Hot take but Radahn was the true winner of their battle. Edit (3/19): Just to clarify in the video since I think a lot of people got confused since I failed to have explained it well enough, when Malenia bloomed the Scarlet Aeonia against us, this was the Second Time she bloomed, she wasn't a true goddess yet, she was approaching Godhood. She needed to bloom one more time. In the ending part as well, if you betray Milicent, she blooms into the flower, and drops an item that says that this is her "true" form and that she will bloom into a Scarlet Valkyrie after some time. This might also happen with Malenia and might be her 3rd bloom. (theory) I hope that clarifies it better, I'll be sure to better clarify these vague stuff in future videos. Also, apologies for the slight popping in the audio, I couldn't figure out what was causing it even after re-recording. Will do better next video.
@@ryo9630 I think it's trauma from fighting her that makes everyone hate her. I like her character personally and don't really get the crazy distain some people show for her.
That lore alone convinced me to make that ash the one I upgrade to +10 lol just think of how far they had to travel, while enemies were attacking from all sides, while carrying a goddess on your back. Damn.
People would say “malenia won” or Radahn won” but I dont think anybody won, like Ranni says. Like really, both armies failed to claim victory, and nothing came of their battle except the strongest of both armies basically getting fucked from it. There was nothing achieved from all that fighting except despair and death. Rather than a winner everyone loses
@@Silver4Hire2 That seem more like a duel and you can duel without problem in a war leader vs leader so i don't see the problem but doesn't matter And yes on this modern days a duel seems like the dumbest idea to do in a war it's understandable
I don't think we really know who was the better swordsman between Malenia and Radahn because didn't it say Malenia just up and went with the nuclear option? I guess I could say that I win too if I dropped a tactical nuke on my army and my enemy's army, barely survived, and was carried to safety by one of my surviving soldiers.
The moment you die to anyone in Elden ring you been defeated Malenia is just better than anyone. Imagine if being killed once in Elden ring made you recreate a character hahaha...
@Vaunnie No one is downplaying anything. Malenia is the hardest boss in the game, WAYYYYYYYYYYY harder than Radahn imo. Fuck the lore and who is debatably stronger, Malenia made everyone know that she is the blade of Miquella for damn sure.
The fact that none of the strongest beings we've fought in Elden Ring were at their true potential when we faced them, makes me wonder what future expansions and games could possibly have for us. As unlikely as it is to happen, the thought of clashing with a sane Radahn or a fully manifested rot goddess Malenia, sends shivers down my spine.
It's kinda fromsofts forte that every god boss monster you fight is sort of just an empty husk of what they once were with you just ending their misery.
Mohg is pretty much at full strength and I think Rykard can only get exponentially more powerful. We just cut down Mohg because the alternative isn’t thinkable and Rykard was relatively early in his development of becoming the covetous demon 2.
We fought the elden beast and beat it and that’s stronger than radahn and malenia in their prime so our character at this point ain’t worried about anyone
It's really just perfect that the words "The Tarnished will not be overturned-" is followed immediately by a death montage. Really just perfectly arranged.
6:53 I think it’s the second time the flower blooms. The first time was probably a childhood incident, in which Malenia lost her arm. You can find that flower in the room next to Malenia’s boss room at the root of the haligtree. The scarlet aeonia item description says whenever this flower blooms, Malenia’s rot advances, and when it blooms the third time, she will become a true goddess. The third time would be her fighting the player. That explains why her title in the second phase is “Malenia, Goddess of Rot”.
that's an interesting thought. It always seemed strange that she knew how to unleash the rot against Radahn when she never did it before. I assumed that was the first time and the room was the second time but your way makes more sense
2:08 It feels like GRRM wrote Malenia's master, he reminds me of Syrio Forel with their fighting styles evocative of flowing water, and both of them teaching girls to fight.
Maybe the Entity of Scarlet Rot is doing the same as the Elden Beast and The Greater Will. Searching for a host who in this case can bloom a couple of times to inherite the power of this Outer God just like Marika and the Elden Ring.
