Slayer is like the AC/DC of heavy metal, they don't really make any bad songs, they make good songs and great songs. Their first four albums are still my favorites from them . I actually saw them on their second tour (Hell Awaits) they played in a bar called Liberty Lunch, saw them like four other times after that
And this was there "radio friendly" single off the album. Seen them well over 20 times. The most intense energy and insane pits of any band. Saw their final show at the Forum. It was awesome. Primus and a few others opened up for them. We're also awesome. I have some videos. But the quality wasn't that great cuz I was more concerned with watching and head-banging than filming.
I was gonna go by my local music store after school and get it, then the news of 9/11 hit (came out same day). classes stopped they brought TVs in and we watched the news all day and I actually forgot about it. Saw them earlier that summer in MA then later up here in ME, few years later was at the show where they recorded the "Still Reigning" dvd up here aswell
I got into SLAYER in the early 90’s during high school when they released Seasons in the Abyss. I quickly picked up all the previous albums and went to see them live whenever I had a chance. BRUTAL live shows!!! Greatest times. So much energy, ferocity, mayhem, violence, etc... it was great to release all that energy in those pits with all my 1000 other demented friends. RIP Mr. Hanneman
I would recommend post-mortem, at dawn they sleep, Crypts of Eternity, chemical warfare, Praise of Death, kill again. All excellent songs that no one really reacts to.
Got introduced to slayer in my jr year of high school 1985 i cant evan count how many shows ive seen from harpos in detroit to pine knob to toledo arena to the capitol theaters and every other small venue to last shows at the amphitheaters Slayer always brings it The greatest thing about Slayer is the albums and the shows all translate they sound exactly the same on both sides absolutely the best band ever
I've been to around 20 of thier shows, spread across 30+ years. Got to see their Farewell tour 1 day after my 50th birthday while on vacation in budapest, hungary last summer. Yes, you missed something special not seeing them live in concert. SLAYER!!!!!!!
Was in the Slayer pit with my best pal in Halifax, Nova Scotia, 2010. Craziest, scariest, most awesome experience I ever had. Got a few heels in the head, but it was soooooooo worth it! One of the best shows I ever witnessed, if not, THE best. 🤘😎
Almost an easy listening song from Slayer yet very haunting. Saw them live three times. Now time with Slipknot as support act. Next day I felt like dead. The pit was extremely wild. Skelletons of Society please (Heavy, but also very listenable)
I saw them about 30 years ago in Miami Beach in a small old movie theater and the absolutely rocked live, loud and the music was tight and album sound worthy!
I've seen Slayer many times and in many places but one thing is for certain. They will pummel you with unrelenting evil thrash metal from beginning to end, while huge upside down crosses light up behind them... Their final tour they went all out and melted everyone's face off and not only by their performance but the pyrotechnics were awesome!!! \,,/
Don't you ever fucking stop doing Slayer on this channel! Saw them down here in South Florida on the final tour and have seen them on several occasions before that. I will truly miss them making their rounds and I hope each member goes on to create more metal! Thank you so much for your videos truly one of my favorite channels, cheers!
So many critics and metal snobs talk about speed, but making this tempo this heavy and being able to actually make those open chords justify the tuning is something amazing. This song is heavy as fuck, period. And the musicality even in the drums, with that silence in the first bar followed by the double kick instead of just blasting it from the first beat is a small detail that makes them different
First Slayer song I ever heard. Junior year in HS we were taking a test in English class and the teacher had the radio on. Some girl raised her hand and asked if she could change the station because the song was threatening to kill her in her dreams tonight. Teacher said no lol
I have seen Slayer live 16 times since 1986 and the one thing you will always remember is, the show does not ever back down. The crowd the music more intense than the studio albums.
I seen them live 3 times and I got to say, other than Slipknot, they are one of the best live performances out there. They sound exactly like the studio recordings live and there are massive mosh pits everywhere, so much fun.
You are my new favorite reaction guy. Love it. Fact that you're a REAL Slayer fan makes it even more worthwhile to watch your videos. Love your reaction my friend. well done. You have a new fan here.
'God hates Us All' Album, fucking LOVE this album, and saw them on the 'Clash of The Titans' tour in Edinburgh, Scotland, was 1990, still have the ticket. Suicidal Tendencies opened, then Testament, then the MIGHTY Megadeth, finally Slayer. WHAT A FUCKING SHOW!
A live Slayer show is amazing. Saw them last year on their final world tour. My fav songs are Angel of Death, War Ensemble, Repentless and Disciple. Repentless is about how they are non apologetic for their music and they use their music get their aggression out about the world. Yes they are not for the faint of heart but they are one of the most influential bands in all of music. They were the biggest influence on the death metal sub genre. There may be heavier bands out there but Slayer still are one of the most brutal bands in metal history. First time I heard Angel of Death I was blown away by how aggressive and brutal it was.
