Came across so many DIY Aquarium videos on YT but this video is by far the best, specially on the two methods (dry/wet) that you've show of scraping the silicone, absolutely loved it!!!👍🏻🤟🏻
Such a wonderful and scary video. My silicoln work is so terrible and I don't trust myself for any diy projects anymore, rather hire a pro. Can't wait for the next video
@@ShrimpMania Dude! I appreciate your encouragement, but you have YEARS of wood working and building in your muscle memory. I can tell by how smoothly you moved. Don't sell yourself short. You have skills that most folks do not have! (BUT they should all try. That's how you get better!)
@@kernalbert4939 well said thank you for kind words, yes I have years of experience as a carpenter this is what I do for a living. Now I can use my DIY skills in my aquarium hobby and hopefully it helps others people as well
you are AWESOMEEEEEE ME AND MY CHILD WE ARE NEW IN THE HOBBIE AND WE LOVE YOUR CHANNEL . My kid livo to watch all the time the Shrimp . But i need to ask you something.... We want to make our Tank and i would like to make like yours .... i mean with the size of the tanks that you have . Could you please Sent the exact Cm of the Glasses because its a little bit tricky . Much love from Greece . keep the Perfect Job of this Channel.
Hello brother, I know I'm late, but I'm also a shrimp keeper. Could you please share the dimensions as well of your tanks, like the sizes of your tanks
Thank you Steve, trucks are for real men😂 I wish I can buy American version of Ford track they look so cool and I think they even slightly bigger but they are very rare in Europe. It's just cheap window glass I was using 4mm (1/6 of an inch) thick
12:43 wet your finger with your spit and it makes it smooth out better also keeps it off your wet finger. issue with it is you can only do it one line at a time, so you must clean off the finger after (maybe not considering you have this taped and the extra on the finger may not matter), but because of the spit it wont stick to the skin. the silicon isnt water soluble. fyi i subbed, thanks for your help, many thanks from arkansas usa

You can calculate the glass dimensions to your exact specific size from the formula I flashed on the screen at 0:55 but for that, you need a calculator and a little brain I hope you have both
@@ShrimpMania it's not about me I have been doing it for some time now . however there are many beginners who look at your videos for guidence. I found that I often break the glass in the wrong place when I'm using the pliers. It happens if you apply too much pressure. So the hands work better from my experience
@@ShrimpMania i used to do aquariums.. the side panels should each be applied to the sides. Each side panel should be connected to the base from the sides of the base panel, not sat on top...
m.ua-cam.com/video/O2VhiH3Ou0w/v-deo.html if you watch this, the side panels connect to the side of the base on all four sides, not sat on top if the base.. but to be honest.. this only really matters on biggers tanks
I know I have one of my tank made that way, but this method I'm using is work well for me and I think it's a bit easier to do. I don't see much of the difference if be honest

Thank you Ray. That's why I'm using masking tape to make neat silicone line, you just need to try it, I'm sure you can make it as good as me

Nice video as always.... 1st comment 😁😁😁
Thank you, sir!
Love the truck, I am a Ford truck guy myself. You have enough sandpaper for a lot of tanks. 😂 Great video, is it special glass, or just window glass?

Hi.
Happy to find your channel 👌🏿🤤
I have a question
Whats your tank sizes?
And suggestions on approporiate size?
It depends and If you want to keep Caridina shrimp then the bigger the tank is better. 50L or more I would say
good video man
Great vid , i guess you use the same method for making ugf filter boxes?
Thanks, yes exactly the same!
Nice.. 👍 thanks for sharing
Thanks for visiting
appreciate
keep in mind if you get toughened glass you dont need to sand it and no risk for scratching the glass

Awesome 💪🏽
Normal glass or clear glass?
Hi what are you dimensions on you’re tanks
The tanks in the video are roughly 50x40x35
Хорошо получилось. :)
Thank you Andrey
do you prefer glass or acrylic?
glass for sure, acrylic is very easy to scratch

INFORMATIVE VIDEO BUT MISSED MOST IMPORTANT PART GLASS DIMENSIONS SPECIALLY ITS SHOULD HAVE BEEN IN DETAIL ALL THE 3 METHODS

A pair of pliers are a much better option for breaking the small cut! Terrifying watching you break it with your thumb! Great video otherwise 👌

The side panels should sit on the edge of the bottom not on top
Who said that?

Yeah i agree.. for smaller tanks it is fine
