I've never seen footage of a whale shark in such shallow water , that was excellent . I once swam with a whale shark , it let me hold its tail fin and be swept side to side as it moved so gracefully , a wonderful experience , no stress to the shark , in fact it came back over and over for an hour or so .
@@AKbaby89 It's absolutely true . North eastern Australia , 100 nautical miles offshore in mile deep water . We were out there chasing tuna , stopped for lunch on a quiet day , felt the boat move a bit ( flat calm day ) went out on deck and saw the shark with a bit of anti fouling paint on its nose where it had a scratch . Myself and another guy grabbed our flippers and masks and had the time of our lives for an hour or so . Years ago now but a lifetime memory .
This is soooo beautiful. I remember my experience snorkeling with whalesharks. It was terrifying at first being in open water, with such huge creatures. I clung to the boat...then gradually got the nerve to just float on the surface, looking down on them. One swam really close to me, but we were not allowed to touch them. So majestic.
I absolutely adore ur concern love and words for our ocean and its beautiful (& in danger, daily ) life forms !! Thank u for always sharing nd im glad u got to see him up close!
5:05 Indeed, the pattern is its "fingerprint". I've submitted all my whaleshark and Manta footage to the Whaleshark / Manta Research teams in the Maldives. They keep a catalogue of all individuals based off markings and sighting locations through the years. If you submit footage of an undocumented individual, you get to name it! But equally cool is getting a reply from them telling you the name of the whaleshark/Manta you've spotted and how old they are.
I watch and enjoy your videos all the time. You do great photography, editing and narration. Great choice and use of music, too, although slightly lower volume maybe next time, so your voice can be clearly heard throughout. Your Malibu videos are wonderful but I'm glad you were able to visit the Sea of Cortez and share its magic with us.
Jealous! I have been in love with the Oceans and Seas since I was little and I have not yet found a way to be able to explore them 'in person'. What beautiful film you share and I am so thankful you are kind enough to make jaw dropping videos for us to watch. Thank you again!
Incredible shots! This was one of your coolest videos! I loved when the water looked so glassy with the huge whale shark in it! Keep up the amazing work!
so crazy that the whale sharks come into that shallow of water, I always imagined them as deep sea fish - ps, I would have cried too, that is such amazing beauty right there in front you. What a privilege...
All your videos have been so educational and I love how quiet and simple and calming your voice is when you do your videos you do not over sensationalize. Now that I’ve been watching your videos any of the sensational ones that pop up on my notifications I will not even bother watching because we know they’re just trying to fear monger
You sir are very lucky to be able to see these glorious animals. Now I sometimes think it is OK to catch a marlin, but never ever to kill that marlin. Take photos sure, but remove the hook, swim it until it is ready to go, then with as big a smile as you can muster watch your marlin swim back into the ocean. Believe me the pride you feel stays with you for ever. Sir I am so proud of you to be able to take such stunning photos of this young whale shark, and to swim beside it, my mind just can’t comprehend how beautiful they are. All I can say to you is how happy and blessed you must feel. There is a comment from an awesome person in your comment section who says “ why not stop fishing for one year” while this is a great idea, the rich people would collapse from shock. Well done young man you are awesome. Cheers and stay healthy and COVID free free.
Wow great video. Seeing a Marlin from above is a rare and special treat. Thank you! Hearing your love and passion for the sea is refreshing and I'm jealous. I've been to many oceans diving and I wish I could play back all my experiences through my eyes to a screen like you share your videos. The ocean and especially immersed in her is a experience everyone should experience. Its is literally another world. Im an old guy now and have been underwater since I was 11, I'm still waiting for gills to grow. Just jump in and look around, she is a treasure.
Absolutely captivating! The clear beautiful water made you your footage look even more magnificent. Many of us are vicariously living our dreams through your eyes. And I thank you so very much for sharing the educational value as well as these fantastic creatures. I love them all. Sharks have always been so fascinating to me. Even after jaws 🤗 Getting in the water was difficult for some time. I began reading to learn as much as possible. My dream was to be a marine biologist. I became a nurse instead. I found so much joy in alk my years with patients. When shark week began 33yrs ago I was glued to the tv. Like a sponge and haven't missed 1 year since then. One can only imagine what you were feeling during this dive. Your vouce truly expresses your passion and excitement. Hiw wonderful. As always, we patiently wait for your next installment 🦈🦈🦈 Thank you and take care
I just wanted to reach out to you and say that you are a wonderful caring human being. I pray you have more beautiful and exciting journeys. With that said, you educate all of us with these adventures. Please keep up the great work. I have so much respect for you.
I don't know how I came across your channel, but I'm so thankful for it. I adore your videos. They're far better than any wildlife documentary I've seen
You show the most amazing footage of ocean dwelling creatures. I have never seen this perspective and done so masterfully. You work is on another level.
OMG thank you this footage on this video melted my heart, your true words and the love you have keeps me addicted to your channel thank you much love from the UK 🇬🇧 ❤
I've never seen a live marlin swimming in the water. I've only seen them when someone takes a picture after killing one & are proudly showing its dead body. They are breathtaking! Wow wow
Such an Amazing Channel 👍 thank you so much for sharing these Breathe Taking views of the Marine ICONIC Animals in Their Natural Habitat such epic videos grateful to you for sharing this and the other Glorious Sights you share Keep Up the Great Work
It was spectacular to see this whale shark up close..just amazing footage. I work in a loud bourbon bar and look forward to my tranquil video's of yours daily...
Absolutely stunning! Thank you for filming them and sharing this with us. I'm curious how deep was the water where the whale shark was swimming? It looks so relatively shallow.
love the camera work and flying! truly amazing! if you could maybe turn down the volume of the music it's a little unnecessary given the phenomenal images and your narration. best, Eli
Nice video Carlos, thanks for sharing. I never dived with whale sharks and it's a dive I would like to do. My daughter have snorkled with whale sharks in the Phillipines. At the start of your video shows Land's End at Los Cabos, where the Sea of Cortez links with the Pacific Ocean. Some years ago I had the opportunity to dive there and feel the rapid change of underwater currents when I went around the corner of Land's End from the Sea to the Ocean.
What an incredible video! I had never heard of a whale shark until seeing this video and I'm in awe of its size and beauty. I love watching this channel because I am a shark fanatic but also because I learn something new with each upload💜
Whale sharks!! Oh you are so lucky. They are the one reason I would willingly dive into the ocean. To swim alongside one of these magnificent beings, seeing their markings up close, gaining a visceral awareness of their size...
The 1st thing I though was "is that marlin sick...swimming so close to the surface?" Till I seen the second one. Is it common to see them on the surface...as they must be pelagic. AND do whale sharks grow out of the placement of their spots? Because this one has THEE most beautiful head design ever...kind of different...but I've not seen a lot of juveniles.
Probably a remora , aka suckerfish . From Wikipedia - Smaller remoras also fasten onto fish such as tuna and swordfish, and some small remoras travel in the mouths or gills of large manta rays, ocean sunfish, swordfish and sailfish.
Where can I sign up to go on a trip with ya?!?! The footage you share with us is ALWAYS PHENOMENAL!! I'd LOVE to see all these AMAZING creatures in their natural habitat! Keep up the GREAT work good sir! Much respect and support from Yuma, AZ. 👍👍
The colors, the lighting & pattern of the whale shark, along with the view of a marlin (not struggling with a fisherman) just leave me in awe!!!
Right!
I've never seen footage of a whale shark in such shallow water , that was excellent . Seriously?! Honestly even if you're lying im gonna choose to believe this happened😂

