Remember to drink responsibly(ish) and not be that guy...
So where did we miss guys? Obey the rule: only places that make the beer on site!
Brooklyn Brewery
The Craft Beer Channel
Definitely Grimm was a major miss and Interboro around the corner
We too discovered how far Finback is but well worth the trip. Think they’ve now opened another taproom closer to town
@@dougphillips7122 Yeah Grimm was an error to miss. We hadn't had enough of their beers at that point but did later on and loved them.
LIC Beer Project.... 😳😍😍 It's soooo good. Oh, and Grimm. 😍😍
I'd say
1 - Fifth Hammer
2 - Five Boroughs
3 - Brooklyn Kura for Sake
4 - Grimm
5 - Interboro
6 - Mikkeller
8 - Brooklyn
9 - Bronx Brewery
10 - LIC Beer
Plenty to come back for.
Cheers fellas...
I could watch an hour long version of this
Haha well there was A LOT on the cutting room floor. Maybe we should do an unedited version.
@@TheCraftBeerChannel yeah..the Directors cut special edition..
Don’t sleep on transmitter. Glad you went but got to give them respect. I work for a canning company and work with almost all these breweries. Great beer coming out of New York. Love it.
We love their beer, just that spot was not what we were expecting or looking for.
Left Stockholm for my first NYC visit in june last year. Besides the usual tourist traps me and my friend also decided to visit Other Half brewing. Lively place with friendly people and tasty beers. Definitely worth a visit. Then we did a wobbly hike all the way through Brooklyn, over the bridge and ended up in a bar again in lower Manhattan :)
Some awesome bars over on Manhattan.
“For me it’s deeply unpleasant” 😂😂😂 so jealous of this trip chaps, epic fun. Cheers for the laughs and cheers for sharing 🍻
Great video. Finback and Evil Twin are in Queens though in Ridgewood and Glendale respectively. Well done.
Failed to mention that Evil Twin, and Finback are both in the best Boro, which of course is Queens. Speaking of, missed out on Mikkeller, 5th Hammer, Singlecut, and as everyone's saying Grimm back in BK. Also, Finback and Evil Twin are pretty easy to get back and forth to if you know the area.
Very informative video.....going to do some brewery tours when we visit from the UK next year...looks amazing!!!
I must to admit that I was a bit tired with the videos because my personal favorite kind of video is bar tours (like the london and check R kind of video which we saw a couple months ago)... and taprooms like this one congratulations! I like the channel but I hope you guys continue with this kind of videos because it is important to see more taproom and bars plus if you are not traveling it helps a lot! cheers!!!
Oh for sure we love making these but to only.make them we would have to travel A LOT! Plenty more to come though, promise.
great! ! can belive that you actually respond me Jonny...Long life Craft Beer Channel Cheers from Santiago de Chile Sud America we follow you!@@TheCraftBeerChannel
@@mirthanuneztrautmann4396 well thanks for watching and sticking with us!
If y’all consider coming to Texas go to SanAntonio , Dallas and Houston such awesome breweries in the Lone Star state ,
Jonny has been and had fun, but it wasn't a beer trip. We'll definitely be back.
I'm impressed. A 22.8 mile walking circuit. You got your steps in that day!!
Evil Twin was good, but the breweries we always hit include LIC and Grimm. And Interboro.. And Finback..There's too much good stuff up there, but it's a really good excuse to visit family, lol.
Hi guys, I watched your video a couple of weeks ago and loved the look of the places you visited. It was also great to read the other recommendations in the comments. As I’d got a few days holiday to take, I booked a fright from the UK to NY for the following Monday. Here are the places I visited and my thoughts.
Thanks guys, and keep up the good work.
LIC Beer - Fantastic, especially their Amorphous Vienna Lager. Also recommended a few other breweries, which is a nice thing to do.
Fifth Hammer - Loved the building, atmosphere and lovely beers.
