I don’t blame him because he had a lot going on but if you were a REAL DRose fan you’d know that year was rocky. As for the pistons, they are trying to rebuild. Trading DRose was in their best interest and he wanted to leave and play playoff basketball. The Knicks gave him a better shot at that than the pistons. Jimmy and D Rose were kind of a awkward fit together, especially in an NBA after the Warriors became a thing. Having two non-shooting players for guards means your offense is going to be old fashioned and have really bad spacing

My Respects to Derrick Rose is on the Highest Level for being Committed & Compassionate for everytime he plays in the court. Hope you have always a better Future as being the One and Only Best Point Guard MVP in the NBA History.
I still come back to this video a couple times per year. Man, you can feel the emotion. This is probably going to be hard for some of you to believe, but D Rose had a bigger impact on kids in Chicago than Michael ever did. Just a humble kid from Englewood who made something of himself, a true dream chaser. Young guys out there, this is a man to look up to.
I’m on a train randomly seeing this and it’s making me tear up. For ever will rep the D rose jersey. Been watching him since Simeon and believed he was the Chicago savior.
Ever since he got drafted by the Bulls wayback of 2008 NBA draft he impressed not only the Bulls Management and the citizens of Chicago, but the entire basketball fans who knows him so much are impressed on his dedication.
I am a die hard Kobe fan and I’ve only ever had two shirts that I bought myself, got others as gifts but I don’t count those. That last part was so classless. He proved he could still hoop avg 17 PPG in his first stint with NY. One of my favorite players ever, I still hate that Chalmers hit that 3
18 ppg and 6 assists
@@Mr.PR2000 nice, even better lol
He got traded after having a good season. From timberwolves, pistons and now knicks. He deserved better and there's no problem being loyal but this is what business is all about
Right he’s ballin with the Knicks.
He’s playing a lot smarter and efficient on the Knicks than he did in with the Bulls now that he’s not the lone reliable option on offense tbh.
I love how BJ handled the situation. That's how a man who cares about you should speak to you. Direct, but with compassion.
He loved his city and his team with all his heart, I’m so sad to see this.
The city still loves him its just american organizations doesnt value loyalty
kudos to adidas for sticking with him.
adidas probably don’t want rose no more but they have no choice he signed a 14 year 185 million dollar contract after he won the MVP
He makes millions in china
I love this guy .... he just got himself a nice contract this year never gave up I can only imagine what this guy would’ve been without the injuries ❤️
We still love Rose in Chicago, especially here on the South Side! 💪🏾💪🏾
We will always respect him and love him alot also here in Pilsen 👍 D-Rose is a legend
The only player who doesnt need a championship ring to become great. When people acknowledge your passion, humility, and resilience, that's when you transcend greatness. Derrick Rose may not have a ring, but his heart and perseverance are more powerful than any three-peat. 🌹🌹🌹
So emotional im crying rn how could they do him like that
Because he got hurt it's all part of business.
It's because of this guy I started watching basketball. The best slasher and one of the best point guards to ever play. This guy carried Chicago from 2011 to 2016 and yet they traded him for an aging Dwayne Wade. I hope DRose will win a ring.
He was injured
this shit right here made me cry and I was like 13 at the time!!!! I wish rose never got injured he's is a player that truly deserves multiple rings man
I come back here today after your retirement announcement. We are at the same age and I had the left knee surgery because of a match as well. I couldn't play basketball for 5 years because of my fear to injure again. But you, you never talk much, you just don't give up. Your dedication is the inspiration of countless fans around the world. I will miss you running on the court. Thank you for giving all you have to the game. You showed us the true meaning of loving an interest and professional athletes. One day I will tell my kids, there was a kid from the windy city who run faster than the wind and dunk like a beast, and he is your pop's all time idol. Enjoy your time with your family. You deserve that. Love from Hong Kong🇭🇰
See this is why the man overcame everything and is still thriving . That’s dedication. Passion and loyalty. To the game and the team.
