Walking up Arthur's Seat in Edinburgh, Scotland
I had to remove the audio due to very strong winds on the day
Arthur's Seat is the main peak of the group of hills in Edinburgh, United Kingdom which form most of Holyrood Park, described by Robert Louis Stevenson as "a hill for magnitude, a mountain in virtue of its bold design". It is situated in the centre of the city of Edinburgh, about 1 mile (1.6 km) to the east of Edinburgh Castle. The hill rises above the city to a height of 250.5 m (822 ft), provides excellent panoramic views of the city, is relatively easy to climb, and is popular for hillwalking. Though it can be climbed from almost any direction, the easiest and simplest ascent is from the east, where a grassy slope rises above Dunsapie Loch. At a spur of the hill, Salisbury Crags has historically been a rock climbing venue with routes of various degrees of difficulty; however due to hazards rock climbing is now restricted to the South Quarry and a free permit is required.
Climbed up it with my wee sister May many times in the very early 50's from Duddingston Village , as we lived in Bingham then . So very beautiful is Edinburgh .
Planning to go there after lockdown
Brings back memories. It is a lovely hike. Can't wait to go back one day.
was there last dec n cant forget the time in Edinburgh just like a dream
It surely reminds me of the days I've gone travel to the Edinburgh about 2 yrs ago, escaping from all the reality I had to face. just chilled on the arthur seat with a single ice cream, tryna leave the bad memories back in my country. I still can't believe how that short trip has changed my life
what a wonderful video, one of my fav places in Edinburgh, Scotland
Thank you for this video. I've decided to have a final scene of my novel's climax up there, and your video is exactly what I need. I've never been to Holyrood Park, so I was struggling to imagine a clear route from the road up to the Arthur's Seat - and I wanted it to be accurate. Now it will be. Cheers RS Focus 435!
Beautiful video!!! Thank you for posting great to watch
This is so wonderfully amazing that I don't need any music at all... ❤️❤️❤️❤️
The last time i climbed Arthur's seat was in 2004 with my Sister and brother in law Dave , when i was back home for a holiday from Redcliffe Queensland Australia was 65 at the time , so only a few stops to get my wind back then . Duncan Pitkeathly .
I'm from down south way but try to get to Edinburgh once a year at least, Always do Arthur's Seat has part of my day

Hi there, great video. I am looking to hike up Arthur's Seat and was wondering which route you used here?
Hi, it depends on which way you come from but I came from the end of the royal mile road
@@RSFocus435 That's great, thanks!
love it
The parks changed an awfy lot since I was young, there's no sheep anymore, me and my brother were never away for to exercise our dogs, but our dogs didn't worry sheep, to clever for that, though we did see a couple of dogs get shot when younger for sheep and they deserved it anyway its a great place for you and your dog to keep fit. I've known the whole park for years, been up Arthur's seat many times. Beautiful place
my cousin died there after falling off the steep edge. Faye RIP
I’m here from forza and I’m just waiting to here a roaring engine in the background
What is the girl at 11:52 wearing on her head? is this a Scottish custom?
What is this music called? I've seen this video more than 50 times just to hear this lovely music.
ua-cam.com/video/pMJiM8kdd1U/v-deo.html here you go and thanks for watching
Nice..
Is it difficult to climb? Does it require full gear and training in order to climb and not for amateur?
a pair any hiking boots or sports shoes will do, no training is required and you can stop as many times as you like along the way - it's not a walk in the park but it is very doable - after all, this is hill of around 250 metres high, not a mountain - I was there last week on a Sunday, lots of walkers around, even kids and dogs
What is camera and tools you have used to make it stabilize like that ?
Abdulrahman Hassan Hi, Gopro Hero 4 Black in a Feiyu Tech G4S Gimble
wonder where he pushed her off, where is steepest bit?
Okay. Walk up to the top to the summit and have walked to 822 feet above sea level. Living in my flat you're about 35 feet above sea level.
Hi, I was wondering if I could get permission to use a small bit of your video in my documentary. I am need of some good footage of Arthurs seat and this is very nice material. Thank you in advance. Best, Cécile Desaint
Sure not a problem
@@RSFocus435 Thank you so much. How do you want your name to appear in the credits?
