Lets not forget that the excavator is so flexible at doing different types of work, that it's hard to beat at small projects like this. Once you need to remove large areas of pavement / concrete slabs, you'd probably go grab a pavement milling machine anyways that they also use in roadworks. But they're pretty specialised machines, so it's limited what you can use them for ... again, equipment costs is important. Anyways, enjoyed watching you tear some concrete apart, thanks for sharing. :)
That came up nice the concrete placer will be happy as a pig in shit there isn't much prep needed to place the new driveway. Lucky there was no bar or mesh gotta love it when people are cheap and they skimp on re-inforcing lol.
Or you can just use a jackhammer on a skid-loader and balance the pieces of concrete on the jackhammer and load the truck like that. Lots faster but it does take some practice doing.
Why waste the time and money on a compressor and hammer when you still need something to pick it up and load it? I'm sure if you can do it as quickly by hand as Chris can with his equipment, he'll be out of a job soon enough and you won't have to watch his videos any more.

Good job sir. Definitely comes out faster than it goes in
Will you be showing the complete project or just the demo of this one? Thanks for the videos. I think they are great!
because thats 3 times the work and its hard to load it into a quad
nope just have a loose cutter blade everything else is tight
Great vid!
8 quad loads of concrete of you crazy! lol
nice work been operating 16 years myself like to watch others do it
Chris Canty
So many armchair experts in these comments, gotta love 'em
+Charles Hodge I was thinking the same thing. People never did anything in their life but they are an expert on everything.
What do u do with all the crushed concrete
how much force does the thumb clamp with
So what are you doing on this job after tearing out the driveway? Seems a bit different for you to be doing residential stuff like this.
Wow!.. hope you got the right address.
jack hammer? pff its quicker and easier to do it with the digger, and less mess to clean up
Also ich finde deine Arbeit gut! Grüße aus Deutschland
that sounds like way too much work to me
Why do you break it up after its in the pile? Why not leave it in big chunks so you can haul it easier?

What do you do with the concrete?
Love2boat92 Load it in a dump truck and send it to the crusher.
was there no rebar in that concrete?!?!
lmao "that's one big damn rock"
lol, whats with the track bars if u can move with out them??? im a noob lol
how is that too much work? I guess if you can get by without it you don't need it
"The idea is not to break it up"
*Moves the concrete peice 10metres and breaks it up*
Where is the rebar or wire mesh? There’s no reinforcement
thats why u charge by the hour chris :)
Think it's time for some new pins an bushings.
now that's a rock
More more, I love it. Thanks
5 years, how time flies :o
Definitely much easier without reo bar in the concrete
Why not just use a skid-loader and use forks and take the sections out like that?
piece*
an interesting video.
no better way to beat a machine up than concrete demo hey?
No rebar or mesh used in your part of the world! It is here, in everything concrete. Tare outs like the one you're doing are not that. Simple here.
Hey Chris why don't I use a ripper to break up the Crete instead of stuffing up the teeth on the bucket and the thumb as well
I would like to have that trackhoe the next time I tear out a driveway
its an exavator
MadMotors350 samething
craydul no a trackhoe is what you find at the dog races

damn chris, 11 minutes after uploaded and 45 views, i dont have the many view total.
Kumpel du bist spitze du kriegst alles zermalmt und du gibst auch nicht auf bis alles zu Grütze ist super mach weiter so
why wouldn't you load that right into a truck

Iv had to do this with a sledge hammer and a wheel barrow... Its not fun....
Why buy jack hammer if you can do it more faster with this way? :O
Aleksi Karppinen .p
,
You should buy a jack hammer and a ingersoll rand compressor that can tow behind a pickup.
chris u ever heard of a jack hammer????