Thats definitely it, most if not all the demi gods are being somewhat fought for by an outer god. Malenia - rot god Moghwyn - formless mother Ranni - moon (but this is more Ranni’s choice) Miquella - Eclipse(?) unsure about this one Morgott - greater will (his choice) Rhykard - serpent (his choice) Seems like a free for all of outer gods trying to get champions.
This is super interesting because this is basically what the Great Ones in bloodborne were doing. They were all great ones, but had different agendas. The most obvious being the moon presence, imprisoning gehrman to lead the hunters to kill the baby of the great one Oedon. And then Nokron the eternal city itself just looks like a chalice dungeon from BB. Definately one of the best areas of the game
Her being an empyrean is a factor as well i think, it makes sense all the outer gods trying to get influence in the lands between and go against The Greater will. Both the greater will and elden beast n erdtree it self is not native to the lands between, they replaced whatever order or gods that was there and prob why they goes to war left and right with their neighbour.
Miquella creating a whole new material to marginally combat scarlet rot and I'm just over here with some fire giant spell that completely cures it in 4 seconds for 8FP.
@@zacharyhawley1693 right. it's one thing to catch the rot from breathing in spores, and another to have an outerdimensional rot god intertwined with the very fibers of your soul and being.
Two important details to add: 1) When Radahn seized the Stars he sealed the fate of many people, principally Caria, Ranni and Miquella. While less emphasized in lore compared to the former two Miquella’s Haligtree is described as needing an Eclipse to grow which at least occurred before The Shattering until it grew to the size of a tree. Any further growth became impossible due to Radahn and thus forced Malenia and her Cleanrot Knights to clash in Caelid if Miquella’s plan was to succeed 2) Mohg seemingly kidnapped Miquella sometime between Malenia going off to fight Radahn and getting carried back to Elphael by Finlay. Since she was in a coma this whole time she has no knowledge of Mohg’s plot nor his intention to raise Miquella to “true godhood”
but she said "as i awaited his return" implying she know that miquella has been stolen, did she know that he was stolen by mohg, idk, up for debate i think
@@farianandadiratama it never implies that she knew he’d been kidnapped lmao. “As i await his return” could mean shes waiting for him to come out the tree. Even if she did know he was gone she wouldnt have known he was kidnapped
Maybe when an empyrean is born, their very being is linked to an outer god, that's why the two fingers beings get assigned to an empyrean, so they can hinder that link to outer gods other than the Greater Will, that's why Ranni makes sure to kill her assigned two fingers and get rid of her body, so that she can get create a new order without all who came before. Miquella doesn't seem to have an assigned two fingers, Mohg took him and the formless mother is influencing the world through him with Mohg's help, maybe that's why he never grows, an "eternal son to a formless mother", that's the curse of a forceful link from an outer god, similarly Melania got linked to the outer god of rot, with her despair leaving her weak to that elder god's influence, blooming her, rebirthing her into something else, like Millicent mentioned.
That could explain the dead two fingers copies at the top of each Divine Tower, which I wondered about. It explains why the Roundtable Two Fingers instruct us to kill all the demigods, because they all shook off their handlers.
Mmm I don't think so. They are called empyreans because the two fingers consider them perfect beings. I see no reason the two fingers would consider them perfect or even allow them to live if they were linked to an outer God automatically as that would threaten the golden order and the greater will. No I don't don't it's automatic at all, I think the other outer gods considered them prime targets and began to use them like a parasite trying to force their way into the world to project their order and law of the world, atleast with Malenia it is not by choice. Ranni and Ryykard seem to have chosen other outer gods by their own will.
so dear commander, you and your army were undefeated so I grant you the titl-...oh unfortunately one of your foot soldiers died making you not undefeated its really up to definition if Malenia can call herself undefeated after fighting Radahn to a standstill. does fighting in a battle and not winning mean losing or does your opponent not winning mean that you won?

