In case you are not aware of these products, Daniel Smith makes a watercolor ground that is clear. You could use it to strengthen your paper and still be able to see the pattern underneath if you choose to. The company also makes watercolor ground in black and metallic gold (oooh, yummy!). I think you would enjoy using them! I have no connection to the company, but love their products.
Helen, this really inspired me. I feel as though I had forgotten how to enjoy junk journaling over the past year, and now I can launch myself back into it again. 🤗💕xx
Love how you've brought together lots of different materials with these techniques, Helen! Thanks for being part of this collab! (p.s. you have no idea how many times I also said July instead of January when filming my video lol)
Happy New Year 🎊🎉🎈🎶🎆🎇🎈 Helen 🌹 hope you and your family had a wonderful holiday also so looking forward to seeing your videos in the new year as I enjoyed watching this one too stay safe and be careful 🙏✍️🖌️🎨💌🌹 and enjoy your week ahead too 👍🦄☺️
I like how you tied the two pages together, especially the less obvious element of the black outline. And you practiced what you preached in terms of the joy in the ordinary of leaves! 🍂🍃I did a slow stitch challenge recently and I found that I really noticed leaves and their patterns and beauty when I went for a walk.
Happy New Year Helen. Thank you for sharing your journal page. I didn’t realize I could use gesso with watercolors. I have used water colors in my journal before. And one occasion it bled through to a photograph I had on the back of the page. I damage the photo but did create a very nice and unusual affect. Since it’s a junk journal I think it’s OK. LOL However, from now on I will gesso.
Lovely pages, and great little pocket! That quote is very wise! Really enjoying the ink on the paint, I’ve never done that, I’ll be trying it out! Thanks Helen!
Beautiful pages...LOVE the watercoloring & leaves!! 💚🌿💙 So needed this calming & peaceful inspiration...thank you!! ❤🤗
Thank you so much Debbie 🥰💕✨
