Don't forget to 'TURN ON NOTIFICATIONS' - simply go to options and select 'all'. You'll only receive notifications when I post a new UA-cam video.

It’s wild just how simple and effectively you explained this process compared to the previous 10 videos I watched that tried to do the same thing. Many thanks!

Honestly one of the most useful "how-to's" for these. There's a ton on "how to use" but i can't use it if I can't balance it. Great, simple video!

This truly helped me calibrate my stabilizer ia lot quicker than most tutorials I’ve been watching! Thank you!

    Hi Josh!
I started out with your full-length tutorial to get my tiny Sony a6300 stabilized. Took me quite some time to get to grips with that! At the end I found out, that my stabilizer was too heavy (even with the post fulluy retracted and seemingly minimal number - 2 -o f the weights). Turned out to be still too heavy for my camera!
Therefore, I figured, that it makes much more sense to start with horizontal equilibrium point and once I am sure that my glidecam can stay horizontal together with the camera, extend the post (or add weight) so that I achieve 2,5-3 second drop time. Without that, I would not have discovered that my glidecam is too heavy for my camera!

    Great video!
One question, how do you know how many weights do you need to use?

Yes, you are a GREEK GOD of film wisdom. What glidecam are you using? It looks very light. I recently bought one and was struck with horror at how heavy it is, knowing that it will lead to muscle fatigue and backache. I will have to send it back; now I need a new one, so I'm hoping that the one you're using is light and affordable? Do you have an Amazon link? Thanks :)

Hi Josh. Got a flycam hd3000 recently for my sony pxw-x70 video camera, The overall weight of he camera with the battery and the sennheiser ew100g3 wireless receier is about 1,8 kg. I have balanced the stabilizer, and the drop-time test is around 2.8 sec. However, when I move around, the system tends to sway a lot, even though after balancing and micro-adjustments, the stabilizer is absolutely stable when I move it to test the stability. Where am I wrong??
Due to this, I am still not very confident in taking this out on a professional venture
    Please help

Thank you for this compact video! Can you help me out? That would be sooo nice!
I have bought a cheap steadycam. I balanced them as you described. But when I turn the vertical bar 90 degrees, the camera tilts! And when I shake the steadycam, it always turns to the side.
So I think it's broken. Do you agree with me? Or did I do something wrong?

    • @MomentumProductions1992
      @MomentumProductions1992  6 років тому

This is a known issue. This is because the gimbal is not properly aligned. You will need to get it replaced or get a refund. You can do it yourself, but you have to be handy :)

  • @annaschmid6870

I feel like an idiot because I've been watching videos for weeks and tried doing the same thing but my camera is still... it can't keep the horizon line. I've also watched the other video you made and it helped a bit, when I go back and forth it's basically okay but if I move my hand left or right it freaking swings and it loses the horizontal lines. Is it still not well balanced or is it the drop thing? I did it with you on the video and it seemed almost identical timing to me... Am I incapable of doing it or it might be the stabilizer that's just a cheap sh*t?
thanks for whoever can answer me :)

Same problem for me :( it swings a lot and I have a cheap glidecam, for 50Euro. I wan to blame the stabilizer but I think that the problem is with me :DD

dont feel bad. you have to add weight to your camera if its small. keep practicing its about muscle memory you will become more aware of how your gimbal feels when its balanced
. i love the trial and error of balancing gimbals. i want to get my hands on a cheap one just to see if i can balance it
