I am not a fan of split pea soup however this gives me the want to pressure can soups. Chicken noodle is one of my all time favs. I have a Ball complete guide to home canning and preserving so I'm sure I'll find a lot of other soup recipes in there. I love split pea soup. I had to fool hubby when we first got married and continued to for many years until he admitted (and my kids too) that they liked the soup. I used yellow peas and bacon and called it bacon soup as they associated pea soup as green peas....never dreamed peas could be yellow. LOL but I got my split pea soup and they got bacon soup.... I enjoy canning but I hate that last step of washing down the jars before putting them on the shelves. Especially pea soup. I swear it’s like concrete 😂
Question: does your canner hiss the WHOLE 75 minutes when you are pressure canning? I have literally run out of water (only a few tbsp left in the bottom) a few times in the past. Hubby is amazed that your recipe is the same as mine (men lol pea soup is pretty basic we all do it similar). He is itching to make some now to can.
looks good Lynn, was wondering did you ever buy any of the rings forjars have for sale. I need to buy rings and I have heard it said that their lids don't rust as fast as other companies rings. Just wondering cause I trust you LOL Blessings and Prayers
I do have some of their rings. They're all mixed up though, with the other brands, but I will say, I do definitely have some very rusty rings that aren't that old and some that aren't rusty.. So maybe the ones that aren't rusty, are 4 jars? I'll have to see if I have a package of them not open that are just the rings and I'll let you know.

Yes ball has a lot of soup recipes!
Just remember to not can the noodles or rice. Add those ingredients when you open the jar

Yeah these were crusty lol I should have wiped them down a bit better before I put them in Canner 🤦♀️

Ps mines a nesco the American version of Carey
It hisses for the 10 min vent and gets less noisy after that but still vents a bit. I've had very little water left a few times also.
