Great video. I started watching yourr videos a few weeks ago. I really enjoy watching. It amazes me at the amount of work you get done with just two people. I am in Central NC and the weather foir the past coupke of weks has been horribly hot and humid. Thanks for making these videos I really look foirward to your new ones.
At least you are working and like to go to work for the pay off. Watching you work while on my laptop with both ear buds in feels like my recliner is turning back an forth with you....Lol !!!
I'm building a dam across my ravine on my property I just bought. It will be 25ft. tall, 8-10ft. wide at the top, 75-100ft. approximately long, with a 3to1 slope. I have great clay, how do you suggest I tie into both sides of the ravine? Should I dig a key into the sides as well so it all locks together? Any info would be great and love watching your vids, keep up the good work!
To build that road up 3 feet, I think you said it was going to be that much higher, how deep did you have to dig into the top of the hill? About 20 feet???
Great video Chris. When are you gonna get a bigger haul truck and get the 5 ton army truck working with it, lol? Bet that old M929 is probably screaming to get put back onto a job site.
Very nice again Chris loading the rocktruck, I understand you are a multitasker you can operate every peace of equipment , working with the chainsaw 😲💥😲💥😲💥😲💥😲💥😲
Chris, you always do such a great job and your work is impeccable as usual, but can you explain or tell me something? When you draw the bucket toward you, I notice that you are able to keep it level with the ground. Is that something you have to control or is it a feature of the excavator that allows you to make it stay level with the ground?
I've been watching your vids, keep it up Anybody trying to get more done in the same situation would have to work there ass off!! I don't believe it'd be possible to exceed it!!
I wish it was nice like that here in Manitoba, the grounds still frozen after our cold winter , but it's warming up some days and the spring melt run off is starting to make a mess on those warmer days. twice in the last 2 weeks I tried "scratching" 2ft wide drainage channels. I can get down 6" and then it's game over with the TLB as it's digging in a bit with the teeth and pulling the front 2ft in the air and dragging it back down the trench. Tonight and the next day or so we will have instant concrete again its going back to around - 20 or 27oc again I was in the city last week and there was a 30 ton hoe with a ripper tooth on having exactly the same problems. He was going down 8 to 10 foot for a water main below the frost line so that was going to take a while. I hate just sitting waiting for a guy to come back, so think of the calories you are burning running between the 2 machines all day, You got a health benefit plan you get paid for L.O.L.. Thanks for sharing another day ,take care.
watching you work your machines in many excellent videos it does not escape m how much action occurs to your body, especially your spine. Keep a good eye on your kidneys and have your doctor check you out specifically for kidney issues as vibration can mess you up bigtime.
Fenrir Purpose built rock trucks don't have them. They are built strictly for off road so instead of a tail gate the back part of the floor inclines up to the end as you can see.
You could not be more wrong. They do come with tail gates and they are not made just for rocks. At the very start of the video to the left of the handlebar you use to pull your self up with, you see this mounting, That's where the tailgate articulates from when they are on.
Have you thought about buying a scraper? Or decided to stay away from buying one for the simple reason you wouldn’t use it enough to make a profit on it
As someone who has 0 experience with heavy equipment but has a strong work ethic and isn't afraid of hard work what do you think my best bet is to get into the trade. Obviously the first answer would be to just apply at a company but I've heard people saying to go to heavy equipment school first which I think is kinda BS.
I think you would be better off just going to a company and starting out operating heavy equipment. I have been around heavy equipment for years. The best way to learn is to operate. Having said that if if you wish to make more money operator school is the way to go. That way you are certified in operating most heavy equipment. It all depends on which way you would like to go. Hope that helps.
evan eubanks, there aren't a lot of companies that will turn you out in any machine with zero experience. You might have to get in with a company that has a few machines that you can "play" with here and there, while performing other duties. The alternatives, equipment school, trade unions, or work for an equipment rental company. The rental company route can get you experience in many different machines at the same time.
That definitely helps thank you guys! I've always been interested in getting into heavy equipment but I wasn't sure how to get the ball rolling..im gonna apply at a few local companies this week. Wish me luck!
So are you strictly a machine operator or did you go to school for an engineering degree? Hope I'm not sticking my nose up some where it don't belong?!
Im a do everything guy, I we need to shovel, I shovel. If I need to chainsaw I saw. Run the dozer sure, dump truck, yup! I have to be able to do every task needed. I went to school for construction management
Mark Mortensen if your interested in this type of work. Go apply at some civil companies as a labor and work your way up the machines. Best way to get into the game.
DFRDRIFTPIG --I like it all right but I'm a little old to start now. I spent 35 years working at a steel distribution plant as a foreman mostly. But thanks.
Hi Mark, let's say you started at 20 and you are now 55. That makes you a spring chicken. You could live at least 35 more years. You could think of this as a second career or a retirement job.
Just look at every bucket as a $$ sign! $20, $20, $20.... At the end of the day after fuel, insurance, taxes, few more taxes, and don't forget the local municipal taxes! You then can go home and do a side job so you cqn eat.
The problem with scrapers are you run three engines, two on the scraper and typically a push dozer. More fuel burned and one more operator. Hope that answers your question.
Letsdig18, reshaping the world, one bucket at a time! 😎

Thank u for taking time to film ur work for us old retirees, heavy equipment operate r bro

