If there isn’t there really should be a website that you can scan the barcode on a product and it says if it is pregnancy safe. Thats a good app idea.
If that isn't a thing yet, you ought to make it a thing, and get on cashing in on that great idea! 🤑

You can actually use the think dirty app. Nothing above a 3 for normal use. Not sure for pregnancy. The ewg has an app as well.
there is a website called 15 minute beauty that is pretty helpful. you can't scan the barcode but she lists a lot of products and deems them safe or not safe for pregnancy www.15minutebeauty.com/pregnancy-skin-care-guide. it is probably a little overboard but she tells you what she deems is unsafe during pregnancy and so you can decide for yourself if you want to continue using it

I think we've all reached the "declutter/organize phase" of quarantine. We've been picking one area of our house each weekend to focus on.
Those Drunk Elephant Protini containers can be reused when finished. I refill mine with the CeraVe cream in the tub so I don’t have to dig it out with my fingers.
How? I want to do this so badly!
@@julia.md2b707 just unscrew the green portion from the white cup, then just remove the lid. Fill with whatever you want and screw it back together. I’ve refilled it a few times.

Dang. I still LOVE “what’s in my bags” videos! I would love to see what’s in YOUR bag! But this is great too. Basically a favs & trash tour in one! My skin got drier & itchier with each baby (I had 3 in 26 mo! 😯) and THE BEST combo, even over the prescription creams, was the Jergens wet skin with that Aveeno one your mom recs. Saved me.
If I have a moisturizer that doesn’t agree with my face...ie too oily, causes milia, I use it on my neck or hands!

One place I never thought about decluttering till pregnant was my spice cabinet. everything was so old.

I just cleaned out my makeup and skin care too. It always feels so good to organize for the new year.

I'm 10+1 today and I just spoke to my RE today and she said salicylic acid at 2% or less was fine (also topically, you don't absorb as much!). But your declutter has now given me a list of things I really want to try!

You should look into what YOUR skin specifically needs. Like what concentrated ingredients (ex: retinol, vitamin c, niacinamide, etc.) and then look into nice brands that have those targeted ingredients. it makes your skin routine much smaller and also actually improves your skin! In my opinion, most skin care brands are just full of useless "fluff" and then the price skyrockets. Of course, this is all just a thought! if you enjoy what you use, then do you girl! I get sent products so it's not so much that I'm just wildly buying everything that comes out.
Obviously, listen to your doctor , but Caroline hirons is a great resource . A lot of the “unsafe” ingredients are perfectly fine.

Being pregnant right now, I literally only use a day time spf/moisturizer, and at night I use a thicker moisturizer. That is all. And a lip sleeping mask! Honestly it's so much easier to just do this and not have to worry about all the ingredients. It helps so much to be less stressed than worrying about ingredients, so if you can just eliminate some things it helps make your life easier. Your skin goes through a lot of changes during pregnancy so the easier the better!

I’m so glad I’m not the only one who was concerned about all my products when I was pregnant. I ended up on bedrest for 5.5 months, so, I didn’t need any of my makeup anyways 🤣 . I’m sooooo happy you’re expecting!! I had my triple rainbow 7 months ago. I couldn’t be happier!

Leighann cleaning out products that are not "pregnancy safe." Then there's my mother who most likely smoked a cigarette every now and then and definitely had a glass of wine more often than she would admit.😂🤔😂
My mother had an agreement with her doctor and with my dad that she would smoke one pack of cigarettes per 10 days (she could not stop smoking as she was afraid that the withdrawal symptoms would cause a miscarriage). So she was sneaking out of the house and was buying extra packs and smoked in secret 😂😂 Thankfully I turned out fine...til now 😆 It was so different in our moms' generation...
My mom and my aunts all drank and some smoked when they were pregnant back in the 60s. They just didn’t know not to. 🤷🏻♀️ I think we all came out fine. LoL We’re all in our 50s now.
Love this idea!! I feel kinda inspired to declutter my "junk" drawer now. You know... the one with the manuals for appliances and pens and tape and lighters and batteries... LOL
I was insanely sleepy the first 12 weeks of my first pregnancy. I slept almost 23 hours of every 24. I figured my body needed it and I could not stay awake regardless so I just went with it.

