Sadly, the stocks have fallen out of use as a form of punishment. I'm all for a bit of public humiliation for minor crimes. The closest I've heard about is someone sentenced to a 'community service order' where you have to work a certain number of hours for nothing. They had to brush up the streets in the middle of their small town, much to the amusement of their friends.
There are some interesting ones in the Cotswolds, Stratford-upon-Avon is full of them, although you'll have to battle the tourists also. Thank you for watching