I love that, even with her being naked in her Scarlet Aeonian form, they chose to give her a realistic body type for an athlete/warrior. Malenia's second phase reminds me of classical art in the way it uses both her form and the blooming butterflies to represent beauty, rather than it focusing solely on her nudity. The latter half of her fight is a marvel of artistic game design.
It’s so amazing how they did it. Video games don’t exactly have the best reputation when it comes to how it deals with women (for good reason), but they managed to actually make it tasteful. Reminded me of “The birth of Venus”, with a good dose of my nightmares. I’ve never had the experience where I’ve been in awe because of just how artistically beautiful something is, while also shitting my pants in terror because of it.

That too is just as unrealistic as female characters like Black widow, Wonder woman, etc. yet no one seems to mind that for some reason just saying stuff like: 'ItS a MaLe PoWeR FaNtAsY!' Notice how tall most men are in video games aswell! Only around 15% of worlds men are over 6 feet. Now just add having a perfect face complexion and being very muscular and not overweight. And your looking at a less than 1% of men. Even if you dont see those as unrealistic even if it definetly is. You have to admid atleast that characters like: Jojo characters Hulk Zangief Geras Goro Etc Are unrealistic. Could i just ask why are unrealistic women not okay but unrealistic men are?
Really well done summary of Malenia! Nice work! That bit at the end is very striking, and makes me remember a part of her lore that mentions "If she blooms the third time, she'll ascend as a goddess". The scarlet flower she leaves after her defeat could be the third blooming, and she may only lay dormant in the center of it. Too bad we won't ever see what comes of it except if a sequel happens. But anyways, nice work!
Plus if you betray milicent and she blooms jer father (or the item you get from her) will tell you that she will be reborn as a rot valkyrie. So the same could aply to malenia, now that she "died" her transformation into a true goddess starts. Can you imagine if we have to stop her with miquella in the dlc? @@theoneandonly9775 True. I'm 100% sure they gonna get a lot of attention. Malenia and miquella are my favourite characters. I'm really interested what they'll do with them. DLC would be amazing!!
i always like the sort of contrast that comes from melania and the player character. She is undefeated and will give up even her pride and body to stay that way, whereas the tarnished of no renown is possibly the most defeated being there is. Ultimately one has to accept that defeat is an ultimate part in the cycle of life and by the end of the fight it feels like an epic moment of humbling as you show her the power of losing.

Another cool aspect of this game that the other games other than maybe sekiro is the game acknowledges that you are a super bad ass warrior at a practically unstoppable March towards the end of the game. Sure in souls and bloodborne you get to that level of badassery but you don't have npcs saying you're scary or stating that your strong or even the bosses acknowledging your progress. Just a cool detail that helps convey that your character too is a legendary fighter able to stand toe-to-toe with the other greats.
In DS1 you would probably become some renowned figure, if there was enough people left in a Lordran who are sane enough to to care. Same deal with DS2 and DS3 to some extent, but atleast you’re acknowledged somewhat like Friede recognizing you as the Lord of Hollows if you do that ending
I wonder if the rot sickness appearance in the Lands Between was a consequence of removing the Death Rune from the Elden Ring, so it can spread endlessly, corrupting everything and everyone.. Also, might this sealed outer god be the same as the Fire Giant followed? Looks like Radagon got a curse from him, if you read Giant's Red Braid item description... "Radagon was said to have despised his own red locks. Perhaps that was a curse of their kind.". This curse might come to pass to his offspring. IDK
The fire giants’ god is a different god, and radagon hair was a curse from the fire giants, but I’m not convinced it is as the relevant item descriptions just says it was viewed as a curse. I think it’s more the association of fire giants and red hair and bearing any likeness to them was seen as a curse by radagon.
When Melania wakes up when we get to her is she literlaly waking up form her battle with Radahn? Did she go from one godly fight right to the next (in her view)? Pretty crazy from her pov lol.
The fact General Radahn was still holding the stars back even while in a state of madness speaks volumes. Malenia is cold but the prosthetics didn't hinder her for those saying it did. Her holding the Scarlett rot at bay is a feat in it self though but In the end she went all out and Radahn didn't he continued to hold back the stars even after being infected with rot to me clearly Radahn won or would've won.
It is stated that Radahn is the mightiest Demigod. Perhaps not the most powerful, but to be called the mightiest means he is likely the best among all of them when it comes to combat. Who knows what would happen if he let the stars loose. I'd argue he would have defeated her.
For the prosthesis, it's actually an improvement most of the time. Millicent specifically says that the Valkyrie's Prothesis just feels like her arm whereas Commander Niall's prothesis makes him OP.
you’re literally forgetting that Malenia fought him fully blind, regardless of him holding the stars back, she fought him to a stalemate whilst enduring and holding back the rot as well as being blind. look at the after effects of the fight, Malenia’s state vs Radahns state, he is worse off, therefore she is correct in saying she’s never known defeat, it is clear as day that she took the W in that fight even if they don’t want to confirm it, when you’re fighting in a battle/war you fight to die, you fight with everything you’ve got.

