this made MTV.. I mean I loved to see the top of the hour when this would come on and they would announce some of the videos coming up on that hour.. it was so much fun back in the 80s.. I miss it so much.. I miss my dad too:((
I thought of this while they launched on Interstellar! What a MOVIE! And what can I say? Call it 80s programming! So simple and profound, as icons usually are, for better or worse! 😀
The Neil Armstrong audio was a part of it in the very beginning, but Mr Armstrong complained, and they respectfully took the audio off... But, it was originally on there...
Hey, Rocky Mountain Mike, They didn't "embellish" anything here. The Neil Armstrong audio was originally intended t be a part of it, but they didn't get is permission and they left it out. 10 years later in '91, when MTV was celebrating their 10th anniversary, the channel temporarily used this "Top Of The Hour" animation again and it absolutely included the Armstrong narration. ua-cam.com/video/Yk0J78-xqCs/v-deo.html
