaining none the less.
Great, love it. The editing and song choice are the best. Though i kinda thought that the third session was kinda pointless. Also what were the songs at 0:52 and 4:16?
hey great work with the song, im in love with it haha its great if you could only tell me a space or a mail or something to contact you or listen your song cuz the intro sounds great, i´ll realy apreciate it... thanks
I couldn't help but noticed the soundbite you used for the M4, Gun Rifle Shot 2. Not a bad pick for the soundbite, but problem is your hearing the sound of the rifle reloading like it was a Winchester. I would suggest Gun Hand shot 5 or Gun Rifle Shot 3, for single shots (you won't hear the sound of the rifle cocking) and Gun M1 Machine Shot for multiple shots. Granted this video was done back in 2008 so you've probably gotten better at post-production
Inspirational stuff, and bloody fantastic cinematography! Hats off to you lads, great job! :)
Very good film. Music choices were fantastic. Thankyou.
wooooooow!!!! you guys made a really great series of clips. like no BS its amazing stuff. right on man
Daniel Smith and crew .. This is INSANE! Seriously looks great! Youre gonna make movies for a living ! Could not believe this, it looked so professional! Might see you in a month when im in TN again..

I enjoyed this, A LOT. The filming is great, and the suspenseful/empty atmosphere is kept throughout the film. Would love to see what happens next, or even a longer film produced! Nice work (:
Great music and good movie too. I was wishing it was longer too, good work
great film! awesome props, and good acting. One of the best short films i've ever seen
This was a great movie. I loved it. Good tight dialogue, good script and plot. Well done lads. Keep it up. 👏👏👏👍
Aw thats a sad ending :-(
Amazing short film though I really enjoyed it alot :)....great job to everyone involved. You see what 28 days later is like in England, so this could definitely be what 28 days later is like in America..but obviously 8 days after the infection lol. A TRULY GREAT SHORT FILM THOUGH! :D
I remember this film from a long time ago. It was really cool and still is.
great tunes, good video, thank you
I remember seeing this back in 2006 or 2007, great short film
Trevor, Daniel...great job, proud of you guys. That was very well done, liked it a lot. You've earned yourself a subscriber here!
this is a cinematographic masterpiece
loved it .....enjoyed the house to house zomcombat too......very Wild!!!
He runs a mile in 61/2 minutes and zombies run in 8 minutes. The only problem with this scenario. The Zombies are relentless and you will get tired and die. If there fast zombies. No one has a chance.
The infected get tired too, they're not dead.
All you have to do is not be a phat fuck and be lucky enough to have done a lot of cardio before the apocalypse started and u will surely survive if u ain't dumb enough !
wow. good work on the filming and editing plus choice of music. really creates a mood. maybe check more on the screenplay and writing. if you match that, you could easily do a pro-duction. great work. more of this.
seriously some of the best cinematography in amateur short films
that was awesome! you should be makin millions off of movies
wonderful film, cinematography and wide open spaces balanced out the violence.
I thought that this was overall well done and I applaud this short film. I do like the harsh crushed colors and camera shots. Gunshot sound and muzzle flash was the only shortfall, and the out of ammo/faulty cartridge was quite cliché, but still well done.
I look forward to seeing more.
The first five minutes are still my favorite after all these years
"They all move the same."
Nicely done!
Rule #1: Cardio! :D
I'm a friend of Niels, and I must say that I'm very impressed :) It looked very pro, and the music is good for the mood in the movie.
Great cinematography on this one! Good job guys.
Wow. Very well done, ending was impressively done, caught me by surprise.
Very nicely done! And highly inspiring!! As others have said, not all the music did it for me (in the mood of the story that is), but I particularly love th first bit of music with our hero running through the forrest being chased. Overall, I'm pretty jealous of such a great result!!
that cutting sound was so good at the beggining
Nice Flick!!!!! Love this with the BTBAM track in it. That's like a million cool points alone. I was like "WOAH SHIT!" (I should patent that phrase, right? LOL!) at the scene @6:35. Nice dude, Niiiiihhhhhaaaaiiiiiceeee!
That upbeat music and the guy running away from zombies just made me lose it 😂
I fell in love with the cinematography, you show great build in the edit..the story, could be a little more involved, but I appreciate how difficult this art can be...great overall job!!
I liked this short very much indeed. Sure, i could find faults with it, but why bother. This is UA-cam and someone has made a fucking good effort too entertain us. Nice one Wild.
Lol...Well done.. Especially how the beginning connects to the end.. both of the whole movie and session 4. A doom foreshadowed.
Dude I love this! I made a short film semi similar to a post apocalyptic film and your piece inspires me to make a prequel form to it in the point of view of a soldier squad or something like that. VERY BEAUTIFUL cinematography well done!
Some really beautiful shots as well, especially the one where it is snowing with the gun and soldier's hat :)
That was a perfect use of BTBAM. Did not expect that at all!
I Love This Short Film!!
the best short film I have ever seen, ever, and I've seen more than my fare share
Big Rig - "If I can move mountains I can move you"
They are a local band

such a sad ending for the survivor, he was only wounded.
i can't believe that. . the first time i have ever heard between the buried and me used in any film. they're so amazing. ^_^

Good photography, good scenes
Well, that was extremly unexpected. Good work on this.

just a tip to find music, all you need to do is look up a few lyrics on google and you can find songs easy, for songs with no words, theres an app that tells you what song it playing.
Nicely filmed. Good ending. Well done.
Only question is....how many times do you have to kill the same zombie? They guy in the tattered vest?
remember this was 4 years ago...
I liked it. The production values were high,.. the acting was good and I liked the ironic/tragic ending as in the Night of the living dead where the last survivor dies at the end.
I liked it love shorts like this.
What camera did you use and do you have a website that showcases your work other than your UA-cam page?
This was absolutely fantastic! The quality is surprisingly good for a low key short. Are you a student, pro, or a hobby filmmaker?
Nicely done. One shot per. Broken zombie does not need finish
The zombie running was fucking hilarious
Love it!! Mind if I ask what camera you use? Me and my husband and trying to start on a project and we aren't sure what camera to get...Amazing job!

Song at 2:34 kinda sounded like the start of Knight Rider😂😂😂 Nice short film btw👍
very nice video it looks amazing and its an enjoyment to watch this video ;)
Nice work bro. I felt like the time lapse sessions were a bit short but good work. I'd love to hear your thoughts on some of my stuff.
The ending really pissed me off. Hes a good guy
It has that cinematic feel, so often attempted, so seldom achieved. I wonder what camera you used?
What camera did you use to make this. The quality is great!
i think you are talking about like when it puts the song on for a short period of time through out the vid and if so that song is called "the funeral"
Please post the name of the song at 3:55 pleaseeeee!! its great, i love this vid
i like it that they did that because it is used alot in action movies
wow, nice attention to detail on the soldier, great delta force style outfit, was the M4 real or a high-end airsoft? Either way very nice.
6 out of 5 stars man
amazing
I think he knew he wasn't a zombie yet but he was still infected and there was nothing he could do for him. life ain't fair :-(
That guy would be insanely fit to run an 6.5 minute mile in gear. Even a light load.
that was so sick. loved it
Whats the song at the part where he's running away from the zombies at the beginning?
One more film about zombie. Was it worth making?
I think a bullet jam would have been better. It's not like you wouldn't feel the weight difference being a soldier. Not too mention he wasn't in a fire fight. Plenty of time to check ammo. Entertaining none the less.
7 years later....