It's sad to see. I appreciate his contributions to the Knicks now, however. I like his game a lot, even if he's not MVP caliber anymore, he still gives you those moments and helps the team win games.
he's back with the Knicks again, this time long term. we weren't gonna let him go back to Chicago where they might have shipped him out if he didn't play well again
@@robertbui9030 Chicago has a different front office now you realize that and that’s exactly what’s the Knicks did with Carmelo so it’s a bit ironic you’re saying that
@@SMORES12304 fr but the front office that handled to d rose a jimmy butler stuff were horrible they couldn't build around jimmy u keep d rose
He definitely gives you moments
At his peak, DRose one of the best we've ever seen at the PG position. Respect.
🤨
@@kingmunchtv 🥴
The most athletic absolutely
No. Not even close
This guy has a lot of talent and yet these teams are just throwing him around.
If he wouldn’t have got that injury, he would be one of the top 10 of the history, for me is one of my idols, and he, lamentably was a talent wasted, in 3 years he was able to level a 90% of the greatest players, if he would continue…
They said that they didn’t saw something like him
Bulls had to trade him because They couldn't afford his contract.
I would love to see d rose in L.A💯 favorite player, on my favorite team
@@jaysnbawrld805 They already have too many players. Plus Rose and LeBron don't fit together. LeBron needs spot up shooters around him.
@@hitman321100 ik, that's why he not there now, but when lebron leaves or retires, hopefully rose can become a Laker
he grew up in chicago that was the team he gave it all for and loved and watched since he was a kid he gave chicago everything he put his body and health on the line for this team and what do they do? send him to the gd knicks😭 and that makes it 10 times sadder
fast forward to now and i think he’s happy he’s a knick that last run with the knicks (after this video of course) didn’t mesh didn’t go to well for anyone involved. this guy reinventing himself after the knicks really settled into a 6 man role. and now he’s great again. he’s not what he was as a youngin but i got nothing but confidence in his game
Chicago should NEVER ever trade this man.
And now we are welcoming him to the Grizzlies, so glad he is still playing and cant wait to see him this year, always been a fan of D Rose, no matter what team he plays for, dude is a class act out there.
this hits way more different now that hes retiring
I will forever root for rose. I’m a regular ol guy who works a 9-5 and tore my ACL and Meniscus, and rehab has been agony and tough on my mental with every setback, and the fact he’s still incredibly important to my knicks in 2021 makes me want to come back from this and be better. Thank you Derrick Rose.
NY and DRose weren’t ready for each other the first time around but this time it’s a match made in Heaven. NY loves you Derrick 🤞🏽🙏🏽
He was a 18 point scoring point guard with 5 assists per game when y’all first had him & you guys ain’t had shit before or after him putting up that production if it wasn’t for the Pistons having loyalty to D.Rose he wouldn’t have been back in NYC and the Knicks still not going anywhere important
@@mykejae3493 first of all, relax. You sound like you have a personal beef with the Knicks. Take it down a few notches. Yeah, DRose averaged 18 points. But he said himself that mentally he was not there, especially after being traded unexpectedly. They missed the playoffs, and he was unengaged at certain points in the season. You can say whatever you want about the Knicks. But real basketball fans know that they’re getting better every year. Just three years ago they won 17 games. Two years later they’re the 4th seed. 🤷🏽♀️
I've been a lifelong Celtics fan. I love Derrick Rose. He was INCREDIBLE before he physically broke down. He could have been a top-10 all-time player, but injuries robbed him of the best of his career. One could feel bad for him for this alone...but it turns out DRose is the Real One, too. He gave everything to Chicago and the game, and he's a super-solid dude off the court.
Who's Here After He Just Retired💔
im so relieved when he signed with the knicks this season despite rumors he goin back to chitown.
imo they couldve had a chance with him and jimmy going to the finals if they didnt trade him
Thought something might happen in 2015, might finally be the year but windows close as quickly as they open
Jimmy and D Rose were kind of a awkward fit together, especially in an NBA after the Warriors became a thing. Having two non-shooting players for guards means your offense is going to be old fashioned and have really bad spacing
Thats why I dont blame players for negotiating HARD on their own pay and sometimes coming off greedy.
