The pulse concert was filmed over 2 nights in October 1994, at Earls court in London. I was there for both nights. The event had such a profound effect on us that we hardly spoke on the way home, just lost in our own thoughts, trying to understand what we had experienced. There will never be anything like Pink Floyd again. They were and always will be completely unique
That is definitely by far the best guitar solo of all time and I don’t think anyone can beat that. Gilmour plays his heart out and there’s so many feelings poring through that guitar 🎸 I would really recommend that you watch and listen to Sorrow from that same Pulse Concert in 1994. It will blow you away, I promise!!
The rotating speakers with the mirrors were custom made for this concert. Three sets of rotating speaker cabinets, referred to as "Doppola's", The speakers included a pair of 6-inch, 100-watt drivers. The three speakers were used in tandem with Gilmour's 4 x 12-inch speaker cabinets through the duration of the concerts. They spin to gives a Tremelo effect. Although David did use Leslie 2101's (as mentioned by Jon Henke below), and Yamaha RA200 later. These Doppola's were connected to his HiWatt amplifiers. These speakers were used for a few songs at Pulse but not all. They would lower them below the stage floor when not in use
Thank you so much for reacting to this. I was in high school here in North Carolina when this song first came out in 1979. I remember it well. My girlfriend at the time and I loved attending concerts. It was one of the things we loved doing together. My wife did the same thing during that time period as well. There were a huge number of wonderful groups at the time and concerts were not very expensive to attend. Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Boston, Journey, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Triumph, 38 Special, Foreigner, and many others. I cannot describe to you what a wonderful time it was to be young then compared to today. We were happier, relationships were closer, life was more carefree, and the music was spectacular. Our 4 adult children (28-33) love 70’s/80’s music just as we do. My heart just aches that young people will not get to experience life as we did as teenagers in the 70’s/80’s. Again, thank you so much for posting this video. It was a wonderful treat.
In North America, this song was usually played on the encore, and it was followed by (Run Like Hell). Despite the intensity of (Run Like Hell), at the end of the show, the crowd was leaving the stadium in an almost religious calm, as if everyone had suddenly become "Comfortably Numb." I saw this show twice during their visit to Montreal on May 23 and 24, 1994, and the atmosphere at the end of the show was always the same. The spectators knew that they had just witnessed the event which would remain etched in their memory forever.
Great reaction (and David Gilmour's guitar solos have that levitating impact on people). :) I saw him in concert in 2016 as a solo artist and he still sounded amazing!). As for the Pulse concert, I suggest you check out 'Sorrow' next.
Those things that are spinning that you're calling triangles are rotating Leslie speakers! The spinning speaker makes the sound three-dimensional and that's why they use them! They may be a different type of spinning speaker but I've heard that they're rotating Leslie speakers. I've seen these guys four times in three different decades and never seen a better concert!! And I've seen about a hundred concerts including everyone from ACDC to led Zeppelin and in-between alphabetically!! You should check out the song "On the Run", from this same concert which is almost in the middle of Dark Side of the Moon of which they play the entire album but near the end of that song they crash a full-size airplane into the stage that explodes! The equipment for this tour cost Pink Floyd 98 million dollars in 1994 money which is why every song in this concert is like almost any other bands finale!!!!
I saw the show in new. Orleans super dome, the hold back drop is a circled back drop for the lasers ,was a few feet from the top of the dome. Best show ever 65 thousand People left numb but comfortable.
1994 was 29 yrs. ago. FYI: disco ball was inserted after 1982 concerts. It represent an FU to music critics back n the 60's & 70's which said their music won't sell because you can't dance to it. Checkout album cover 1982 P.F. collection of dance song. This was their last concert playing 14 days in a row sold out. Micheal Jackson music Greg Phillinganes director saw this an said P.F. is so far above everyone else. He later play with Dave Gilmour on his last solo concert Seen on " live at Pompeii" This song played on U.T. over 25 million views.
You mentioned planes. I saw them in Columbus, Ohio. The stadium is on the flight path. I read that the lighting crew had to coordinate with the tower at the airport during the show.
In Chicago there was an executive airport about a mile from Soldier Field. Based on that the city would not allow them to use their lasers even though they promised not to point them toward this sky. City would not budge on it. Incredible show nonetheless. Historic in every way.
Try “Stone Cold” with Joe Bonamassa and Jimmy Barnes. They also do “Lazy” (a Deep Purple cover). Oh, saw this concert in Vancouver BC, took my son for his HS graduation. Was great to feel the music.
You didn't really need to take drugs for that concert. Second-hand smoke was good enough! Especially on "One of these days" where I felt like I was levitating! And it was in surround sound too.
This song is from "The Wall" album. Check out "Time" by them from "Dark Side of the Moon". Both albums are considered masterpieces. Gilmour is the GOAT!! 🎸
You should react to “while my guitar gently weeps” live with Prince at the rock and roll hall of fame, princes improvised guitar solo at the end is one of the greatest of all time for sure!
The idea that a guitar solo must be fast (shredding) to be considered great is put to rest by David Gilmour. If you can make your guitar sing, then you’ve achieved what shredders never will.
What ever happened to great rock bands? Replaced by Hip Hop and Rap that no one will remember in ten years time. Now Aerosmith are doing one last tour. The Stones will be next and then blackness shall descend.
Please read a little more about the tour you are messing the greatest guitar solo and show up I was there in New Orleans, it was greatest I have seen let the show; research more. Sorry I just respect the last tour as the greatest. 65 thousand were quite sorry ,

Just to be clear for the reactor, the band had a 14 night stay at Earl's Court to end the tour, with two of them being filmed to create the DVD.

The bass guitar machine heads are built into the body.
The circular screen has been part of their act since the early days.

best band of all times 😎👍 next one from Pink Floyd - On the Turning Away ( live to the Delicate sound of Thunder concert , 1990 i think ) 😎👍

Pink Floyd are brilliantly different
The lasers for the show were actually borrowed from the US military.
Any song from this concert will blow your mind.

I was there and it was best day of my life and I had never seen so many joints getting lit up , the staff at earls court must have been stoned too 😀
"That's no moon...........It's a Space Station!"

Mind blowing!
I was at this concert. Never pause this song.

You really need to react to the uncut version of this same performance
Another great performance of the same show. SORROW... OUF!!!!!!
Can you react to Little Black Submarines by The Black Keys. I think you'll really like it, and it has an excellent guitar solo. Thanks!
You should react to “while my guitar gently weeps” live with Prince at the rock and roll hall of fame, princes improvised guitar solo at the end is one of the greatest of all time for sure!
It's not a prism. It's a rotating speaker.

I like you.
I would not want to be high at a Floyd concert, what a waste.
Right? You don't need chemicals to get a transcendental experience at a Pink Floyd concert; the music is the drug.
