I do enjoy watching cooking videos that teach me something new. But, sadly, so many spend way too much time showing vegeys being cut. Honestly, show me 2 carrots, show me 2 chopped carrots ... I'll figure it out.
😂😂😂😂
Thank you for watching Diana! Also thank you for the feedback, my most recent videos are less choppy and more straight to the good stuff! lol
All the trimmings you’re putting in the plastic bag can be frozen to make vegetable stock for future soups once you have collected a gallon freezer bag full.
Thank you for the tip! I'm going to try that out!
@@chantelsfoodventuresthe potato skins are not great for stock making. Everything else though.... I also keep chicken bones from wings and what not for stock as well.
Hello Chantel, thank you for such an amazing video. You're a culinary genius, amazing artist and an angel. Long may your tribe grow.
@@Ottawajames Noted! Thank you :D

Thank you for your kind words Becki! I love when food brings back those loving memories!
That is how I make my split pea soup, except I do not add marjoram. Lately I've added barley and it's delish.
I have to try that! I love barley, especially in barley and lentil soup!
Split pea has always been one of my favorites and this one looks delicious!
Thank you so much!! I love split pea soup too!

Thanks... Great video.
I, too, use peels/stubs of veggies to use in stock.
I love the idea of using potatoes in split pea soup. They're a healthy way of adding more texture to wonderfully hearty soups.
Yes they are! Thank you for watching. I need to try my hand at making stock from my produce peels!
A wonderful way to thicken up your soup when you use the russet potatoes..♥️🪻🌼🌸🌺

I'll have to try out this recipe 🥕My husband likes to make a South East Asian version of this. He makes it with potatoes, frozen peas, chicken stock, ginger, garam masala and other Indian spices.❤
Wow that sounds amazing! I have to try this out! Thank you for sharing that with me
@@chantelsfoodventures If you want the recipe I would highly recommend that you google :"An Invitation to Indian Cooking" by Madhur Jaffrey. The green soup is called Hara Shorva. The recipe in that book and her book is so well written, easy recipes and very good.

Hello Very nice !! This is how I make my soup also , I also like eating some tasty garlic croutons on top, and yes, the soup is… delicious!! I also make the red lentil, (leek potato soup) , and a wonderful barley soup , I hope you had a wonderful 2024 Easter!! This is Renee from New Jersey… and thank you for your wonderful video🥰
Thank you much Renee! I will try garlic croutons the next time I make soup, it sounds like a great addition
Look yemmy
Thank you!
Don’t stop keep on doing this
Thank you so much!
😮This here tho !! 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
Thank youu!
Where is the HAM HOCK! LOL
My guess would be in the refrigerated meat section at the grocery store? 👀
We do not eat any pork which I know the smoked pork would taste wonderful, but you can use smoked turkey leg to add the flavour in the soup. You don’t have to eat the meat you can take it out but it leaves a wonderful flavour , if you don’t like that, you can add smoked paprika that gives it a wonderful smoky taste. Let me know what you think about that. Thank you Renée
Always use celeriac, which gives a deeper and better taste.
Thanks for the tip! I'll look into that
Wünsche ich es Euch allen Männer & Frauen an der Kompetenz Arbeitsplätzen einen Mittagessen Angenehmen Raum haben
This here is crazy good looking 👀👀😮💨😮💨😮💨
Thank you!!!
How do you split a pea?
That's a very good question! I have no clue lol
I find it interesting that you don't have the celery on the ingredient list. Any job done is a job well done. That's what I believe my dad would have said if I had one.😊
oh no! thank you for catching that! I just updated the ingredient list to show the celery as well.
Now you're talking, 🤗😊😎
Not many like you around 😉 keep up the good work 😀🤗
@@David-kc9sn thank you! ☺️

No dumplings?😟
hmm I haven't had it with dumplings before. Thanks for the idea!
You don’t need them in the soup, but if you’d like it put it in🥰