Other Half Brewery - I’d been warned that the beers might be a bit too fruity for me but advised still to go and check it out. The barmaid’s recommendations were lovely. Even at 3pm on a Tuesday it was packed and the had the live football (soccer) on TV. Barmaid even challenged me with a couple of beers outside of my normal tastes. Really nice place to hang out.
Threes - Nice beer but seemed quite average. Oh, but Iranian restaurant over the road, Insa, is superb.
Strong Rope Brewery - Other Half recommended this place. Really good beer and met some nice people. Top place.
Evil Twin - FRUIT!!! Nice building but beers were way too fruity, more like Juices. Barman didn’t seem too knowledgeable or ask anyone else serving for advice on beers.
Kings County Brewers Collective - Barmaid knew her beers. Nice recommendation and pushed me to try their Stout which was really nice. Nice and fun place to visit.
Not a Tap Room but someone recommended Roberta's for Pizza (1 stop down on the L towards my next Tap Rooms). Fantastic pizza and really nice selection of beers. This place was packed and the Märzen was superb. Wish I’d have noted the brand.
Grimm - Decor seemed a bit too sterile for a Tap Room, but worth a visit if you’re near. Pleasant staff and tasty beer.
Interboro - Had a very hip but old school feel. Seems to be ran to the moto “Lets brew some beer man!”. Barman knew his stuff and everyone in there was having a great time. Nice atmosphere.
So top recommendations....
LIC
Fifth Hamme
Other Half
Kings County Brewers Collective
Strong Rope Brewery
Thanks for your thoughts! We need to get to Fifth Hammer it seems!
Guys, I hope you’re able to come to Mexico one day. Our craft beer market is blooming, but we bring our A game on mezcal
Aaahhhhh, gaggin for a trip such as 👌🏻🍻😎
Awesome video guys. Would love to see some longer unedited versions of the video!! Could listen to this for ages
A great insight to some fabulous brewery taprooms 👍
grandioso video. Congratulations CBC
I went to New York last November (possibly just after you visited in this vid?) and Other Half blew me away. Had one of their IPA’s at IndyMan that was stunning, and the insane range of beers they had on at the taproom, including a stout with (if I remember right) Ethiopian coffee was just unbelievable. Grimm was cool too, gutted I missed out on Evil Twin!
Would also highly recommend Carmine Street bar and bottle shop to anyone who hasn’t gone there. Superb.
Stout chaser! This could be a new thing! :)
It WILL BE.
Sounding more and more damaged towards the end!! Great video, made me want to go back to NYC
haha yeah it was a heavy one.
taprooms tours my favorite
Lol at saying Other Half is in a sketchy area. Maybe if you walk from there into certain parts of Red Hook, but it's right by all kinds of nice areas of Carrol Gardens and Gowanus.
Best Pizza! Dreams do come true.
Best Pizza was so gooood when we visited, BUT.... it wasn't the best in NYC for me
I live a short 10min walk from the Other Half and wouldn't say that part of town is sketchy. Still very industrial, but very safe.
Our apologies! You would know!
As always lads love ya work keep on keeping on!
Cheers!
its pretty much a given here in NYC that the two top breweries are OH and Singlecut. Second tier you have places like Threes, Big Alice, Rockaway, Finback, LIC Interboro, KCBC etc...
Interesting! We wouldn't pick either of those two as our top breweries but enjoyed beers from both.
Wish I had known you guys were in town! Woulda loved to have tagged along 😭
Gotta to ping me next time you're in town blokes! Echo Terry about GRIMM, Interboro and Fifth Hammer, and LIC Beer Project, Randolph (very new), Folksbier, and the famous Brooklyn on top.
Not my old man's Brooklyn! Glad you found Best.
Good news guys, once Brooklyn opens up again Finback has their second location a 5 min walk away from Threes.
Singlecut and Grimm!
Крутой поход по пабам!