So, I was looking to see what text pops up when you defeat Malenia to settle the debate whether she is a goddes or not and whether she's bloomed a 3rd time. One of the most interesting thing FromSoft does when you defeat a boss is change the text depending on the power of that boss. When you defeat most bosses you get something along the lines of Legend Felled, Foe Vanquished or the like. When you defeat the Elden Beast, you get God Slain, but looking back defeating a Rune Bearer bares no text at all.... I think this is something done purposely and has some meaning.

I think that, same as Millicent's father knew it should be us to kill her in order to turn in that amber aeonia, malenia knew if radahn to kill her, she would immediately turn into amber. I believe that after amber form she's guaranteed to become a rot goddess, which she didn't want to. That's why she chose to deal with radahn in manner she did. And if she blooms herself, she has two more times before it happens. So now, after malenia awakens, she's full fledged goddess. Millicent awakens with her, and, as her "daughter", being born from single god, she's empirion now. So rot worshippers establish rot supremacy - they have their own goddess and they also replace marika with scarlet valkery. That's what i believe plan was
As a boss I didn't love her or hate her, she was cool but there were cooler foes. My favourites were Rykard, the Black Knives and Godskin Apostole. But in terms of lore and meta I think she's brilliant. They pulled a bait and switch and told a great story with Malenia, without spelling out anything. This is the character they used for the marketing campaign, like the poster girl, she was everywhere. In the opening cutscene she's showed standing valiantly against a King Kong sized opponent; in the first area of the game, we learn she destroyed Godrick, the first big opponent for us. She's hailed as undefeated, unrelenting. But then we get to Caelid and the roles for her and Radahn are switched. The opponent she was standing against in the cutscene was a General defending his own land, someone who was fighting while literally holding the stars back with his magic. Malenia was the aggressor. In the fight he disarmes her but waits for her to get back up and fight face to face. What does she do? She uses a dirt bomb and completely ruins Caelid, destroying countless lives and ending the land forever. But Radahn still doesn't die, he keeps holding back the stars. So much for the Blade of Miquella being undefeated. What does Malenia do? She stays in her fortress, doesn't do anything to search for Miquella. She just lays there waiting. And then when the player meets her, something that rarely happens in these games transpires: the player character fights a legendary figure at the peak of their power and wins. Think back to Artorias, Gerhman, Midir, Gwyn, Sihn, Ludwig, Radahn himself, Lorian, Isshin, Owl. All either gone mad, heavily injured, past their prime or all three. Not Malenia: she literally becomes a God during the fight......and the Tarnished still prevails. I don't believe that's random at all. What I think they were going for with Malenia is , don't judge a book by its cover. She LOOKS like an unbeatable hero who overcame impossibile odds, but she was actually an invader and someone who failed with no excuses twice: first against Radahn, and then against the Tarnished, even after literally becoming the Goddess of her element. Her "curse" was actually her weapon, and the only reason she survived in Caelid.
She was helding the outer god within herself, rotting her from the inside. It was not a "dirt bomb", not a power, but a curse that was handicapping her just like Radahn and the stars, so they were in similar conditions. The reason she unleashed the rot over Caelid and lost her pride, was to win the fight, no matter what, in order to return to the Halightree and watch over Miquella (who was inside it when she left, trying to bloom powerful enough to sever the influence of the outer gods in the Lands Between, free his sister from the rot, and probably the world from the Great Will, which we know is an alien entity). It's stated that third time Malenia blooms, she will rise as a "true goddes", but I don't think she would have control over her divinity, that's why Millicent let herself die to the rot, as she knew her autonomy will be lost in the blooming. Just like Marika, the Greater Will and everything that let to the shattering. Back to Malenia, she made what she thought it was a necesary sacrifice for Miquella's empress, as she's his blade. Little did she know that in the meantime her brother was being kidnapped and violated by a pedophile maniac. The tragedy is inside the futility of it all, so I don't believe she's cheap or evil, she's just not as heroic as Radahn, but that's because of the dilemma she was set up into
Why do people create theory that Radahn was simply interested in defending his homeland? It is clearly stated that all demigods wanted to get a fair share of the great runes, which cause them to engage in civil war. This imply that Radahn, too, isn't a pacifist. Keep in mind that Godrick disguised himself as a female because he didn't want to get spotted by Radahn, which implies that Radahn can be quite aggressive.
I think the Scarlet Rot was brought out from Malenia, if it was around before her then Dragonlord Placudisax would have been immune to the Rot, but he’s extremely susceptible to it, unlike the Elden Beast who is immune to it
The grand cloyster has the lake of rot though and since the formless mother has power in the eternal city the same should be true for the rot outer god.
its explicitly stated in several items that the lake of rot is the result of an outer god, and the whole area has nothing to do with melania. Also the elden beast is immune to everything not just rot
I don't think she knew exactly where he is honestly, her dialogue under the haligtree said she's still waiting for him to come back. Mohg also take miquella while she was fighting radahn no? malenia doesn't even know he was kidnapped at the time