Being pregnant totally made me think more about what I was putting on my face and skin. Like if it’s not safe during pregnancy is it ever really safe...ekk I tossed everything and now have a pretty simple setup of nothing extra. Love that cerave pm moisturizer. You totally influenced me on that one.
Girl you do you, when you said you were getting rid of skincare that you can’t use when you’re pregnant I did a slow “ooooo... I didn’t do that in my pregnancy 10 years ago” 😳 I wasn’t all skin care savvy anyways so I barely used products but my almost 10 yo daughter is fine. However tu is being said you do your research and don’t listen to trolls on either side. Love ya 🥰
I'm 10 weeks along and honestly the list of things they tell you not to eat, drink, use, is ridiculous. I've actually started reading studies and half the things they tell you are terrible have REALLY low chances of hurting your baby. It's so frustrating. ❤️ I wish you luck on your research journey!
Only thing I got when I was pregnant in 2018 was a list of what over the counter medicines I can take. I never got anything on what to use or not use. I'm watching this video like... okay...
@@TheEiko27 most of the dos and don'ts I've gotten are from other people and baby books/websites. My doctor has basically just told me don't do anything stupid, use a hot tub, or take certain over the counter medicines. 😂
Loved this. I have to say, I am sorta glad I had my children before we knew any better. Of course, most of these products had not been invented. Good grief I took medicine, ate fish and drank coffee! They are both still thriving in their 20's. LOL

First, I fully enjoy your channel. I am over the moon excited for you and Grant! I can't wait to keep up with your pregnancy journey. Second, I am a fellow oily Texas girl. Since having to wear a mask so much because I am still working I have been having so much trouble with breakouts. If you have any drug store suggestions for skin care I would LOVE to try them out.

Also have to say really good that you skipping all that harsh ingredients, you can use it as soon as you stop breastfeeding🥰 I was do happy to start my glycolic and salicylic acids and retinol . I had horrible acne all over my body both of my pregnancy. Tea tree oil is your best friend and clay masks!

Here In Germany it’s recommend not to use bha in pregnancy at all and I was very sad about it especially because my skin was awful in the first and second trimester BUT my PC bha didn’t expire and I did use it after the pregnancy and it still worked 👍
Wear the bite agave at night!! It is the only balm that works for me! It really is sooo good! I use to think the same but you need to give it another try!
I'm here for the taste of reality haha. Also, I love the Bite beauty balms, but they have the be in a tube, I hate sticking my fingers in a tub.
Could you maybe do a video from start to finish getting ready (in other words moisturizer, sunscreen, foundation, etc.) I, too, have oily skin and have a hard time finding products that layer well and don't cake up. Would love to see your routine!

Side note alot of my stuff was unopened and the stuff that was I just took picks of for the yes no and after piles.
I think and this is what I did is allllllll the stuff that I questioned weather it was safe or not to use when I was pregnant and breastfeeding I made a huge bag and at one of my appoments I took it all in and asked my obgyn. Even if it was to old to use in that moment or expired I wanted to know so if I chose to repurchase it I knew if it was safe or not. Best thing I did cause out of the 48 thing I took only 8 where no goes when I was but he said where fine for after birth. Saved me soooooo much money and time.

I didn't read the comments so maybe someone or many people have already mentioned this, but you could keep the products that are not expired but not pregnancy safe in a separate basket to use once you're done breastfeeding... Just a thought
They'll be expired by then. 9 months of pregnancy and then could be another year or two of breastfeeding...
Unfortunately most cosmetics or skincare specifically expire 12 months after opening.
Clinque has a moisture surge eye cream for dark circles. Its my absolute favorite.
My only pregnancy *wisdom* is I’m glad I had skincare for a different skin type around. I went from my normal dry skin to SUPER OILY for a while and then back to super DUPER dry. I imagined the baby just stealing my essence, my moisture, my oil. It was crazy 😂
