this song is personally also for them, they got so much hate for the previous year and now they're pushing forward. they do not deserve the hate.
Don't wanna spread hate or something, but in my opinion the Team behind Itzy deserved it. They rly did them (girls) dirty the last year.
@@stevexwill maybe. we don't know behind the scenes but one thing is for sure, they really enjoyed Sneakers. Performing it and when I saw them live the energy when it came to that song was out of this world. We can always not like something but to hate on a person's effort that i will never understand. Either ITZY or the team.

@@stevexwill I appreciate this conversation. I have no one to talk to about them in my circle. The important thing is the team learns. I will love ITZY no matter what. They have been a bright light on my dark days and literally helped me throughout the pandemic. I'm doing my best to give back to what they've given me.

This pre-release (B-side) song is really good 🥰and I hope the momentum keeps rising with the next Song.
I thought it was a bit risky from JYP to expand that fast and let the Team-Units do everything (or atleast the most). Maybe they werent ready. We will never know.
It was also difficult to keep the high level. The first girl group after TWICE, you have to show a lot. Dalla Dalla was one of the best debut songs I've heard, even if many didn't agree. We'll see if Itzy can recover from last year. I had my doubts about that.
Hopefully YOU are doing well this year and can recover from the pandemic. I'm struggling a bit with that too. Covid had also left its mark afterwards... unnoticed. And Kpop in genral helped me alot not only troughout the pandemic.

also random side note, Stray Kids and Itzy trained together for years and most of these Itzy members even appeared in the Stray Kids Survival Programme; most of them are all really good friends.

FINALLY. The queens have arrived. and the little sisters of SKZ. have fun with Wannabe, Not Shy, Icy, Free Falling or my two favorites Twenty and Voltage.
Lots of context in this song and MV of them overcoming the avalanche of unwarranted hatred they received last year just bc a few songs they released last yr didn’t fit in a box ppl put ITZY in. Yes it’s a song about believing in yourself regardless if you may fall. ITZY’s stuff is all abt self love! I recommend “Wannabe” next

This song made me emotional as hell when I first listened. Overcoming the onslaught of unwarranted hate they received during their sneakers era. It’s a song about believing in yourself but it’s also a song about overcoming everything you fear and setting a new standard for yourself. At the end of the day, if you don’t bet on yourself, if you don’t love yourself, who will? This song is immediately up to the top of my list for SOTY

Some people will never know how big the impact of Itzy's songs is on us. These past few days, I've been out of my actual self due to the pressure of my environment on me. I tend to overthink and doubt my capabilities as a student. (1)
But hearing "Bet on Me" gave me the strength to continue and to try my best even if there's no assurance that I'll win the battle between me and life's challenges. Because just like Ryujin's lines, "Wanna win? Then I gotta lose some days. Yes. I will fail, but that's fine." (2)
Because life is so unpredictable. Some days are okay, but some days are too must to handle. But still, life is something that we need to continue even on the darkest days. Because in the end, everything will be fine. I had so many realizations about my life last night. (3)
Just like Chaeryeong's lines, "I am the only one who will believe me." I realized that the first person that should believe in us is ourselves first. Just as Lia said in her lines, "I am trying to kill my doubt. I won't deny my fear inside." It's okay to feel those emotions, (4)
especially if those emotions are new to us. We shouldn't invalidate our negative feelings, but we shouldn't let them dictate our actions and keep us from striving for success and better days. Yeji also says in her lines, "I trust me" and "Do I believe in me?" (5)
these lines remind me that even though we have so many questions and doubts within ourselves, we should still believe that we can do it, and believe in our capabilities that we can survive the challenges of life. Lastly, Yuna's lines, "Hey world, I hope you're nice to me. (6)
But If you're not, gotta still be true to me." The world is a cruel place for some, especially for those who are experiencing life challenges and judgments from society. But still, being in a cruel world made us realize many things in life. (7)
Such as, "We should continue despite the judgment and hate from other people." and "It's okay to make mistakes because we're still young, and still learning about the real world itself. Those judgments and hatred from people will make us stronger to face the reality of life (8).

I've been hanging around since the early NF reactions, so glad to see you do an ITZY reaction. I love this group so much, probably my favourite kpop group along with IVE right now. This is just a pre-release for their comeback at the end of the month, but it was absolutely the perfect song. This is VERY different from the title tracks they put out, but they do have some other b-sides that are similar in tone. Their title tracks are usually a little marmite, so if you do dive in to them, I don't expect you to like all of their music, but the positivity messages are there for sure.
I should also say, ITZY is not a group focused around the vocals, while they do have solid singers and rap, that's not their focal point. They're about the dance and performance. That's what's going to grab you over anything else with the music.

Totally agree about this song. Its refreshing to get a track with this tone from Itzy. I love your reactions. It really sucks to hear your take on G-idle though. Most people don't realize G-idle's songs are not to be taken at face value. Theyre social commentary and even satirical. Meant to be outrageous and exaggerated to make a statement. Hence in Nude at the end they call the viewer a pervert- It's commentary on the duality of the sexy-stupid-bimbo trope of the past + the demonization of the female body for being "too sexy" simultaneously. And at the end of Queencard you see it was all a dream and she realizes that when she celebrates and owns who she already is, others will too. All the girls identities kind of meld together to portray that everyone feels like they want to be someone else at some point or another. I really suggest looking into the meaning of their title tracks according to Soyeon. Whether you agree with her method of storytelling or not, the message behind it is impressive.

First time discovering your channel because of ITZY. Would love to sub for more ITZY content.
Aside from being known as the best performers of their generation, ITZY is known for their self-love concept so this song's messaging is something you'd really expect from them, however, the difference this time is the song being more mellow compared to their usual sound. If you react to their other songs, particularly their title tracks, you'd understand what I mean.
Of course this is only a pre-release so their title track which comes on July 31 might be more of the hard hitting songs that they usually do.
Would love to see your reaction to: Wannabe, Not Shy, In the Morning, Loco, and Cheshire. And maybe the dance practices since they're a group known for performances.
Loved this reaction for the reasons behind why you love it. It's not my favourite song but the message is spot on and probably hits on what it is about Queencard that I don't like.

Hi, I am back. Great reaction, ty. I was thinking depression. Interesting that u went there Teddy. 0.0 Because Agust D Amygdala is about trauma and that we make our own scars. BTS has a lot of self love and mental health songs too. I really like hearing that other groups are doing mental health songs. BTS were one of the 1st and i am so glad others are continuing that msg. I love Itzy but have not listened to a lot of their songs. This one is catchy and full of feels. Love it.
