Really helps me tune out the hustle and bustle of working in a restaurant, I was able to listen to the whole chapter while prepping salads for customers. I work long 12 hour shifts and sometimes it is hard to sit down and read my big book. Thank you for putting this together.

Off to my meeting now this was a great listen to meditate on before hand.

At some of these we balked, we thought we could find an easier, and softer way, but we could not. I tried to drink wine instead of whiskey I tried to drink beer instead of tequila and the result was nil until we let go absolutely. Just like absolute vodka it's absolute determination to not drink it. This chapter is one of the most important one's to me.

I would go further saying this program is for those who do it. I wanted it for years but wanting it wasn’t enough.

Get a sponsor that has recovered...and work the steps with their guidance Let God or your higher power / your definition be in the driver seat...do a moral inventory.. step four....and keep working the steps going with your sponsor and soon you can start helping ithers, very important!! All the best and let your higher power make and guide your decisions! God bless!!

I love and cherish the Big Book, it has saved me from despair and relapse and nourished my soul. The part about some who don't heaö because they are dishonest or mentally ill is limited, doesn't feel fair in all cases, although I know B&B were not perfect and did not know everything. it was also easier to heal at that time, the bodies were stronger, we had less poisons and more natural stressors. An important reason can be that someone didn't get the professional help and treatment they needed.

Rarely [ have we seen ] a person fail . " Who has thoughroughly followed our path " . " Those who do not recover are people who cannot or will not completely give themselves to this simple program " . " There are such unfortunates " . [ They are not at fault ] . " They seem to have been born that way "

@@Tommy88- my expectations were that my recovery would be like others…”they had this happen in this time”….but reality is everyone’s recovery is their own. So letting go of what you think should happen, what it should look like etc….has to be let go of.

AA: those who do not recover are those who are incapable of being honest with themselves. also AA: the universe is ruled by an invisible sky monster who can solve your problems.