Its a business at the end of the day.
The Bulls really traded Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah for half a blunt and a used condom
Joakim played like a used condom in that 2017 year
Joakim been ass since his injury, I remember watching the 2025 playoff against Cavs he was awful
this guy could've been the franchise player that will lead to a championship but they did him dirty.
glad the bulls got nothing out this trade still in poverty salute u D Rose.
My guy humble as a lamb, put on that uniform and emerge into a LION… Definitely one of the best to ever do it, gave everybody hell on that court man… Salute to a REAL ONE!!
as a fan drose made me love the game I had always liked. I never had a team till I saw him play. Then I seen them do that to him. Made me hate the words “business & personal”.
He wasn't even playing that many games and he wanted more money and basketball wasn't even his priority. He was saying stuff like he has to worry about his sons graduation when his son was 4 years old.
This should serve as a reminder to anyone who says work is family away from family. It is not. Work is transactional. As soon as they feel they don’t need you, you are gone. Always gotta keep your guard up.
Sad but true.
Sad asl watching this my rose was nasty and wasn’t appreciated once his injury happened. LOL he went back to the bulls in my career in 2k21 😭.
im making a mycareer player thats plays like him. kinda hard tho
i cried man..... i love drose
He was so loyal to the bulls it’s sad they treated him like nothing at the end but as a bulls fan I loved watching his game even after getting traded to the knicks. I really hope he wins rings no matter which teams he plays for.
This guy made me watch Basketball again, I couldn’t adapt to the NBA but Rose literally made me excited about basketball again.
This dude got traded for Jose Calderon, Jerian Grant, and Robin Lopez Imao, would’ve been a nice point guard to back up Lavine if he came to the bulls.
And they talk about one sided trades I literally told my self $100 a $1 today huh. Everyone stills rocks the D Rose jersey. We all show him love every time he plays us. D Rose is THAT guy.
they chose lonzo over Drose :/
They had to trade him because They couldn't afford his contract.
@@hitman321100 not could not afford, but did not want to pay him coming off of that injury twice. Basically they stopped believing in him.
@@bighawaii He was way overpaid and he wasn't it worth for a guy that eventually became a bench player.
This is a prime example of why a player should never be loyal to a franchise
Its hard not to appreciate this mans passion and his story.
When he said "you lying " that moment hurt me the most because he realized it was over
I love this dude. I hope he somehow retires in Chicago. We all love him here. I'll never forget his time with the Bulls, one of the best and most explosive performances I've ever seen.
Bulls could have been a contender right know if they didnt trade him. Rose and Lavine could have been great
No disrespect to Rose but there’s no way they can be contenders w Rose n Lavine.
Playoff team
@@kmxyyxmk7042 Yes they would be. I don't know about Contending but they'd definitely make it to playoffs with those two. To be contending they'd need another piece though.
@@nunyabusiness8498 they went 31-41, rose alone is not gonna make them contenders, 8th seed at BEST. Let’s be real, Rose used to be great but he’s just not that good anymore
@@kmxyyxmk7042 He's just not as explosive. If you look at his season stats he's still pretty solid. He almost got 6th man of the year for a reason.
This is precisely why I agree with KD's comments on why people are mad about players asking out of their teams and yet don't ask questions when a team/admin trades out a player who poured their heart and soul into an organization. You don't pay someone to be loyal, you have to show loyalty first.
the rose that never blossomed 😔🥀
When a team does this, it's just business. When LBJ leaves on his terms, the media tries to make the country hate him forever.
That’s why it’s elite when KD and LeBron leaves on their terms. Fuck these teams.
“My life period, it’ll always be twist’s and turns like this” broke my heart man, he deserves so much better.