The ending of this gave me goosebumps. You're hitting a whole new level of conservation content, and it's one of my favorite places to spend time.

Another great video! Keep educating us all. If we lose our oceans, we are done. As a diver I see first hand the negative impacts on sea life.
Just mesmerized by the beautiful footage. You are truly blessed to experience such a rare sight...

The videos from TheMalibuArtist are a band-aid for the soul 😍
I just adore whale sharks. Although I live by the sea, we don’t get anything like that as it’s a mega busy port 😢
Seeing the footage of the whale shark made me cry too, i can't imagine how humbling it must've been to be right there. What a beautiful creature❤❤
wonderful thank you for letting me watch this in England sat on my sofa keep safe

I am genuinely happy you got to see a whale shark.
Keep making these amazing videos!
Thanks! Will do!
Wow this was amazing footage, thank you
Were the things floating at 5:20 the same type of parasites shown earlier on the Marlin?
The 1st thing I though was "is that marlin sick...swimming so close to the surface?" Till I seen the second one. Is it common to see them on the surface...as they must be pelagic. AND do whale sharks grow out of the placement of their spots? Because this one has THEE most beautiful head design ever...kind of different...but I've not seen a lot of juveniles.

A beautiful person introducing us to beautiful creatures. 😍👍🏽
You are so kind
Beautiful Sharks, I hope to one day see one in person myself.
This is beautiful!!
Superb comments about plastic & protecting wildlife👍
Thank you so much for this incredible video
Wow! Is that the sea bottom?? I never realized they ever went so shallow😳! Such beauty
Love all ur vids!!
Beautiful 💙 video.
This is so beautiful!!! 😢thank you❤️
On these drones; do they have filters to get rid of the glare to see down in the sea?
Every drone I fly is equipped with the best filters in the business. Some glares are impossible to avoid. That's just how it is.
At 2:00 is that a fish going in the marlin's gill?
Probably a remora , aka suckerfish . From Wikipedia - Smaller remoras also fasten onto fish such as tuna and swordfish, and some small remoras travel in the mouths or gills of large manta rays, ocean sunfish, swordfish and sailfish.

Good work!
Thanks for this.
Does anyone know where these sharks go when they leave the Sea of Cortez? I’ve read that they are also found in the Caribbean.
It reminds me of a living aboriginal painting with those markings 🤙🇦🇺
