Not to mention in a genre that definitely didn’t promote being so vulnerable. He passed away in the hospital down the street from me and the street was full of mourning fans and family all week. RIP
DMX is a rap poet. His music transcends time. DMX is a few years older than me and I am 46. When I see young kids listening to him and every other boxer, UFC fighter etc using his music as walk out music you begin to realize what a genius he is. He probably will not get the complete recognition and admiration he deserves to long after he is dead but to me he is the greatest. Check out - "Look thru my eyes" ; "Stop being Greedy" ; and if you want to get really deep "Ready to meet him"
Im 20 years old now, love d, he really inspired me and was the rapper who really got to my heart. Im also planning to get the last bars of look tru my eyes tattood on me, dmx definitely on another level for me, people talking bout big n pac but i listen to dmx and i feel every word in my heart
Dont get me wrong, not saying anything on any rapper im a real hip hop head, just dmx has something different that i cant explain, you just feel everything he says
RIP X 😥 Man I literally was teaching my son about the story of X and couldn't finish because I couldn't stop tearing up. He was the voice for us kids in the late 90s who grew up in the streets up north. I came from a foster home and know the pain of not having family and putting all your trust and love into a dog who became your best friend. This shit hurt my soul bad
I'm not the biggest Rap fan in the world but this song just caught me off guard and it just stuck with me after to listening to it a few times and I started to realize that DMX was talking about the same struggles I was going through. Slippin' motivated me to be a better man a better father to my son and it made me realize when you become a parent it isnt just about you anymore. The stakes change when you bring a kid into this world and you owe it to that kid to do your best to give your child a better upbringing then your own. Especially, if your own upbringing was poverty stricken and exposed to drugs and alcohol at a young age.
I'm glad you made it through the desert. It makes us tougher. I always said, we must be special to have these crosses. It makes you appreciate what you have.
@@averitasMan I don't even fear death anymore. It's great we have a way out. I've suffered so much for the last 8 years, I feel every word of DMX. Too bad he slipped again in the end. It's a slippery slope straight down to a life in hell when fucking with Drugs. Death is the ultimate deliverance. I know he is in a better place now. I am not suicidal, I am 2 months clean from hard opiates. I still feel like shit, every day. I am physically getting stronger though. There's a faint light at the end of the tunnel and I hope I get there before I slip. Music and Netflix is the only things that keeps me sane. And hearing about other people's stories so I thought I'd share mine even though it ain't even the half. D Rugs by Cam'Ron is also a great track for broken souls.
Legend. Thank y'all for reacting to this. Slippin is one of the songs that got me through, when Pac and Biggie died, X filled a good bit of the void they left.
Damn, I couldn't help but shead a tear. The dude lived a tough life. Fucked up. And your relationship with your mom is so dope. I miss mine. Lost her a couple years ago. I was 28. Never had a father really. He existed but not as a father. Long story, he was never there. And he died too a few years back. So seeing y'all is dope. I did wish my mom connected with me and music more. She was dope though. One tough woman who did it all herself, always. Toughest person I knew. May she continue to rest in peace. She deserved it after our struggles in foreign countries, always poor, depending on others.
It’s cool seeing children react with their parents to rap music they grew up on. Mom’s got some old memories coming back, and you can see that they’re from way before you were born. You’re probably the best thing, if not the best thing that ever happened to her. Super cool kid, all love to you and moms. Subscribed!
Dmx the best love this song thanks for sharing it glad you an ya moms like it as well keep representing the legend and reminding him an the world how great an deep he is
@@SchwarzeSonne1965 lol biggie was more lyrical, and told better stories. Pac told more positive and uplifting stories maybe. Two totally different ppl and styles. Never mentioned big either.
This song was way ahead of its time. This dude wrote a song about mental health back that wasn’t even a topic
Rip.
