Thanks for watching! It was great to see Pere Marquette 1225 again, especially outside of the winter. Big thanks to the Steam Railroading Institute and Village of Ashley for putting on this event! Ohhhh, so thiiis is what the Polar Express does in it's spare time outside of the Christmas season. It takes baseball fans to a baseball game! Jokes aside, another amazing outing for the 1225 all captured in amazing shots all the way through!
Sometime between 1993 and 1996, when I was between 16 and 19 years old, I saw this locomotive out on the CSX tracks in Westland, MI that crossed Hix Road. I immediately went home and grabbed my dad and we sped off to Plymouth Yard to see it pass. Then we saw it again at Steam Fest in Owasso, MI though it wasnt operating. Saw NP 765 as well as SP 1449 with a sky-top observation car. Plus a beautiful new-build 4-4-0. Great memories.
Pere Marquette 1225 is another beautiful steam locomotive. I hope to see this beautiful steam locomotive over by December of this year on the Christmas week, it’s one of my favorite steam locomotives as I said before. Since it appeared in the famous Christmas movie Polar Express (From 2004), which I was born on the same year it was released and had watched it during my childhood. It’s one of my favorite train movies, one of my favorite movies, and one of my favorite Christmas movies. This year will also Mark the 20th anniversary of the locomotive’s appearance in the movie, as well as the movie itself too.
The famos Christmas steam Locomotive allways showes her true steam power!! And i gues thats what 1225 does now outside takeing a break from the polar express trains and start injoying a new life during the summer holiday!!
😃This was great to see! I have yet to get over there and see that in person. I'm also hoping to see their other restoration project, the 175 when it is complete. Thanks for the video, what beautiful sounds!
Oh yeah, the basis of the steam locomotive in The Polar Express Christmas movie! The Pere Marquette 2-8-4 #1225 is one of my all-time favorite Berkshire engines. Nice whistle and bell sounds! Excellent footage!
She's back at it again. Pulling excursions for the summer. PM #1225 doesn't just pull the North Pole Express. It also pulls other excursions. In one shot you can see MSTX #1155 a former CN SW1200RS donated to them by Consumers Energy back in December 2023. Wow
dang i was wondering why there was a WCH e-bell at the washington street crossing. the bell died, the bell on the other signal seeps to be on its deathbed lol
*”This is a POLAR Express!”* well that ain’t something grand; 2:03 | there’s a pickup with a “1225” and with a large American flag. And cool; a display of classic cars; muscles; sedans, and one that my dad uses to see when he was young in the 1970’s and 80’s.
How soon will it be before 1225 hits a turned-over rail and "lay's" the whole thing over??? I can't help but think whom ever runs this thing, that they're complete idiots knowing the roadbed and rail. It's NOT knowing "if", but "when". I'll watch the local "disaster" on the 6:00 clock news when it happens.

This engine has been having that whistle for 15 years
Nice to see the 1225 pulling a train for something other than the North Pole Express for once. Great work!
Nice to see #1225 steaming in the summer for a rare outing! Great video Jared!
15:52 - Can’t see me, but I was right beside that red car to the right lol

I wanted to be there so bad but I couldn’t make it 😢
Another amazing video my friend!

Hey great stuff! I liked the video/editing style.
So excited to see the 1225 out pulling. Does that diesel locomotive have a "MARS" light on it?!? If so that is a rare sight these days.
Great video Jared! I was out chasing too so we probably ran into each other at some point

dang i was wondering why there was a WCH e-bell at the washington street crossing. the bell died, the bell on the other signal seeps to be on its deathbed lol
God, those E-bells are basically useless, aren't they? No power at all, can't even hear them over my Focus idling when I'm first car in line.
Ohh you caught him out of Bannister, I was the kid that got out of the jeep to see it, didn’t have time to film it.
The Christmas In July Express

Dude!
Why's Pere Marquette 1225 Had to be an American Freedom Train Flyer Man!?
Polar Express
Very sedate.
How can they run that engine on that shitty siding
I hate to break it to you, but I honestly think 1225’s whistle is overdue for repair as much as I like the sound of the whistle.
Who exactly are you “breaking” this to?