The Blue Dancer charm isn't talking about Melania. But rather the blind swordsman who trained her. He was once given his sword (Flowing Curved Sword) by a fairy and used it to seal the Rot God. Later, he trained Melania (Prosthesis Wearers Heirloom), likely because the Rot was attempting to manifest through her. Sadly, his efforts were for naught, because Melania succumbed to fear and mostly particularly pride. Choosing to embrace the Rot rather than lose a battle as a noble champion.
What do you think is the “canonical” ending of the game? I feel it’s where the tarnished gets all remembrances and completes most if not all side quests. Including getting the mark from the 3 fingers, getting the perfected needle which causes the tarnished to find the dragon lord and remove the mark and finally putting the rune of death back on the elden ring, making it whole again. And a sequel could be about the remaining gods, which I think are the scarlet rot, the god the 3 fingers follow, the serpent and whatever Fia brings back alive. Possibly whatever god the giants were also following. Because we prove at the end of the game that we have the power to defeat a god.
Oh I so hope we get an Elden Ring trilogy to fully flesh out its lore! Currently on my second playthrough to focus on all of the side quests I missed or messed up on. Can’t get enough of FromSoftware’s brilliant story telling
I think all of them can be canon tbh but I think Ranni’s is the most unique, i’d like that to be canon then maybe Miquella wakes up and finds what happened and it’d be a battle of Empyreans.
I like the theory that us defeating Malenia might be a terrible mistake on our part, basically causing her to bloom and unleash the rot within herself into the world. As Fromsoft has often made killing "Optional" bosses/characters in their games to be narratively evil/bad choices at times. So from a roleplay/story perspective, it might just be best to leave her alone. UNLESS, after defeating her and then sticking the now purified needle into the flower left behind is the way to actually cure/stop the spread of the rot in the world. Honestly, the game/lore is confusing AF at times. Like do the demi-gods actually stay dead, or will they just return to life eventually? Because they keep mentioning rebirth and explicitly state that everyone in the Lands Between can't truly die, but then nobody seems to ever actually do so in-game (from what we ever witness). So like either the lore is purposefully contradicting itself and we have to form our own personal lore/continuity, or maybe the idea is that in a future DLC (maybe post-game after we become Elden Lord) everyone is reborn and we get to do battle with certain characters again. Personally, I think that IF everyone ingame is semi-immortal and will be reborn (so long as you don't choose like Frenzied Flame, DungEater, or Death as the endings) then this whole questline with Millicent and Malenia might have been intended to like have you kill her, purify her flower/remains, and then when she is eventually reborn she'll be no longer afflicted by the Scarlet Rot. Again, I dunno. Hard to sort this all out and we gotta probably wait a few more months or a year to see any DLC or additional content updates to add more (hopefully).
The reason people don’t experience ‘death’ is because when they die their soul returns to the erdtree, they still ‘die’ as in soul leaves their physical body, but their soul remains intact due to Maliketh and Marika sealing destined death away in a sword, and then hiding the sword within Malikeths body. This is why even after we kill Margit the fell or Morgot we hear them talk to us from the heavens, despite having been killed by us. Also think of Praetor Rykkard “a serpent never dies” because due to destined death being sealed away stuff doesn’t ‘die’ the way it does in our world, everything returns to the roots of the erdtree. When we kill boses, we are technically ‘killing’ them. we separate their physical forms from their souls, the same way ranni separated her soul from her physical form too, ranni took a fragment from the rune of death (stolen from maliketh before he hides it in a sword) and made weapons with the fragment that were capable of killing Goldwyn the Golden, this was the first recorded death of a Demi god so we know that in the lore Gods and Demi gods are killable. it’s just most of these bosses are champions to the point where only the chosen tarnished is able to bring death to them