I have a few for you to have a peak at... Amaranthe - "Amaranthine", "The Nexus", or "Drop Dead Cynical", they have some good female+male vocals plus some good growls/screams. Just a good mix without feeling too heavy. --- Eluveite - "Inis Mona" almost like a screaming growl, but the kicker with this band is that they have a lot of atypical instruments: violin, bagpipes, flute (piper?), and some kind of organ grinder/keytar combo looking thing. "A Rose for Epona" the female vocalist shines in this track, worth a look to show their range for sure. --- Ensiferum - "Ferrum Aeterunum" into "Iron" from the Iron album. Good metal sound, the theme puts you right there next to Frodo in the Lord of the Rings talking about the "iron", "specters", "calling out your name"... You'll see. --- Iced Earth - "Declaration Day"... they have a ton of albums and just a great band overall. --- Amon Amarth - "The Pursuit of Vikings" now this band is more of a viking style folk metal. Most of their material is centered on Norse mythology. Another great band. --- Symphony X - "Iconoclast" or just about anything from the Iconoclast or Paradise Lost albums. They have a great progessive/power metal sound to them. --- And to bring you another one from Blind Guardian - "Bright Eyes" one of my personal favorites from that band. It's just a great example of Blind Guardian doing Blind Guardian things. "The Bard's Song" is another great Blind Guardian track, completely different from most of their other style, but still the same... you'll have to see. --- Another great one from Dragonforce to listen to would be "Operation Ground and Pound" --- If you want an hour long video, do a reaction video for Dream Theater (with the Octavarium Orchestra) - Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence (from the Score album, 20th Anniversary) --- I have a quite a few more, but if you went through all these alone, you'd have 2 weeks of content. :) Cheers mate! Love the videos so far!
I saw them perform several times, the last time was back in 2017. Was always happy after seeing and hearing them live. I would like to make a suggestion for other Slayer tunes to check out. Most people go for what was their most "popular" tracks, but I would like to suggest songs from the 'Diabolus In Musica' album. It's an underrated album (in my opinion) and many Slayer fans weren't happy with it. It is, by far, one of their most experimental albums, but it has some really heavy tunes on there. I recommend 'Bitter Peace' and/or 'Death's Head'.
Great reaction my brethren. You should definitely check out Symphony X - When all is lost. I'm telling you, you're going to fall in love with this masterpiece man!
Hey man. Just found your channel and I may have binged your videos...a bit...love your metal reactions and was wondering if you'd ever delve into folk metal? Groups like Ensefirum, Tyr, and Eluviette would be right up your alley if you like a heavy sound in a unique style.
I saw them live in 2011 I think in Gothenburg, Sweden on the Big 4 tour. Out of Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax and Slayer they were the best band. Their energy was incredible
Seen Slayer 19 times over the years, the last being in November 2019 for "The Final Campaign" and they were just as tight then as the first time I saw them...funny thing when I seen 'em live the first time I actually got to meet the band at an in-store record signing for "Diabolus In Musica" which came out the week before....The original version of this song was released on the Dracula 2000 soundtrack, ( which also featured Pantera's "Avoid the Light", to which you did an awesome reaction!) it's more or less the same except it has a different production sound and doesn't have that last verse tacked on the end. Would love to see more SLAYER featured on your channel so here are some suggestions....... Killing Fields, Divine Intervention, Cast Down, Altar of Sacrifice,Mandatory Suicide,Expendable Youth,Dead Skin Mask,Spirit in Black, At Dawn They Sleep,Point,Death's Head,Bitter Peace,Gemini,Addict...keep up the good work, bud! Love the channel!!
Slayer concerts are to die for. A few years back I saw them three times in one month, in LA, Vegas and Salt Lake. Nobody gets adrenaline pumping like these guys. . First time I saw them over 20 years ago in Salt Lake like six straight edgers got stabbed and their faces smashed in. Think they learned slayer concerts aren't the place to try and bully metal heads, lol. Only crazier crowd I've seen was Primus. Slayer crowd is more into the music, but Primus I thought I was gonna die in that mosh pit
My favorite band. Slayer is the maximum point between sound quality and aggressiveness. And the lyrics? without filter, in the face. Listen to '' god hates us all '' and '' cult ''

You really need to do Slayer Dead Skin Mask. It’s about Ed Gein. If you haven’t heard of Ed Google him! He was the inspiration for Psycho, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and The Silence of the Lambs just to name a few.
Ive done avoid the light reaction already. Matter of fact I was jamming it again last night on my livestream. Thats probably my favorite Pantera track.

I saw them here in Costa Rica the second rime they came. This concert was part of the last tour. For the first concert got very sick and couldn't make it. I thought i will never had a second chance but I had it. They are the best, the most beutal, fast and heaviest band. Dont know why they get compared with metallica and megadeth. Been a slayer fan since 85. Going to a Slayer show was an event and an experience like no other. They are sorely missed. R.I.P. Jeff
Seen them 7 times myself. The bands gone but I'm still listening.
Slayer is like the AC/DC of heavy metal, they don't really make any bad songs, they make good songs and great songs.

Skeletons of Society is a great under rated song of theirs or you might enjoy Dead Skin Mask.
spill the blood is a better one
This song is just so good.
This song was in the soundtrack of the movie Dracula 2000 it is about Vampires. :)

I just finished elementary school when i first heard this album, bloodline was pretty much the song that did it for me. Amazong groove.
