Props to Nintendo for actually making this game alot harder to beat then the entire series on the handhelds. So this Cup gave me quite the challenge and we'll go through the Pika Cup in 1 Episode!
Making parts like this into 1 saves the trouble of uploading more parts and putting more videos in your subscriptions boxes and dealing with UA-cam's Glitches with uploaded videos sometimes.

After burrying this game for like 10 years I found him in my cave and wanted to give it a try to unlock r2, but I had never be able to beat petit cup and pika cup.
Now thx to your help petit cup is down and pika cup incoming tomorrow, I have good hope =)

One problem I've always had w/ Pokémon Stadium's Raichu (and Zapdos) is the lack of accuracy.

Yes because they both only have Thunder and not Thunderbolt like Pikachu, Voltorb or Magnemite for example.
@@OzzyR2000 The rental versions, anyways. I suppose it's possible to have Zapdos and Raichu with Thundershock or Thunderbolt if you transfer them from a GameBoy game, but the rental Raichu always used Thunder where as Zapdos at least knew Thunderbolt in Poké Cup.

That was in later Gens 3 and onward. This is Gen 1.
I've never beaten the Pika Cup because of that Tentacruel. It has really good Special, and all Pokémon that are faster than it are Special Attackers. The physical ones are slower, so they get hit by either Surf or the very annoying Wrap.

Nicknames can affect a Pokemon's color back in the 1st and 2nd gens. Shinies were not introduced till Gen 2 but the nicknaming can still change the color. And of course cool thing is that you can constantly change the color on the same Pokemon by just changing it's name again. Not all names will give color changes though but some will.

I get asked this so many times and I constantly have to repeat myself but it's not shiny Pokemon because they never existed in Gen 1. That was Gen 2 onward. In Gens 1 and 2 you can nickname your Pokemon and certain nicknames even doing things to change your Pokemon's nickname around can cause there color to get lighter, darker or even different :P
Actually I just took a look at the Pika Cup details again and I was correct about 1 Level 20 and the other two 15 however it wasnt 55 I meant to say that the 3 Pokemon allowed in battle actually can't go over 50 and not 55.
if you have 5 strong pokemon in a gameboy game and you transfer it can you have 6 or still only one?

@ZephyrSonic Actually, Earthquake has remained a Physical attack all the way to Gen 5. I don't think they'll change it now.

I remember this cup. So annoying. I remember I used a Dragonair from Yellow with dragon rage. Such bull, and we wonder why such moves got banned in later games ;). I wonder if this cup would be broken with access to trading with GSC

Its funny, Tentacruel has weaknesses to elements that target Special (Defense), and Tentacruel's Special is ridiculous high...
shinies werent made then but that kakuna was green like the shiny form of him

You NEED to surf HIHORN with Kingler for a 1HKO. there's other options too but that is my favorite

it based on chance so if you don't get the super-effective moves then you will lose.

You got lucky the Burgalar didn't pull out Drowsee and you got lucky with the critical on Porygon
in gen 1 crits depend on the speed of the pokemon, which is why a persian using slash will always crit.
in the 2nd battle the smartest thing was begin with lapras it got ice beam its SE for al the foe pokemon

thing is the only battle I ever prepared for in the pika cup was with lass
in my team against her my team consisted of
raichu arcanine and wiggleytuff
they were the only three that would work for me and sometimes I would have to use like five of my continues and in some occasions she would still mop the floor with me
she used the same three against me every time

You have to beat R1 first by beating all the gyms and the Elite 4 and Champion and then the Stadium and Mewtwo and you'll unlock R-2 :)
I don't remember what the odds our but he odds of ice beam actually freezing \the opponent pokemon when it hits it. our acutaly very slime there only like I believe like a 5 to like 20% chance of it actually freezing the opponent after hits back then rough guess.

You need a Transfer Pak. It's impossible to hook up any Gameboy to the N64.

Lass is a lot harder than Fisher. Tentacruel was a beast before the special split.
I don’t know if you’re still reading this since the video is 11 years old but I can tell you that from my own experience the Pika Cup is the most difficult thing to complete in this game. Compared to this even beating Mewtwo and completing the Gym Leader Castle is a joke.

I cant get past the 7th opponent lass. It is such an unfair match, she has a gyrados which is completely overpowered at level 20, same with a tentacruel also at level 20, an annoying ass mr. mime (fuck him) and dewgong. I have NO idea how you're supposed to get past this with her roided up gyrados who has a freaking THUNDER move! Fuck that...
Gyrados can't even learn Thunder. Cheating a** game!!!!!!!

Use a Jolteon, best Electric type in the game(losing only to Zapdos). He can 2KO Tentacruel and OHKO Gyarados with a TBolt, and will easily outspeed any Pokémon in this cup.
NataliaNeeSama That's the thing I cant used trained pokemon, I dont have a gameboy color anymore, I sold it years ago and there is no place where I can buy a used one. If I did I would be able to beat this tourney with ease.

The pika cup would have been a lot easier if you had all level 20's.

the tentacruel is a demon that I could only beat with raichu and it was rare to get a one hit ko
her garidos is evil and sadly my raichu was usualy wasted by that thing before she would bring out the tentacruel
