"Fallen Idol" and the opening movie cemented my love for this franchise. The scene where Shaman calls down the animal spirits from the sky onto Bravestarr IS STILL AMAZING; it looks straight off a rock album cover. Bravestarr was cool, and his bromance with 30/30 helped make this series great. I'm surprised they showed the two punch each other as much as they did. It reminded me of how I made some of my best friends after a good throwdown on the playground.
Exactly, it's a decidedly old school bit of character writing and that sort of Zeitgeist is really what I (and appearantly a lot of other Germans) love about Bravestarr. And yeah, that rotoscoped 'Heavy Metal' - 'Fire and Ice' look is awesome.
I love the show, if there was anything that buried it, it was how badly it was pushed. You would think they would had started with the movie, put out the toys and have the show fallow that and keep it all in a couple of months. Rather then that they put out the toys a year before the show was ready.. and was canceled before the show got out. As for the movie, the one that set up the show, came a year after the show was cancelled. The toys being a flop without the show didn't help when it went to market for broadcast, so got picked up on the cheep and usually tossed into the worst time slots. The show being good or bad didn't matter, it was going to have problems no mater.
I think the whole "It was made for a toy line!" comment is kinda pointless. The show was good in all of it's pulpy, sometimes corny goodness. It's not like it was a bunch of 20 minute episodes going "but the toys!".
You're right. Thanks for sharing your opinion, I keep having trouble writing longer reviews, that's why recently I've switched to making shorter reviews and bundling them in a Tierlist.
I wouldn't even know how to check, I used to upload stupid shit on here back when I was 17/18 but I don't believe that's it, when I uploaded my Soylent Green video, a family member look it up and it was still there.

It published a poorly edited but very well written video dispelling the myth about the barbie.avi creepypasta, before anyone else did, and it only got few dozens of views, for years. Then like months later all the other creepy channel catched on and they made millions of views. TLDR, you are shadowbanned because of something you published when you started the channel.

Damn good review. This was one of my favorite shows as a kid, collected the entire toy line. Shame it never caught on.