You said the biggest battle of the shattering was the one fought in Caelid but I thought the biggest one was the one on mount Gelmir, or at least I remember reading it on some items.
Y’all wonder if the twins were born from pacts from other outer gods? Like the omen twins were born from a primal place and then these twins were born from rot and then an outer god we have not encountered, also defeating Rhadon would mean that he would not have control of the stars anymore potentially helping Ranni’s plan

So, we kill Malenia after she has bloomed twice. But the description says that if she had bloomed a third time, she would have become a true God. Makes me wonder what she would even look like. I mean, she gained wings after the second bloom...
Anyone can tell me who turned into a scarlet flower in a room next to the Grace before Malenia's bossfight? I only did Milicent quest halfway (giving away the unalloyed needle)
I believe that Malenia bloomed for the third time during our fight with her. There is an Aoenia Blossom next the the grace site before the boss room and it has some travelling clothes next to it. Now it is mentioned somewhere she has bloomed twice before. I'm guessing that was the site of her first blooming to become a valkyrie and the second was Radhan so this is the third time so she became a goddess. I think it was Gowry who said it or it was the rotted wing insigna that mentions the amount of blooms one needs. (So many items). And it's not one of Millicents sisters as we fight all 4 of them should we help Millicent.
You are right. That is what I concluded as well. An item in game says she needs to bloom theice to attain godhood and that she has bloomed twice prior, with the second being the blooming of the scarlet aeonia in caelid. Thats why in the game in her 2nd phase she gains the official title 'Malenia, goddess of rot'. I think in our battle she unleashes the scarlet aeonia as a nuke strategy like she did versus Radahn and it allows her to ascend.
(theory)
I hope that clarifies it better, I'll be sure to better clarify these vague stuff in future videos.
Also, apologies for the slight popping in the audio, I couldn't figure out what was causing it even after re-recording. Will do better next video.

@@leonskennedy9463 for real though, lorewise the tarnished should be able to keep up with the both of them in their prime.

Malenia - rot god
Moghwyn - formless mother
Ranni - moon (but this is more Ranni’s choice)
Miquella - Eclipse(?) unsure about this one
Morgott - greater will (his choice)
Rhykard - serpent (his choice)
Seems like a free for all of outer gods trying to get champions.
That is both terrifying and yet a fascinating concept but makes sence.

