James Reyne is about to launch a national tour - "James Reyne Plays Australian Crawl". Here's a look at the musicians involved and some of the gear they're using. John Watson, Phil Ceberano, James Reyne, Andy McIvor and Brett Kingman all feature in a rehearsal recorded at Deluxe Audio in Melbourne, Australia on 29 July 2014. There's also a lo-fi sneak preview of "Always The Way" at the end. Enjoy!
So great to see John Watson, as I've loved his solid groove for most of James' works, especially from the late 80s and early 90s. Thanks for sharing!!
The song at the end is exactly down by the river... until it changes! Brilliant all the musos here!❤
That was excellent, thank you Brett.
This is just too COOL. Thanks Brett and Everyone.
Saw you guys last night....great music.....great inspiration
love it burgs. The show the other night at RWC was fab saw it at Enmore and will be seeing it again at Rooty Hill or Campbelltown. Thank you for uploading a behind the scenes shot love to see that stuff of how it all comes together :) !!
Can't wait for this gig in Adelaide. Been waiting for an Aussie Crawl gig since 1981 at The Arlberg, Mt Buller. (I was well under age but snuck in the back door from Twin Towers!)
Really interesting, and everyone is so relaxed and laid back, that would be a fun tour to play on! If you are coming to Tassie I'll try and say 'hi'
It is a fun tour, yep. :) Tassie: I hope they'll announce dates for your beautiful part of the world soon. Keep an eye on James' website for further updates.
Your slide playing sounded great. I haven't heard you play slide before. Nice!
You made it that far into the video? Well done. And thanks! :)
I hope you guys have a great tour.
Looking forward to the Tassie leg (hopefully!) great run down Burgs
I am impressed that you are taking the Axe FX II on the road, it must give you the right feel to use it instead of a traditional amp. Love the "backup" amp as well!
Yeah, I have no problems with the Axe-FX II. I love it and it's hard to substitute given the machine's versatility. Thanks Todd. :)
Cheers4the little peak backstage of the gear boys :-) gracious
The Good old days Australian Crawl music.bring back the 80s please.
Bravo!
really cool!
next time review the keyboardist & his gear?
hoping your next leg brings you to Los Angeles, CA
I love Phil's Strat plus!
Got an old video somewhere called Australia Now which had Australian Crawl on doing a song called Shut Down I think it was which I thought was a great song
ROCK ON
Wicked ❤
Phil Rocks!
Well, that was so cool. Boys didn't play long enough on the vid.....
👏👏👏
You guys sound great! Are the walls moldy there or is that some kind of sound treatment??? lol
Surf's up!!
Loved it Brett! Was this gopro footage?
Yep. I must get one with a viewfinder so I can see what I'm shooting..!
***** Nice one! If that was all gopro audio it did a fantastic job, hope you are all having a blast on the road
patdavidmusic All GoPro audio but I did run a compressor over it in Final Cut Pro X to bring the levels up a little. Thanks!
Wow, all those guitar pedals that you guys have to contend with makes it seem as if you need NASA Mission Control to do all the guitar pedal combinations. John Watson is lucky he just has to play the drums instead of having to juggle between a heap of guitar pedals while playing the drums. I liked the John Fogerty guitar effect that James did towards the start of the video. He should maybe do an album of John Fogerty songs some day.
dat thinline. gat dang.
That Thinline...damn!!
Nice interview/s. I thought I saw an Axe8 on a recent gig? ( Not the fxII).
Yeah, Josh runs an AX8. We'll probably update it to an FM9 when they become available. Cheers.
Cheers mate, would love the Boyz light up preset???
I'd give my left stone to be as tasty a drummer as John Watson
Your best vid yet, just missing some of the jam?
Haha. Thanks! It's missing about 10 minutes of that song. I'll post more stuff soon ... :)
Who makes James and your telecaster's Brett? Cheers.
James' Tele's are mostly built by Brett Dwyer, a small quantity builder who lives near Newcastle, NSW. You can contact Brett at brett.dwyer1@facebook.com. Mine are built by one of three guys: 1. Eric Smit (Smitty) of The Netherlands; 2. John Palir (Palir Guitars) and 3: Tony Nasrallah (Redhouse Guitars). Tony built the white Tele. Cheers!
I laughed when i saw the Serrano Piccaso. Mine was doing the same thing. I solved it by lending it to someone... Prob just the switch though.
So that's my problem - VELCRO!!! LOL!
Great simple run through Bergs ... BUT .. shite .. thought I was still pissed from last nights' tequila ... maybe you were too .. 🤣🙏🙏🤘
The new age Pink Floyd?
Interviewer should avoid eating when doing an Interview
Poor preparation and careless!
If I want to hear someone eat I go to a restaurant
