I think one of the most frustrating things from the aspect of someone from the States, is seeing how swiftly this is all being taken care of. Meanwhile, here, it's almost business as normal for an insurrection. It's infuriating. And the fact that, in certain ways, it's not a bipartisan issue there, many citizens understand the gravity and take it seriously, it's just not the same here. I saw interviews done by the Asian Boss channel right after the martial law was repealed, and even the young guy who said he wasn't really into politics was way more knowledgeable than so many people here. I have to give it to the SK people and the government. While there are many things that need to change (and this is for most governments around the world), they really fought for their independence and the continuation of it.
A rather divided society. We even see supporters of Yoon and the conservatives rallying, waving both US and RoK flags. Liberals, leftists and workers, now led by younger people have placards, the RoK flag, effigies, banners and light-sticks where they all chant for change and Yoon’s resignation.
From Philippines here, while my country’s constitution may have defined impeachment grounds explicitly, it hasn’t stopped so many serving public officials from betraying public trust on a daily basis 😅
And the midterm elections too. An ongoing spat between Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Sara Duterte-Carpio over a WIDE VARIETY of issues. And the interference of the House Speaker and presidential cousin Martin Romualdez 😢😢😢😢
I’ve really appreciated all your posts on the presidential impeachment etc. you have a knack for explaining complex issues in a way that makes it understandable and relatable. And of course with your inimitable style and humour. Thank you
SIR!! Once again! I'M AT WORK!! Gobbling fig newtons. This time, I startled a customer. SMH🤣🤣🤣 I was walking around like, man this is really deep. Taking mental notes to look some things up and you hit me with that.
I've translated and uploaded some recent president speeches to his people if anyone's interested. It can help understand some political stance between president and opposition party.
Neither his prime minister and interim president Han Duck-soo despite his non-affiliation with any major political parties. And he was a former cabinet member and even prime minister to the late president Roh Moo-hyun, but resigned due to policy divergence. He was even later the South Korean ambassador to the US and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) secretariat in Paris, France - a club of developed nations. Han’s speech on assuring allies and preparing for any “provocations” from North Korea makes him another “yes-man” to US interests like the conservative (Liberty Party of Korea and People Power Party) clique.
I love the explanation but I’m afraid that not having the 7 judges will cause trouble later. All this explains the delay tactics of the ruling party, more than them not wanting the leader of the opposition to become president. They are trying to run down the clock on the term for the existing judges and complain on the unconstitutionality of only having 6 judges! Is it possible for the acting president to appoint a new one and extend the terms of the current judges until this case is over?
No to the death penalty. He needs to spend the rest of his life in jail reflecting on what he did, and watching those he believes are lesser than himself go on to prosper,
Park GeunHye & Choe SunSil are the same; isn't Choi's father also Park's spiritual mentor? causing the result of the whole disorder. Isn't it the same now? Yoon's spiritual mentor was introduced by Juliet. Juliet believed in this mentor before marrying Yoon, and this mentor also put a lot of effort into their selection. Now they have to bear the result themselves. Yoon has to deal with it all, but he doesn’t cooperate... He kept skipping, and in the end he could only get arrested, right?
A constitution is just a piece of paper. The Soviet Union's constitution was roughly similar to the US constitution. On paper the Soviets had free speech. Again, just a piece of paper. In the US, the post civil war amendments meant to protect former slaves were almost exclusively used to expand the power of business interests. What you see that really matters is power and the distribution of power in a society. So what institutions exist, who they represent and their power is what matters the most.
yea the Constitutional court will decide on the fate of South Korea, will the President be limited to enacting martial law, only in war, as of my understanding, it's wide open for any circumstance that is similar to war. So a political take over would fit, which is what Yoon originally enacted Martial Law for... but did not stand by. sadly... he might've been ok if he stood his ground, but being wishy washy might be the end of his political career, sadly....
Didn't Yoon make multi-billion dollar deals with S.Arabia? Isn't that part of that SA wealth fund that MHJ and Kakao tries to get investors from? It just seems like there is a lot of foreign money involved whenever there is trouble.
SK didn't carry out the death penalty after 1997? I don’t think SK will break “the country that has actually abolished the death penalty” (i.e., has not carried out the death penalty in more than 10 years) because of him, and it will have an impact on the country’s image.
For ILLEGALLY declaring martial law, there are rules about when the President can declare it without it being counted as treason, he did not meet those requirements. His actions could have installed himself as a dictator, which cannot be treated lightly.
Wow what a great video. Nice work again Sean

I really admire you for being able to explain such a long and complicated matter so clearly 💟💜
Thanks for the explanation. It was very informative. I'm from Europe. Now some things are clearer to me

Great analysis, thanks for posting.
Oh God! Thank you so Much for the explanation... But i still think it's a complicated way to apply the Law....
Keep up the great work. More videos on politics and other actual news, please.
Fig newton's, cookies 😂. Love it!! I shouldn't laugh as the content is quite serious but your explanations are very clear. Thank you!

Did the president ever consider he should run this through a group of top tier lawyers on his staff BEFORE he acted

So he got the former president out of jail just to take her place??
and what's about his wife? did she still be under prosecution for corruption?
It's been a while since I said "I have not been born yet" regarding of something

Have you heard about the shaman? The same as 🧙 in my opinion, even how he avoid legal questions/actions by not home

About new jeans and their new ig account and how much in trouble they are

What's so sad about that?
The question is who is in control of the Constitutional Court

We, here in America better keep our eyes on Elon Musk and all the criminals closed to Trump!

Brandon pardoned his own son from 2014 to the present day. That is almost 10 years of criminal activity
Trump has already shown his colors when he stated that he will pardon January 6th insurrectionists
Actually I think I know one then he can be a page on I think he's took away their freedom of speech the soldiers want to join the army or not
Lo que hizo fue grave, pero de verdad puede ir a prisión, sólo por declarar Ley Marcial? O por mandar a las tropas para evitar que voten en contra ?
JUST?? That takes away civic rights and ordinary life stops! Where do you live?

I hope Korean handle impeachment better than America.
were you planning to impeach anyone? i didn't even hear about it
