He glued up the dust panel frames without ever installing the panels. Not sure if it was a production issue, or a mistake. The finished project shows them not installed. I don't care cuz I love Norm and he can do it how ever he wants too.
Yeah...why not use cabinet-grade plywood at least? MDF sucks. It doesn't hold up in humidity, it's heavy as hell, and it doesn't hold fasteners well. It should at least be laminated, but I just avoid the stuff in furniture or cabinetry completely.

20 years ago poplar was cheaper than pine, and people were using pine for project like those
