As a child, the episode where Mick gave Leo and Tinhead a telling off about the stolen computer used to crack me up for some reason, especially the bit at 38:22 "you're breaking my arm dad!" "I'll break your bloody neck of you don't stop whinging!"😁😁😁
The music is all the stuff I grew up with in a nightclub called sequins in Blackpool , and a place called quadrant park in Liverpool , had some great nights down there .😎
@@Mhuctchinson The music isn't even from proper artists, Brookside was the only soap that used unknown studio session music due to copyrights. How did you hear that untitled stuff in a nightclub?

16:55 Imagine if that was said today on tv...the rainbow brigade would have the soap shut down within the week....ah the 90s, good times before the madness

To register as childminders or foster parents takes months of paper work, courses and police checks. They had enough of their own problems to give attention to Louise
Bel and Ollie don’t seem particularly concerned that some meff ming scallies have broken in, stolen the computer and drawn mustaches on the Simpson family photograph.
I notice, with the posh, young female actors, they have the sound clear enough for you to hear the movement of their tongues against their teeth - they do that in Hollyoaks as well - I'm guessing it's supposed to sound luscious and turn the straight male viewers on.
But how can it be an impressive, accurate portrayal of someone coming out when he actually _isn't_ ? He's basically shagging his own sister, so he's just playing to the stereotype to cover up the incest, so it isn't an accurate portrayal of coming out at all.
I barely recognised Faith Brown as Jule's mother. She was on everything in the 80s and seems to be remembered mostly for her impression of Kate Bush taking off whilst singing Wuthering Heights. Or Babooshka. One forgets. But she's not very good in this, either.
Port-Mortem (13th August 1996) Getting Off (14th August 1996) Say Yes (16th August 1996) No Sign Of Life (20th August 1996) Hunt The Child (21st August 1996)
The actress who plays Jules isn't very good - for one thing, you can tell she isn't Scouse in real life, because her real-life accent slips out sometimes. And when Jules cries the actress just pulls a face and whoops - her face doesn’t flare up and there are no tears.
I just watched the episode before her and Nat get married, and she was “crying” because she thought he’d run out on her for good after the wedding rehearsal. And what you’re saying is spot-on. I almost can’t blame Nat for being more interested in Big Sis Georgie instead. Imagine condemning yourself to a life married to Jules? I couldn’t do it.
Bev's older sister, Lynne, was married (briefly!) to Frank Rogers, who is Sammy's father. Frank was killed on his wedding day to Lynne, and she just gradually disappeared altogether when the cult were squatting in number 5.
Thanks so much for uploading this to UA-cam this is brilliant

That Noel is a creep. Threatening to dump Sammy if she doesn’t go on holiday with him later that night! With hardly any notice
She's worse for going along with it...

Bel and Ollie should have asked social services if Louise could stay with them until Katie returned home.
To register as childminders or foster parents takes months of paper work, courses and police checks. They had enough of their own problems to give attention to Louise
I agree. They could of minded her and not rang them at all
The actress playing Louise here is much much better than the teenage one who played her a few years later
Mick is gorgeous 😍😍😍😍
This upload is definitely top class

They actually said that they did them a favour drawing on the photo because they hated it 😂
I’m not sure whether or not I feel sorry for Jules what with Nat dumping her or if she’s annoying for not accepting that Nat doesn’t want her.
Looks like Bel and Ollie couldn’t take good care of Louise either. Poor kid.

Yes it did
Outside of the context of the general storyline, the 'Nat being gay' plot is a fairly impressive portrayal of someone coming out in the 1990s.
But how can it be an impressive, accurate portrayal of someone coming out when he actually _isn't_ ? He's basically shagging his own sister, so he's just playing to the stereotype to cover up the incest, so it isn't an accurate portrayal of coming out at all.
