BBC has a short news clip where they interviewed Kaleo about how they did the video. They had to hike 3 hours, carrying all their equipment. The volcano is in Iceland and just started to erupt a few weeks before they shot the video. It had been a long dormant volcano. They said they had to test and monitor for gases. Also said it’s still winter in Iceland and very cold, so the front of JJ - facing away from the volcano was really cold and his hands were freezing. But his back was getting really hot. "one does not simply walk into mordor" Icelanders: "hold my beer" I went there a couple of weeks ago and was about 150 meters (500 ft) from the large crater while it was spewing glowing lava into the air up to about 300 meters (about 1000 ft). It was awesome and something that cannot be imagined.