That was dumb to walk to finback in queens. Better now they are in Brooklyn. Great beers
Awesome
Man I need to hit up other half one day!
So what did the huskies drink?
Evil twin has some of the best beer named 😂
Brilliant, but you do post your episodes at very strange times. Now i just have to go back to NYC.
You guys should do a L.I. New York video (but wait until HopWins brewery opens in Jan 2020)
Just looked you guys up. WIshing you the best. I'm out in Glen Head (North Shore), but I spent my entire 20's and early 30's in Williamsburg, so I've been following the craft scene for a long time. Hope to make it out to you guys in the future. Again, all the best!
👑
Will you be coming back to NYC when travel is permitted?
100% as soon as we can!
The Keg and Lantern is Greenpoint. Not northern Williamsburg
I miss NY 😔
God we do too whenever we leave. Such an amazing city, and now one of the best in the world for beer.
I've had one, and only one, beer by Evil Twin that really blew me away out of probably 20 plus: the Imperial Biscotti Chili Hazelnut Break. All the rest have been forgettable at best.
"The beer was good, but the place was weird."
Amen to that! Can't drink even good beer in an uncomfortable setting. Same reason why I dislike Brus in Copenhagen at late hours. Too much damn noise.
So weird, I (Jonny) was LITERALLY SAT in BRUS when you sent this. It had a very nice vibe at that time but I can imagine when it's busy it's loud
I would have hit up Grimm, even though their beers can be hit or miss.
For sure you guys missed the best one: Grimm! Look for it next time. Cheers, mate!
Great videos, but as a home-brewer, beer drinker and a crisp fanatic, Christmas is coming, how about pairing beer with Christmas based crisps!
We have done it for some live shows but sounds like we need to do a proper one this year!
Coney Island Brewery, they just opened their expanded taproom....
whatt no mikkeller !! you guys missed out ! maybe next time. cheers!
What about Grimm and interboro, fifth hammer
Fifth Hammer was definitely one we were gutted to miss and hope to head there one day. We didn't know enough about the brewery or beer to put it in a vid yet though. Same with Grimm, and Interboro we have had some good beer but also some shockers so stuck to the ones we knew were killer.
@@TheCraftBeerChannelfair play. I love your channel. My first time time to New York was over two years ago. At that point I never heard of Other half or Grimm or Interboro. I like your vids I'm heading to New
york and other places next year so love that you can tell when to go for a good pint
Transmitter!
i hope this means you guys were in town for a Hudson valley interview
Not this time - we were actually headed out West of NYC. But we will hit up NY state soon for sure.
It is the Empire Brewing Company easily because of their Cream Ale.
come on, you don't love pastry stouts?!?! NYC massive stouts are world famous! Other Half and Evil Twin make some of the best
Dont get us wrong, we love big flavoured stouts but they have to be balanced, nuanced and complex - like the one we had at Finback later in the vid. The Evil Twin one was closer to ice cream syrup than stout.
Next time: visit SingleCut beersmith
Best Beer Bar? Rudys in Hell's Kitchen! Get the Rudy's Blonde for $3 and each drink you buy you get a free Hot Dog!!
Rudy's is a great dive bar, but I wouldn't call it a beer bar.
man its going to take atleast a month....
We did it in one night! But we did miss 3 or 4 great places. Call it two busy nights.
That would be NYC,New York State has more awesome breweries outside of the city !!!
I misread: _are these New York's best brewery tampons?_
VERY different video, that one.
Why anyone would drink an IPA is beyond me.
all my views are dead fuckers
Really you guys skip the best brewery in New York??????? Sixpoint Brewing!!!!! Very disappointing video
Haha, best is very subjective! Sixpoint do make some very tasty beer but we stand by our choices.
SMH
@@Charles_in Does Sixpoint have a tap room yet?
I would not call them the best brewery in New York, especially when most of their beer is brewed in Tennessee or Pennsylvania.