Two important details to add:
1) When Radahn seized the Stars he sealed the fate of many people, principally Caria, Ranni and Miquella. While less emphasized in lore compared to the former two Miquella’s Haligtree is described as needing an Eclipse to grow which at least occurred before The Shattering until it grew to the size of a tree. Any further growth became impossible due to Radahn and thus forced Malenia and her Cleanrot Knights to clash in Caelid if Miquella’s plan was to succeed
2) Mohg seemingly kidnapped Miquella sometime between Malenia going off to fight Radahn and getting carried back to Elphael by Finlay. Since she was in a coma this whole time she has no knowledge of Mohg’s plot nor his intention to raise Miquella to “true godhood”
but she said "as i awaited his return" implying she know that miquella has been stolen, did she know that he was stolen by mohg, idk, up for debate i think

@@masteroogwaywaschilled4649 thats not true at all. This is a stupid take
Maybe when an empyrean is born, their very being is linked to an outer god, that's why the two fingers beings get assigned to an empyrean, so they can hinder that link to outer gods other than the Greater Will, that's why Ranni makes sure to kill her assigned two fingers and get rid of her body, so that she can get create a new order without all who came before.

@@eldensouls9847 Yeah, it could be another false sister or something similar to how Millicent bloomed. However, given "Remembrance of Rot Goddess" my interpretation is that she became the goddess to attempt to defeat you. A lot of the other remembrance descriptions refer to past events up way before you meet them - not necessarily their state during or after their defeat. A counterpoint could be when looking at the word "true goddess" in the Aeonia incantation description - "With the third bloom, she will become a true goddess." Perhaps her 2nd phase wasn't the true goddess but a fake or temporary goddess, but FS usually would write things like "False King Demon Soul"

Malenia and Radahn are so incredible :
-both training (one to gain strength and master gravity magic while the other training so she would never bow before the scarlet rot within her, studying the blade and refusing to use her power)
-both two of the most admired demigods (The cleanrot knights following Malenia even if it means succumb to the rot while Radahn's knights organising the Radahn's festival, determined to give Radahn a death fitting his warrior self)
-Both bullying Godrick
I do like to imagine children arguing about wich one of these two they would serve (Radahn maybe suffering from his scarry and threatening appearence and Malenia forced to curse her companions)
Radagon's genes are truly something...
Meanwhile Ranni 🤦🏼♂️😂

That's what i believe plan was
i think malenia's rot when it blooms definitely is beautiful
Now we make DLC Boss Born by Defeat her.

Just awesome video man, with a great gut punch realization at the closing line
The tragedy is inside the futility of it all, so I don't believe she's cheap or evil, she's just not as heroic as Radahn, but that's because of the dilemma she was set up into
Cope.

My story can be summarized in a few words: I am Malenia, Blade of Miquella.

When we kill boses, we are technically ‘killing’ them. we separate their physical forms from their souls, the same way ranni separated her soul from her physical form too,
ranni took a fragment from the rune of death (stolen from maliketh before he hides it in a sword) and made weapons with the fragment that were capable of killing Goldwyn the Golden, this was the first recorded death of a Demi god so we know that in the lore Gods and Demi gods are killable. it’s just most of these bosses are champions to the point where only the chosen tarnished is able to bring death to them
Yeah but what if I'm a follower of the rot and want her to achieve her potential like gowery
I haven't watched the video yet. I just want to say Thank you for the detailed spoiler warning at the beginning of the video. I had beaten Malenia, but hadn't completed the game. Anyone can tell me who turned into a scarlet flower in a room next to the Grace before Malenia's bossfight? I only did Milicent quest halfway (giving away the unalloyed needle)
It's either Malenias flower from caelid or one of Millicent's sister(and it's not Malenias second bloom as some idiots believe)
One. I can’t believe she’s related to Starscourge Radahn. And second, I didn’t know she was part of the Golden order. That’s insane!
I think in our battle she unleashes the scarlet aeonia as a nuke strategy like she did versus Radahn and it allows her to ascend.
wonderful video and narration.. i like it
