    Brilliant! I had no idea one could so accurately key with the colour bars, so that is my task to try out and learn this very Lockdown weekend.

    Excellent video, but why your ATEM SOftware control looks so different from mine?

    • @photojoseph
      @photojoseph  3 роки тому

      It shouldn’t look that different. More buttons lit up because I have more inputs? What else are you seeing?

  • @Grinchstallion

    What is generating the scope view? I'm pretty new to this and I understand that you are using a small monitor to point the camera at, but where is the scope coming from?

    • @photojoseph
      @photojoseph  5 років тому

      The scopes are generated by the monitor. This was an Atomos; pretty sure they all do scopes

    Great tutorial thank you - Is it possible to key3 different angles on virtual background, as I am using 3 cameras for a virtual studio shoot?

    • @photojoseph
      @photojoseph  4 роки тому +1

      yes, you would set each one up individually and save that as macros to restore the precise settings for each key.

    I'm considering switching from Wirecast to a Blackmagic ATEM for UA-cam live streams. Does chroma key support video files or still images only? Thank you! Sub and Like added!

    • @photojoseph
      @photojoseph  4 роки тому

      Good call. And chroma will key anything you feed it. A video file is no different than a video stream as far as the ATEM is concerned. It is playing from an external support (I don’t believe _any_ ATEM has built-in video playback)

    Holy crap I've had my ATEM TVS for like four years and always wondered why they bothered to include color bars (I've obviously never read the manual). I also never used the chromakeying until recently when I started developing a sports scoreboard program and I spent forever trying to dial it the chromakey settings... I just happened to stumble on this video tonight looking for info on the new ATEM Mini. Watching this was a totally "a ha!" moment

    Is it possible to live key with three cameras for a virtual studio using the ATEM 1 M/E? I believe I need a 4 M/E but I wanted to see if you knew a workaround.
    Thanks!

    • @photojoseph
      @photojoseph  5 років тому +1

      I'm not familiar enough with the 1 M/E to know its limitations, but unless you need all three cameras on screen at once, you should be able to switch the downstream key's input source (camera) and key settings via macros. Get each of the three dialed in, saved as macros, then switch cameras by running a macro that switches the input source and key settings. You may want to build a frame or two sleep into the macro to give it time to load everything. Search youtube for "photojoseph ATEM" and see the other videos I've done on it, especially this one on the benefit of programming in delays: ua-cam.com/video/Rk0ZX0UvgKg/v-deo.html

    Wow, Inception time again.. Why have I never seen someone key themselves before.
    And the tips for getting it right were good too, I just need to check if my BMD Video Assist has all of the correct tools to do it.

    Great demo and tutorial! You have also reviewed the ATEM mini. Its keyer has different controls. In your experience, is the mini as good as the ATEM? Can one use a similar adjustment method?

    • @photojoseph
      @photojoseph  3 роки тому

      The Mini is better - the green screen hardware in there is much more advanced!

    HI, How can we add more upstream key and downstream key in software

    • @photojoseph

      You can’t. You have to script a macro to replace the file in the DSK.

      Just google it mate… there are tons, at varying price points. I could recommend a multi-thousand dollar hardware system like ultimate or free software like OBS. You get what you pay for. There are tons of articles online comparing. Start there.