As a bulls fan this brings me to tears :( just goes to show never put all your loyalty into a team it’s sad that once they feel you’ve done enough they just up and trade you… I will always and always root for D Rose no matter what jersey he’s wearing ! He made watching the bulls exciting!
Had to come back to rewatch this after he retired. One of the few times a stranger has brought me to tears.
i love you man
One of my all time favorite players in The NBA. HE BROUGHT back the 🔥. Now in Memphis. STILL love watching him walk on the court to get thoes minutes and giving it the best he can. Sad about injuries. My son is a very good football player in high school. But with his shoulder dislocating over and over. Dr say up for surgery. It makes him upset that his career ended b4 it even started. 😢.
Thank you for everything you gave to the game derrick ik you didn’t finish up with a chip but to me that doesn’t matter
''Unless you get traded to the Knicks'' LMFAO!!! omg that sht had me in tears too.
bulls have always treated themselves as an organization more than a franchise
His manager is amazing for the way he talked to him and helped him get thru it all
It was in his blood and destiny to represent Chicago at the highest level and he did it from the jump. Won MVP and the future ahead of him looked good unless his injury. It feels like hell knowing what you could’ve been but living with.
I hate it when people ask how you feel when something bad to happened like the dumbest thing ever
2 years later 50 point game. Career high. Lots of respect for you sir.
4:18 really got to do him dirty like that
I was gutted for him watching this. Even four years later.... I'm still a big fan. You rock D Rose. Stay strong
He loves chicago men , the windy city assassin 😭 and make me 😭 too.
I couldn't imagine being upset about still being a NBA player just moving to a different city. passion is crazy
I was so upset when rose was traded from the bulls. Still haven't got over it.
Top 5 Bulls player in history. Sad $hit to watch. That's why people in Chicago love this dude so much. Never forgotten
My Respects to Derrick Rose is on the Highest Level for being Committed & Compassionate for everytime he plays in the court. Hope you have always a better Future as being the One and Only Best Point Guard MVP in the NBA History.
Bro, they filmed this one without telling him beforehand that he got traded. Cold.
Wait fr?
They Didn’t Know .. it Was All Random 💯 Nun Of this was planned
@@sliimthesensei4394 oh, okay, my bad

What does jamal murray have to do with anything in this video😂 wait Acl nvm
I still come back to this video a couple times per year. Man, you can feel the emotion. This is probably going to be hard for some of you to believe, but D Rose had a bigger impact on kids in Chicago than Michael ever did. Just a humble kid from Englewood who made something of himself, a true dream chaser. Young guys out there, this is a man to look up to.
Dude gave his heart and soul to his city’s team and to the sport and got outed. Shit is crazy.
I’m on a train randomly seeing this and it’s making me tear up. For ever will rep the D rose jersey. Been watching him since Simeon and believed he was the Chicago savior.
He is now retired, so sad
Ever since he got drafted by the Bulls wayback of 2008 NBA draft he impressed not only the Bulls Management and the citizens of Chicago, but the entire basketball fans who knows him so much are impressed on his dedication.
I am a die hard Kobe fan and I’ve only ever had two shirts that I bought myself, got others as gifts but I don’t count those. The first was a Kobe shirt and the second was a Rose shirt after he got MVP. Dude is a legend regardless and if injuries didn’t tear him down he was on a trajectory to be one of the best point guards of all time. An absolute tragedy, I pray he gets back to Chicago some day maybe wins a chip somehow
He wasn’t loyal to the team. He was loyal to the city & its people. He believed in Chicago & it made him. From the concrete, a rose grew. Thank you for all of the memories D-Rose. One of the greatest to ever do it.
Exactly why players should never be fully committed to loyalty but should focus on being a big member of the community
rose my favorite player with klay, love the two of them.
When Drose retires now in 2024, who watches the video now?
🌹🌹🌹🌹
who came here after d rose's retirement announcement? 😢
Now i know why DRose fans are so passionate about him. Especially if ur from Chicago you can Just feel his love for the City oozing out the video.