Nice done! But you need really a bigger bucket ;-)
Another great video! And it’s not raining so that’s a plus!
At least you are working and like to go to work for the pay off. Watching you work while on my laptop with both ear buds in feels like my recliner is turning back an forth with you....Lol !!!
Like the video Chris , just my tought a loader is to slow and exc. is faster to load trucks .
What, no one stuck that you need to go pull out ! 😊
Thanks for sharing and take care. 👍
I've always thought haul trucks should have some sort of road smoothing apparatus.
Do you have a compound for all of your equipment? That’d be a cool video, a tour
hey...it's like magic on here. .the dirt keeps disappearing from the back of the truck.lol
Jason would be impressed with your mass excavating operation.
You ever get home from work and feel like your still turning back and forth
Kolby Kamerick only after a few drinks

Best videos on UA-cam !
Hey Chris been following you for a few years now as canvids1 and changed my name to Wayne Rogers. love your videos thanks.
To build that road up 3 feet, I think you said it was going to be that much higher, how deep did you have to dig into the top of the hill?
About 20 feet???
Is it hard on your thumbs when holding the joysticks? Is that why you operate using your fingertips?
Great video Chris. When are you gonna get a bigger haul truck and get the 5 ton army truck working with it, lol? Bet that old M929 is probably screaming to get put back onto a job site.

Bob Ferranti I have to do all the controlling, machine does nothing. Takes a long time to master cutting grade. I still can't hold grade some days
I like how that truck was full, and with the next scoop it was empty, how much dirt is in one scoop ?
great video!
This guy is a boss! How long would it take to become an excavator operator?
Josh Moore, to get to his level......more than a decade of operating an excavator almost daily.
I always tell people today is my first day. Lol!
Chad Dixon, I sometimes do too. It kinda freaks them out when I pull in with a 200 ton crane, and they think it's my first day.
do you own all your equipment? love all your videos. I do woodworking for a living would love to start doing what your into
yeah we do
letsdig18 very nice
I don't know what you're talking about, but you're a good worker
A few more days like this and you might make a good operator!
I've been watching your vids, keep it up
Anybody trying to get more done in the same situation would have to work there ass off!! I don't believe it'd be possible to exceed it!!
as always thanks for a great video.much love from West Virginia.👌🙏🍀👍💪
Hold that rain off don't let it get to Greenville. I need to back fill a foundation this morning. Going to put the Mecalac to work.
how is your back? I notice your moving forward when moving the bucket to unload into the truck. Like truck drivers who have lower back problems.
Chris, was wondering who does the bidding on your projects?
I wish it was nice like that here in Manitoba, the grounds still frozen after our cold winter , but it's warming up some days and the spring melt run off is starting to make a mess on those warmer days. twice in the last 2 weeks I tried "scratching" 2ft wide drainage channels. Is there a video of the rest of this project?
Thanks for the videos.
Nice videos Chris
Looking a bit dryer than the last time you were there.

It seems like this would have been a good project for your 290. I'm curious why you don't use that more often. Did you sell it?
they didnt have it fixed from when it went back for the idler repair
They going to replace the wrong one again....
Whats going with the 290? Is going to be used anytime soon ?
been sitting, might have a job or two coming up for it
Awesome you make running equipment look very easy.
Sir Please Tell Work Starting And End For New Operater For Learning
Why do you load it back to front to start with? any specific philosophy behind it?
Fenrir seems to hold more dirt if you start at the back and does not allow the clumps to roll out as bad. Plus it cuts down on the cycle time
About that. Where's your beds door (The piece of steel gate that should sit on the back of the bed. No idea what its called in English)
Fenrir Purpose built rock trucks don't have them. They are built strictly for off road so instead of a tail gate the back part of the floor inclines up to the end as you can see.

The tailgate is optional. You can get those trucks with or without them.
That is the quickest I have ever seen anybody drop a load!! 😂😂😂
Blink and youll miss it!
Watching porn?

evan eubanks, good luck! If you get turned away, don't lose hope. Stay persistent.
To The Top Crane I wont buddy thanks! I've never been a quitter!
Seasick steve. Ain't nothin but a thang...woohoo.

🇦🇺. Good job
You could never for the State Highway Department. They would fire you the first day for working way toooo hard.
Just look at every bucket as a $$ sign! $20, $20, $20.... At the end of the day after fuel, insurance, taxes, few more taxes, and don't forget the local municipal taxes! You then can go home and do a side job so you cqn eat.
Why not bring out the bigger hoe (290?) Seems like it would load quicker even though it has a slower swing speed
Man Chris you have the door open a gin on your truck from Chris
Just a question but for a job like this would it be faster or cheaper to rent a 623 scraper.
The problem with scrapers are you run three engines, two on the scraper and typically a push dozer. More fuel burned and one more operator. Hope that answers your question.
hmmm rent a machine or use all the iron we already own... thats simple lol
Cat just ended new scraper production.....
A 623 is a self loading scraper
Makes since
Shouldn't have cut out the times to dump the dirt.
Need an end gate on that rock truck
gets in the way when you haul brush
Old school..no trimble or GPS
GOD!! I wish I had you’re job, I’d bury so many assholes, the world would be a better place. 😂
Would a loader be quicker?
LMAO one crew!!!!!!
Trade in the A30 for an A25 that has a power tailgate.
