Sorry to break it to you, but the nature is timeless. A child needs both a father and a mother. It has always been like this and it won't ever change.
So nice how chill you are unlike a lot of people you seem to actually listen to guests/ each other and hear what they are saying and then respond in such a natural way. Such a lovely podcast and I am not someone who enjoys a podcast. I have been invested!
I have never wanted kids for myself but back in high school when Phoebe Buffay was a surrogate for her brother I thought it was the most beautiful thing you could do for someone. It must be so hard for two dads to find someone willing to do it for them

I do understand the laws about surrogate mothers having rights, but I don't think their husbands should, and I also don't think it should take months to get it switched over to the intended parents. 13:14 Yes, that would make so much more sense.

Me and my partner (although a hetero couple) also went through surrogacy. We went overseas and it was such a complicated process, but the pro was in the other country we were the legal parents. We lived abroad for 4 months whilst waiting for our son’s British passport (He is also called Oakley 🥰) However, when we flew back to the UK we still were not seen as the legal parents despite us being genetically related.. we went to court and finally got our parental order approved 3 weeks ago 🎉.

I have really enjoyed watching this video, I'm a lesbian and I'm saving up to have a baby and willing to have one on my own as I'm single but I do have these thaughts about when I have children of people treating them differently because they will have a lesbian mom. what is the craziest thing oakley has said to you. ill say mine i have a baby called freya and her first word was hairdryer so whoever she met shed say hi hairdryer!
Just need to get Cole and Abbie on now as I think their experience as same sex parents is similar and different at the same time
The experience these guys are going through is like why Diver Tom Daley and his husband Lance went through surrogacy in the US to have their children

The fact that the surrogate and her partner are the legal parents on the birth certificate and the intended parents is messed. It’s a problem lesbian couples don’t have because they are the ones carrying their own babies
If a woman gives birth to baby, she's the mother.... I don't know why that's a problem.... This is stupid lol
And biologically the sperm donor is the dad no matter what the birth certificate says....
